Markham has a Freshii at long last! My closest one used to be in Scarborough. When I do crave Freshii, there's one five minutes away from my workplace. After having a nice long weekend in Hamilton, I was driving home on Family Day and wanted to grab something for dinner. I remembered this Freshii and decided to pay it a visit. This Freshii is steps away from Prairie Girl Bakery and Sunset Grill, which are two places that I love to drop by. This Freshii is on Ritual. I ordered a fiesta salad with tofu. The fiesta salad is my go-to salad. I love the citrus dressing and I will eat anything with corn in it. I have been on a salad kick as of late. I can't explain why. My salad was ready in fifteen minutes. I walked in. It was dead. I was the only customers. There is a fake patch of grass on the wall. It's a bit odd to see fake grass staring right at me. However, it's perfect if you want to hold your beverage or food for a photo over there. What was unusual was seeing a sign saying, "Do not resist chances/Take them like vitamins" in front of the garbage. I didn't know if that was twisted humour or just a coincidence. I went to the counter and said that I had a Ritual order. I also said my first name. The woman there seemed disinterested in everything but what was on her iPhone. She looked at the only paper bag on the counter, made sure it was for me, and handed it over. Weird. I took some napkins and a fork. I then drove home to unpack and then eat. My salad was yummy, as expected. Everything was fresh. I especially enjoyed the avocados and corn. The lime dressing was in its own container, which I appreciated. The tofu was cut up into three triangles. It was unexpected. Most Freshii locations cut them into cubes. The triangles looked fine. I felt like staff were taking a shortcut in prepping it. It's a nice location. Customer service could be more attentive. I'll drop by again soon and see if this visit was simply an anomaly. (90)

If you want something healthy and delicious, I highly recommend checking Freshii out! Not only are the staff pretty friendly and helpful, but the food overall tastes great! It was our first time going so we weren't exactly sure what item to get as they have a lot choices. We came around 6 on a Sunday which wasn't busy yet. We both opted for the bowls, placed our order, and then found a seat ourself. The food didn't take too long to prepare and the worker would yell out the order to come pick it up. Our bowls were full of flavour and the portions were fair for what you pay for. However, my only complaint about the bowl was that I felt they are slightly abit stingy on the extra chicken as it was extra. I had only Maybe 2-3 pcs which was so little that my bf could count how many I had. I felt if I'm paying extra, i expect at least bigger pieces or few more. Next time I won't add anything up on top if they're that stingy with it.

Despite it being an established chain, I had never tried Freshii, so when one opened up around town, we took ourselves over for a taste. As the name suggests, Freshii aims to serve fresh food with a focus on healthy choices. I'm always interested in fast food choices that won't lead me to an early grave, so my excitement was high. Unfortunately, this meal did not bolster this emotion. I ordered the Tex Mex burrito, which comes with: brown rice, avocado, aged cheddar, black beans, corn, salsa fresca, and Greek yogurt ranch. If we assume that the ingredients were fresh, (which they very well could have been), my burrito lacked basic seasoning. It was bland. Think of the food and flavour equivalent of a deserted town with a single tumbleweed rolling through. After a couple bites, it made sense why they leave Sriracha bottles at every table. The food needs saving, and Sriracha is its hero. My friend had a baja burrito with tofu, and had a similar experience. I appreciate that a large business is doing some social good by offering a healthier alternative, but this missed the mark.

Came here on a quiet Sunday afternoon - just my luck because I usually order Buddha's satay and that just happens to be the "daily special" - didn't even know they had daily specials at Freshii Size of the place - awesome ... most freshiis are pretty small but this fits like 20 people mostly booths of 2 which is cool Service though... was non existent. They said hi but that was to take my order and they took soooo long to complete my order and the person's in front of me. Haven't seen a Freshii this slow before

Great place for a healthy but filling meal! Walked in and they had hand sanitizer readily available and followed Covid-19 protocols. The staff were friendly and efficient. I ordered the Oaxaca bowl with steak, and my partner ordered the Buddha's satay with chicken. I will say the Buddha's bowl was very peanutty and delicious with the base being rice noodles. The Oaxaca bowl has sort of sweet and spicy flavours - also delish. The total came up to just under 30 bucks. Both meals were warm, with fresh ingredients. Likely to return.

My favourite restaurant. I really like the Oaxaca salad. It is a perfect balance of healthy and delicious. Ps I was the first customer ever.

I'd then sit in my car and eat before heading home. I did it well before COVID-19 was a thing. I still eat in my car these days, especially when I'm hangry. This restaurant's location hasn't changed. However, it now has two lanes that end up converging by the time you hit the first drive-thru window. I came here on a Friday night. I pulled out my McD's app to provide a code to collect points. I felt like a quarter pounder with cheese combo and got one. I got regular fries and a Diet Coke, which seem to be my usual order as of late. The woman at the drive-thru was nice. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. My drink came out first, followed by my food in a paper bag. I thanked her and happily drove home without cursing at any bad drivers. My quarter pounder with cheese hit the spot. It was yummy. My fries looked a bit droopy and sad, as if they wanted to be potato contortionists when they grew up. However, they tasted yummy and salted nicely despite their soggy appearance. My drink washed everything down. It was icy cold and didn't taste watered down. It was nice returning here to relive memories being a regular McD's customer. It has improved since I was last here. I'd return when I'm in the area again. (54)

The crème brûlée doughnut was a nice treat. Though I wouldn't come to McDonald's just to order it, I do think if you're curious, it's probably worth it. I felt that the maple iced and caramel filled doughnut as well as the apple fritter and Boston cream doughnuts were similarly delicious. I don't know that it really stacks up against any speciality shop or even Tim Hortons but I would say it was worth the price. Similarly, though I don't typically order them, I tried a selection of their smoothies and actually found them quite pleasant too. The real star was their peach passion fruit smoothie. I would definitely order this again. It was sweet, tangy, and just a pleasant surprise. I also found the strawberry banana smoothie and blueberry pomegranate smoothie to be quite good but my personal addiction to peach flavoured drinks means the the peach passion fruit will always come first. They all come in festive cups to boot for the holidays. If you were wondering if any of these items were worth the try, I'd definitely give them a go as you might find them surprisingly good. Also, if you haven't tried the Apple pies yet, they are always delicious (though I suspect many of you have already experience these little delights). As a side note, they are just better in Canada than in other parts of the world due to the method of preparation. I think Canada bakes them and other countries deep fry them. You'd be surprised at the difference. I would however avoid the "li'l doughnuts". I found them disgusting. Timbits are way better. The next things on my list to try are the festive ginger cookies. Though I found most of these items good, they are chalk full of sugar which makes little, if anything, about them nutritious. They are also likely filled with refined sugars too but I'm sure none of us are going to McDonald's for the health benefits so perhaps give these a try next time you're there.

He got me the former, which is perfect to dip the chicken (regular recipe and not the spicy) into the gravy. He also got me a Diet Coke. My meal hit the spot. The chicken was crispy on the outside, and tender and juicy on the inside. I love the mashed potatoes with the Cajun gravy. The gravy has a slight kick that compliments the mashed potatoes nicely. It took two people fifteen minutes to make it. - Communication to the customer on how long it would take for my order to be ready wasn't stellar. On Wednesday night, after driving home from Mississauga, I felt like a milkshake. Where should I get one? I remembered that the Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shake location in Scarborough that I had visited months ago offered milkshakes. I also remembered this Boardwalk location in Markham. It used to be South St. Burger. Markham used to have two locations. It now has zero, which is a downer. I came here at nearly 9 pm. There were lots of parking spots. I pulled into one and entered the store. The Boardwalk is a combo store with Lava Grill. There is one entrance for both eateries. I walked in. There was a couple enjoying a meal. I was the only person at the order area, which is shared between the two eateries. It took a while for the man at Boardwalk to come over. He was making burgers. I ordered these items: - Strawberry shake without whipped cream - Dubai chocolate brownie I paid with a credit card. Done. Communication is an issue here. This man continued making burgers and fries. He didn't let me know how long it would take to make my order. I wasn't in a rush, but I didn't know that it would take fifteen minutes for two folks to try and make my milkshake. I did like that the press for the burgers automatically came down on the patties and had a timer. I also watched fries go into hot oil and the basket automatically come up once the fries were done. It was also on a timer. I noticed that burger man got Lava guy to make my shake. They both went into the back. Burger man came back to assemble the burgers. Lava guy was still in the back. My guess was that there was some issue making my shake. Again, I got no communication until Lava guy came out to look at my order and told me it would be two minutes. Um, sure. I didn't believe it. I was right. I decided to sit down. Burger guy had finished making the burgers. He went outside. He came back in. His first communication to me was two fingers up in the area. Two minutes or victory?! Five minutes later, I saw a shake come out from the back. Lava guy was holding it. Lava guy took a box with a brownie and packed it in a paper bag. I got a napkin, a fork, and a spoon. He handed me a pretty strawberry shake and my paper bag. I thanked both guys, more relieved than anything, and left. I got into my car and drove home. Despite the wait and the lack of decent communication, the two items that I had were excellent. The strawberry milkshake was yummy. I loved the strawberry flavour. It was creamy and enjoyable. I had the Dubai chocolate brownie yesterday. It was so good. I loved the crispy bits with pistachio cream and a delectable, moist brownie layer. Yum! I'm thinking that ordering online and coming here to pick up my order would be best. This place seems to take its time because it seems to be on its own time. Boardwalk has happy hour deals at night. I may give it a try next time. Here's hoping that communication is better. (190)

You can tell from the taped over menu that the prices have been slowly increasing over the years - but they're still quite reasonable. The two of us were able to get a good meal for less than $20. I do think they only accept cash, consistent with the other restaurants in the food court as well. We ordered one fried noodle dish ($8.85) and wonton & beef brisket with flat noodle in soup ($7.99). They do charge tax so it ended up being $19 flat. Both dishes also came with a beverage, and I think soy milk is the only cold one without an additional upcharge so we both ordered that. The fried noodles were a great portion - the taste was pretty average. The main flavour is salt! For the soup noodles, it was actually pretty good - they gave 3 large pork and shrimp wontons, and a couple pieces of beef which were tasty and well marinated. I will say that the noodles themselves lacked any real flavour, but such is the case with most rice noodles. I'd definitely get it again for the price.
