Thai food joint located inside First Markham Place food court. I've been to this spot a couple of times. I don't know if it's truly authentic, but it does the job, and I enjoyed my meal. I do recommend the popular coconut curry noodle soup that I had before. On my most recent visit, I ordered something not as commonly chosen, which is the Queen Lad Nar. It has a bit more subtle flavour, it tastes like a sort of light chicken gravy on rice noodles. I think in terms of value, this spot is more expensive compared to neighbouring joints, but they use some quality veggies and meat so it makes it worthwhile.

Thai Coconut Noodle Soup with Pork

A solid meal at a mall food court, and a great change of pace from all the Chinese food options I go to when I'm in the Markham / Scarborough area. There aren't a lot of Thai options where I live so I was really looking forward to this place. There's a good variety in dishes they offer (fried noodle and rice, noodles in soup, appetizers, salads, etc) and the prices are very reasonable. There's ample seating in the food court and some interesting stores in the mall, so not a bad place to head over for shopping & lunch. Lots of parking outside and it's very spacious inside too. I opted for the coconut noodle soup since it was one of their best sellers and loved it. The broth had enough coconut flavour in it and lots of spices, which is not always easy to find in a coconut milk-based dish. The herbs and lime on top help add a kick to it; you can also ask for crushed peanuts to add on top but they don't give it to you automatically, likely because it's a common allergen. Overall, the flavour is an interesting mix of sour/savoury, both hearty and refreshing at the same time. Portion size is also great; the meat/nuts/noodles/broth ratio was perfect, I never ran out of broth, and the meal is more than enough. In the summer I imagine it might feed 2. As a person who enjoys ramen, rice noodle, pasta, and other noodle varieties, this was an easy new fave for me, and it brought all the intensity of Thai flavours/spices. I'll definitely be back next time I'm around to try some other dishes on their menu.

Thai spot located in the food court at First Markham Place. It's actually pretty good! Does it beat khao san road or northern pai downtown? Not a chance. But the food is definitely authentic I'll give them that. And the prices here (being uptown and not downtown) are MUCH better than the downtown spots I just mentioned. The coconut noodle soup was above avg. The soup was pretty flavourful it didn't cling to the noodles very well. So the noodles tasted kinda bland. I liked the ground pork added to the dish to make it more hearty. The nam khao (crispy rice salad) is a must order imo. The rice was so tasty and the lil crispy bits burst in your mouth. Super fresh and the portion was massive. My favourite dish at this place. My girlfriend and I ordered a veggie pad thai as well. The noodles were great (could've been saucier honestly) but the veggies were no bueno. I think they used frozen veggies and threw them into the wok cuz some of them still had the freezer burn on them still. Definitely order this dish with shrimp, chicken or beef if you come here LOL.

For a food court, Wiang Kuk Thai Food serves pretty good Thai dishes. The menu is plastered all over the front of the stall, all with big photos - making it easy to see their offerings and choose. They have the typical Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, Fried Rice, Pad Gra Prow (Thai Basil leaf stir-fry), Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles), Papaya Salad, and Mango Sticky Rice. For almost all of the main dishes, you get to choose the protein (shrimps, beef, chicken, vegetarian). I tried the Pattaya Fried Rice with Shrimps, and it was very delicious. It was full of flavour and contained a good amount of shrimps, chopped scrambled eggs, vegetables, and pineapple chunks. It also came with a small bowl of soup / aromatic broth with cilantro. I highly recommended this stall if you're craving some Thai food and happen to be in First Markham Place food court.

Brilliant lil food court located on the maze of corridors that make up this lil mall that has Korean, Vietnamese, fusion HK style food, a vegan stall and so much more, but I wanted to check out the Thai place. Picked up the white meat chicken larb, which included some chicken offal (heart and something else, I think?). This was fantastic! Funky, herby, Kaffir limey, and spicy ... It's special. I wanted a tasty noodle and was recommended by the counter lady to try their Pad Ew noodle. It was beautifully coloured to me, bit lacked the depth of flavour and umami that belied carmalised colour of the stir fry. I was really rooting for this dish, but I just mixed the larb with the noodle for more flavour. But I'll come back, to investigate some more off their offers ... Until next time, then.

Because of Covid, we've been having a hard time finding places that both taste good and give decent sized portions. This Thai place in First Markham Place is among some of the few we've been frequenting recently because it satisfies our cravings and leaves us full! Not to mention, it's perfect if you're looking for a quick and affordable meal. Their pad thai is pretty standard, not exceptionally good and not bad. We still get it almost every single time hahah. But the dish you must try is the crispy rice salad (Nam Khao). We would come back just to get this dish. It is sooo good. It is nothing like a salad, and has everything to do with crispy and deliciousness. Not sure what sauce they use, but it is crazy good. Just try it. It won't disappoint. Honorable mentions: spicy drunken noodle and thai curry noodle soup. Have yet to try their curry dishes, but that's next on the list! Pre-covid, it was cash only. Now they accept credit card, so that's a nice change.

Oooo I love this place ! Drooling thinking about their Nam Khao ( crispy rice salad ). It is a very refreshing dish - a unique mixture of spicy , sour and tangy combo and delicious every time we get it . One important thing to note is this is a rare laos dish that not many places sell therefore a must try :) Typically we can only get this dish at the annual Laos festival. Customer service has also been great the last few times we went :) FYI - this review is specifically for the Nam Khao dish ...tried the pad Thai and chicken soup a few years ago and these were just alright. Chicken soup was average to slightly average ...Pad Thai was actually below average...

I am a big fan of Thai food and it was my first time in this area. I was excited to see a restaurant that sold Thai food and so I was (of course) drawn to it haha. My go-to order is the pad kee mao and so that was what I ordered there. I waited around while the food was being made. I shared it among my friends who have never had this particular dish before. We all thought that the dish was okay, I found it a bit bland than what I am normally used to. It was definitely worth the try, I would go back and try more their well-known dishes such as pad thai or their curries.

Inexpensive, quick, tasty authentic food. I've tried almost everything on their menu over the years and never had a bad experience! Pictured is basil chicken topped with a perfectly fried egg, and chicken with rice (it's like their version of hainese chicken). If you haven't tried this place yet, please go! You won't be disappointed!

    #22 stir fry glass noodle

For a food court establishment, this place ain't bad at all. As well, Thai food isn't just the Pad Thai. HAHA! Anyhow. So my friends and I came here to get food and we were mesmerized with all the different choices. I wanted to stay away from the other choices available and I chose Wiang Kuk. There's no venue assessment as it is in a food court. Food wise, like I said I stayed away from the Pad Thai and ordered the stir fried glass noodles with pork. Normally Thai food doesn't serve pork, only beef and chicken (at least to the places I gotten food from). So I gave this a go. Not bad at all, the glass noodle isn't oily and lots of onions went with it. I love the peanut that adds at texture of crunch. Flavour isn't too overpowering and the pork was stir fried just right. I will come back to try other stuff (not Pad Thai for sure).

I'm not easy to please when it comes to food. Having said that, this is hands down the best Pad Thai I have ever eaten. Noodles are soft and do not break. Sauce is amazing. A smile would add to the atmosphere.

Based on my first visit, I'm giving it 3.5 stars. I've been coming to FMP food court for many years but I have never tried this Thai place. My family loves the BBQ place, there's two which we used to go the left side one but now the right side one (Extra BBQ). Honestly they are both similar but I do like the home made soup from Extra BBQ. As for the other food vendors, you can get really good Korean food which now has three. Really strange how this food court has multiple vendors serving exactly the same food...2 BBQ places, 3 Korean places, 4 Bubble Tea/Fruit juices or is it 5. I was really surprised at all the menu items here...thank goodness there are pictures of every dish. I had no idea what some of these dishes were. Thanks to Yelp reviewers, I was able to pick a few dishes to try. Got the #13 Larb Beef and #S36 Sai Oau (Pork sausage) and the Beef Pad Thai. I was so amazed at the Larb Beef dish which was a mixed of beef and tripe tossed with onions and coriander in a fish sauce...so refreshing and tasty! My only complaint was that the beef was a little chewy and I got it medium rare. Maybe I'll ask for well done next time. I just have to say that I love this dish! The sausage was good too but I didn't like the Pad Thai. I'm a bit picky with Pad Thai and I found it a bit sweet. Overall, I'm glad that I finally tried this place and now I have one more choice at FMP.

Larb beef with thai iced tea

I've been frequenting this place a lot as of late because my personal trainer is around here. If you're wondering if this place is counterproductive to my efforts with said trainer, you are 100% right it is! I visited this place because my Chiropractor was raving about it and decided to give their larb beef salad a shot. The soup is flavorful without tasting heavy. It's actually quite refreshing when you have some after a bite of the salad because the salad packs heat! They also have slices of cucumber to cool your tongue down but really, I needed a bubble tea with lots of milk because when you ask for spicy, they don't play around. Their thai iced tea is just ok. I much prefer thai iced tea from Thai on 7 or Sukho thai. The chef special basil chicken is delicious as well. I love that the basil flavor really comes through but the basil leaves weren't overcooked. The flavors of their dishes pack a punch but it also has a brightness so the dishes don't feel heavy....even when you're overeating. I heard that their coconut soup noodles are fantastic so I will give it a go next time. Their prices are really good considering the amount of food you get. I don't mind coming here and save a few bucks instead of going to Sukhothai/Pai!

Both the coconut curry and tamarind coconut red curry have very rich, creamy, and flavourful sauces. We had the spice level mild for both dishes, but that was still too hot for me, personally. That has nothing wrong to do with the dishes, but just my personal tolerance level. The coconut curry was a treat to eat. The pork jowl was very gummy and chewy. There was also a fried, battered leaf in the dish to provide a crunchy texture to the dish. The tamarind curry was equally as good. The braised beef was a little sweet and tender. There are also nuts in the dish to provide that crunchy texture. The tofu spring rolls we ordered provided much needed relief from the spiciness of the curry dishes. I would have some spring rolls in between to help subside the spicy sensation of the chilis. The spring rolls was surprisingly filling. Our group of 2 was not able to finish all of the tofu rolls and had to take some home. We ended the dish with a delightful order of mango sticky rice. It was another order that helped counteract the the spicy, burning sensation my tongue was having. We appriciated the vibe and look of the place. There were properly thought out furnishings around the space and the walls. Service was also top tier. Our waiter was very patient explaning the dish description, the spice levels, and also saying how the dish is pronounced.

I couldn't tell by the name of the dish, but I remember what she told me the good ones. The App we ordered the shrimp rolls (Goong Moun $15.95). There were 4 big rolls. The meat was shrimp and port mixed, a little bit spicy and salty. You must dip the fish sweet sauce together, that would make it tasty and not that salty. The main we got a pork curry dish and Tom Yum beef mild (Leng Tom Yum $35.95). My little girl loved the beef without the Tom Yum sauce so much. But I liked the curry sauce more, however, there was no veggies in it. This one was a bit expensive (Kor Moo Gaeng Kua $25.95) with a few pieces of pork only. The 2 main dishes were both come with rice. We ended up with packing up the rice and the sauce home for another meal. It's really tasty meal, and we would definitely come back again for other dishes.
