There is so much variety in high quality goods ranging from 50 lb sacks of flour and sugar to sliced deli cheeses, books and kitchen gadgets. There are also sewing supplies, gifts and art supplies. The staff are very friendly, polite and knowledgeable of the goods that are sold and they are very keen on pure foods. What surprises me as a home bread maker is the quality and price of the bulk foods they offer. They offer several different types of high quality bread flour for far less than you'd pay for at a supermarket. I will be returning for flour, at this price for the quality I will be able to make all the breads I like and not worry about the cost. I also got high quality oatmeal for less than a regular store. The label even states 'no chemicals'. Nice! A lot of these items are all made and produced by various Mennonite farms and locations and shipped here for sale. They also offer quilting supplies in a large corner of the store. Everything you need from the stuffing to fabric to threads and embellishments, this is the place for a creative artisan to gather supplies.

They have BBG sauces, glazes, marinades. dry rubs and seasonings to spice up your proteins. And salsas and condiments too. I love the mango salsa and the salsa with corn. Their products represent every heat point of the spectrum - Mild, Medium, Hot and X-Hot. For those like me who love the sweet heat, there are dozens of several blended fruit options like mango, peach or pineapple. The amount of offerings is dizzying! If it's peppery, they have it. For those who prefer pickled peppers, they offer several varieties in their whole form or as a relish. To kick start your Chile, there are spice packages that you add to the meat and beans to ensure the perfect balance. Pepper on the run? Try their jerky. Even drink mixes. Spicy Mango Margarita, yes, please!!! I'm a fan of the heat so I really enjoyed checking out the vast breadth of products in this small shop at the Woodbury outlets. There are 3 aisles that are jam packed with offerings, neatly organized and explained. They have gift packages ready made or you can make your own. And if you run out of something or decide you want more, they have a complete online shop, the website is in the info section for Pepper Palace. I left with some pepper jelly which I will pour over a block of cream cheese or Brie for the easiest and most satisfying appetizer. And the spicy mango drink mix because I love margaritas.

It was a great way to prepare multiple dinners without the hassle of prepping/purchasing the ingredients or cleaning up. The portions seemed right and start to finish (less than two hours) I have a dozen dinners for three ready to cook. -I'm told that with experience the assembly time is reduced. When I packed up I forgot one meal from my order and within a half an hour I received a phone call and that "missing" meal was delivered to me. For a busy mom having some ready to go meals made by me out of fresh ingredients that can move from the fridge to the table quickly is great (not to mention avoiding the guilt of bringing home fast food..... again). I spent approximately $160.00 and just under two hours and have a dozen three person meals in my freezer. That works out to three nights a week I don;t have to start dinner from scratch and you do the math on cost per person/per meal but it is way better than fast food!

This place is always a winner!…read more Today I visited on the last day of the Salem Burger Week (so stoked they are doing one of these in Salem!) to sample Lively Station's contribution: the Midnight at Bangkok burger. The minute you walk on you are warmly created. The place is clean and the food smells great. We came with both a gluten and dairy allergy and the staff was incredibly helpful. They were out of a couple of items , but offered ideas of how to help accommodate our needs. We came for drinks, appetizers and dinner. We had mules, margaritas and whiskey sours; all delicious. The pork nachos with their pickled onions and jalapeños were delicious too. The wedge salad and salad bowls are huge. This is the only place I'd order a salad because it looks and tastes amazing. Burgers and fries are fantastic. They have gluten free fries (however I think they're cooked in the same oil as the other fries, just double check) and they're fantastic! The dessert menu has gluten free options too, but we will have to try on our next trip to Oregon.
