There is so much variety in high quality goods ranging from 50 lb sacks of flour and sugar to sliced deli cheeses, books and kitchen gadgets. There are also sewing supplies, gifts and art supplies. The staff are very friendly, polite and knowledgeable of the goods that are sold and they are very keen on pure foods. What surprises me as a home bread maker is the quality and price of the bulk foods they offer. They offer several different types of high quality bread flour for far less than you'd pay for at a supermarket. I will be returning for flour, at this price for the quality I will be able to make all the breads I like and not worry about the cost. I also got high quality oatmeal for less than a regular store. The label even states 'no chemicals'. Nice! A lot of these items are all made and produced by various Mennonite farms and locations and shipped here for sale. They also offer quilting supplies in a large corner of the store. Everything you need from the stuffing to fabric to threads and embellishments, this is the place for a creative artisan to gather supplies.

The moss…read morecovered drive by the river to the farm was nothing short of magical for someone who's accustomed to an urban jungle. This was a weekly splurge while staying on the Oregon coast. The farm is adorable! On one visit, Pat & her daughter were gracious enough to take the time to show me around. It just so happened that a kid was being birthed! Suffice it to say, I was elated, in awe & humbled to be able to witness the beginning of another generation that produces such yummy chevre. Thanks for taking the time to share that. Now back to the cheese - the Sunset Bay with scrambled eggs, sauteed shallots & baguette made the best breakfast. Up In Smoke was perfect as a snack with Trader Joe's Pita Bite Crackers. The Cape Foulweather was perfect for a brioche & fig preserve grilled cheese. I'd definitely recommend making your way through the forest to find this gem of a farm.

I've been a fan of the tortes (my favorite being the Goat Cheese Frangelico with nuts, vanilla and brown sugar!! Just like ice cream!), but wanted to visit a working local cheese producing farm in Oregon. On that pretext my friends and I embarked on a "cheesecation". After a long drive past OSU, the green and lush pastures of Philomath, and just as the mountains and fresh salt air tell you the beach is near, we find our way there. This farm is in very rural Oregon, and beautiful valleys snugly hold the river and the farm in their palm. A great tiny banner greeted us at the gate, and we immediately smelled not goat, but cheese. Amazing! The farm is exceedingly tidy, and the family is delightful to talk to. They really love their goats, and the goats are a herd of around 55 very sweet little creatures. I don't know goats well, so I couldn't tell you the breeds. There were a few sheep as well. The cheese is stellar. The best I have had. I have eaten a LOT of goat cheese in my career at a distributor, but if you can find a better one, please send a note my way. The Siletz Goat log, with a crust of bloomy edible rind was my next favorite after the tortes. It was deliciously creamy, salty and piquant with a hit of grass but NO usual goatiness. The pate on the cheese was tender but flaky, and tends toward soft and spreadable when aged. Also their small goat cheese balls in olive oil with Rosemary and Peppercorn are excellent. Creamy, milky and delicious. Soft and supple but very pliable on the tongue and nice mouth-feel. You get the Rosemary right on the sides fo the tongue. Check out the web-site for more info!! Not as many farmers and producers present on a Wednesday but this is still a great market even with fewer participants. We filled up our cooler with fresh produce including organic salad greens, kira squash, romano beans, multiple kinds of grapes, kumquats (no kidding...the farmer grows these in a hoop house with other citrus), eggplant, and multiple kinds of pears, apples and plums. We also had a chance to talk to quince farmers who make quince paste, a fav of ours with Fall and Spanish cheese selections, and buy a couple of jars to tuck away. And bread selections from Wild Yeast including small rounds of sourdough whole wheat, hazelnut and cinnamon raisin batard all of which were available in whole loaf and smaller half loaf sizes. Wild Yeast mini rye pastry galette with local mixed apples as filling was the perfect breakfast treat and the mini Marguerite fougasse and cranberry Swiss cheese roll were dinner that night at our destination. If we lived in the Corvallis area we would be regular shoppers here and be able to buy the things like a marvelous assortment of microgreens, fresh made cheeses, pollinator plants and all sorts of produce that we didn't have room to bring home. ACCESSIBILITY: Street surfacing which is firm and stable works for shoppers of all abilities and since I was using a wheelchair on this trip I particularly appreciated that. Although the ADA is 33 years old and requires outdoor markets to be on surfaces that allow everyone equal access you would be astounded how many still set up on deep gravel lots or deep grass, neither of which allow disabled shoppers access. We even plan our summer vacations to get to places where we can pick and eat fresh berries. We read about Sunset Valley Blueberries last year and the lengths they go to to get good berries impressed us. Last year we ordered a couple of large boxes of dried berries and ate the rehydrated berries over the winter. The dried blueberries were good. This year we tried the frozen - ordered 30 lbs. They really take their shipping seriously. Shipped wrapped in a plastic bag in a box. The box is in a styrofoam container like the ones sold in stores with dry ice inside of it. The styrofoam container is put into another shipping box. You really have to work to extricate the bag of berries from the setup, but I suspect it is worth it to get the berries in good shape. We are in Wisconsin which is about a thousand miles from Oregon. We've been eating the Wilt Farm blueberries over the past 3 weeks. We've compared them with the other brands of frozen organic blueberries. The Wilt farms berries beat the other organic berries hands down. The other berries defrost to a purple color and leak juice. The Wilt Farms berries stay blue. The Wilt Farm berries don't bleed as much when they are defrosted and they hold together, keep their shape and texture better. They have a nice mouth feel. They approximate fresh berries, and they are wonderfully sweet. They are the closest thing to fresh as you can get. I am impressed. They are pricey, $185 for a 30 lb box which includes the shipping, but frankly they are worth it and you could spend $180 a lot more foolishly than to buy great tasting organic blueberries. We just ordered our second box of the season. If it is any different I will be back to change this rating.
