Starbucks Double Shot and Humble Bee Honey
    Sandra L.

We stopped by on a rainy Friday afternoon as we passed by heading down Hwy 18. The store is really cute and has the basic necessities along with local candy, popcorn and jerky and good selection of wine and beer. I bought a jar of honey that is from Oregon not local, but not an issue for me. They have a big chalk menu board with a good selection of sandwiches. We decided to try a burger even though we were not hungry. When ordering we asked the person at the counter, who is also the cook if the burger is good. The person said "pretty good". I was a little surprised she didn't talk up the burger or any other menu item we asked about. Despite the lack of enthusiasm the burger was really good! The 1/3 lb patty was cooked as requested juicy and fresh. It was topped with a nice looking tomato but a sad piece of white iceberg lettuce I removed. My suggestion is leave it off or shred it. The bun was toasted perfectly both underside and on top which helped to hold the juicy burger together. For the fair price of $12 for an À la carte burger we will stop by again.

Great wine selection from maysara winery

This is such a cute little store out in the middle of no were with all sorts of nicknacks. It has a great wine selection from Maysara winery which is just up the hill. Bellevue Country store has local treats that are sold there one of which is the "One Fork Farm" they are caramels that are made right there in the store.

Pesto Manifesto sandwich- look at that cheese!

Looking for a delicious sandwich? A bottle of wine? Road snacks? This place is a must stop! I got the pesto manifesto without tomatoes and my husband got the Rueben. Delish!

A couple of tables and stools inside to enjoy a quick bite before heading to the coast or back home : )

Unfortunately, the way we were treated made us feel anything but welcome. Our 3-year-old was playing with the toy bin they provide for kids inside, while we were mainly gathered outside. Like any toddler, he made a mess, but I was mindful of it and cleaned up after him when asked. About 15-20 minutes later, I noticed the entire toy bin had been removed. When I asked the staff member (manager?) why, her response was curt and dismissive--essentially saying she was tired of cleaning up after kids. She even said she "had kids too," but the tone felt more like scolding than understanding. I explained that we come to places like this because they advertise themselves as family-friendly. Instead of hospitality, we were made to feel like a burden, as though children weren't actually welcome. The worst part was overhearing her continue to talk about us to others while we were still there. That crossed the line from unprofessional to just plain rude. We ended up leaving and taking our business elsewhere. For parents constantly searching for places to enjoy a beer while their kids have space to play, I can confidently say Heater Allen is not it. If you don't want children there, don't advertise as kid-friendly--it's misleading and creates an experience that feels hostile for families.

Both servers were SO friendly and did such a good job despite being understaffed. Our server had a purple shirt who had the most amazing attitude and was so friendly! The food was great! Bread was toasted perfectly. However some of the Chips were so salty and inedible The wildcat burger was perfectly spicy, not too much spice at all! So well balanced. Just what we needed. Beautiful restaurant, we really expected a bit of a crowd. We were seated and greeted, waters were provided with menus. We started our meal experience by telling our waiter that we planned to do a progressive dinner down 3rd Street. We were met with a rather disappointed / disheartened response. Their menu was absolutely stunning. Lots of great options. As this was our first stop of the evening, we went for an appetizer. The Albacore Confit absolutely out of this world. Ridiculously good. Huge portion, plated beautifully. Wonderful for the three of us to share. We all raved at how lovely the dish was. Drinks were absolutely fabulous. Gin martini was SOLID. My partner didn't care for his wine but it was a first-time try, that isn't the fault of the restaurant. The Dolores O'Riordan martini was absolutely wonderful. The bar was timely with drinks, which is always appreciated. Overall, ambiance, food, and drink were AMAZING! Absolutely a 5-star experience. However, service just did not slap. We could have survived with the disheartened response at us only staying for one-course but the end of our time with Grounded Table kinda kicked us all in the butt. As they handed me the check, we were met with "We hope you can join us for an entire meal sometime". The inflection was just catty and unnecessary. Trying to look past it, I continued to complete the check but after they departed the table, my dinner-mates both whispered under their breath "that did not just happen, how rude!" Meh, this could hae been the easiest 5-star review ever. The attitude of our server kinda blew the entire experience, the comment was unnecessary.
