On our first morning in our new town, we went to The Original Pancake House for breakfast. It was a simple meal, but one we were grateful we could afford. When we asked for the check, our server smiled and told us someone had already paid for it. That small act of kindness made me feel like I truly belonged in our new home. It reminded me that even in an unfamiliar place, there were good people who cared about others. Since that day, every time we visit The Original Pancake House, we make it a point to pay it forward whenever we can. It's our way of honoring the kindness that meant so much to us and has stuck with me. Beyond the beautiful memory, the food is incredible. It's hands down the best breakfast I've ever had. Comfort food that tastes like it's made with love. You must try the Dutch baby! The ladies who work there are always so warm and welcoming, making every visit feel like coming home. Some restaurants serve great food. This one gave my family hope when we needed it most, and I'll never forget that.

The Original Pancake House in Eugene is a charming, family-friendly spot with genuine warmth and stellar coffee. The casual, lively vibe makes it feel like the proper brunch destination you'd hope for from a legendary breakfast joint. We ordered their hero dish--a side of buttermilk pancakes--and the Irish Omelette. The pancakes delivered real flavor: fluffy, tender, with classic buttermilk tang. My only critique? They arrived cool, likely from sitting in the warmth window a bit too long. Off the griddle, these would shine. The Irish Omelette was more disappointing. Designed to be airy and light with corned beef and potatoes inside, ours was overcooked and rubbery--far from the delightful, pillowy texture it should be. For a restaurant with this history, execution should be consistent. The coffee and service were warm and attentive, which goes a long way. 3/5 stars. Worth visiting for atmosphere, especially if your pancakes arrive hot. Try during slower service to avoid the window-sit fate. The Portland location executes at a higher level.

They use the original recipes and quality ingredients for all pancakes and waffles. In my opinion, their quality and taste shows... and is well worth it. 2. No wait on a weekday morning around 11:30 a.m. Weekends, however are another matter! The wait is worth it 3. I can vouch for the Dutch Baby, French Crepes, Cherry Kijafa Crepes and Pumpkin Pancakes. These are my favorites along their egg specialties. These are my absolute favorites. 4. My waitress today was friendly, personable and responsive. What more can one ask for? 5. The ambiance? Classic American family-style diner. 6. While the price might be a bit higher than what you are used to, remember that inflation includes the cost of ingredients and everything else that goes into running a restaurant business. This place is worth it.

Route 99 in Brooks has agreed to let me pick up food and bring it back to my sick wife. We've had many good memories here; sadly, one person at the front blew up the base of our long-held tradition. Oh well, Route 99 doesn't mind that my wife is sick and fighting for her life and have helped us to continue the tradition elsewhere. Sadly, Elmers does, and their customer service is shit. But that's what new traditions are for.

Prior to our visit, I called the restaurant on Thursday to inform staff that a party of nine would be coming in on Sunday to celebrate two birthdays. When I arrived with my group, I mentioned that I had called ahead and that someone had written down our party of nine. Instead of simply helping us get seated, the staff member at the front began lecturing me that the restaurant "does not take reservations." I was not trying to argue about reservations--I was simply explaining that I had called ahead as a courtesy. I asked that we just be seated for nine people, but the lecturing continued even after I repeated that I only wanted to be seated. Unfortunately, the experience became even more upsetting once we were ordering. Both my mother and I have had bariatric surgery. As many restaurants allow, we presented the medical card we carry from our doctor that explains we are allowed to order from the children's menu due to the strict portion limitations required after bariatric surgery. Despite showing this card to the waitress and explaining the situation, your manager denied our request to order from the kids' menu. This was extremely disappointing and frankly very inappropriate. The card clearly explains that this accommodation is medically necessary and recommended by our doctors. Denying it without consideration shows a lack of understanding and compassion toward customers with medical needs. Between being lectured at the door and then having a medically supported request denied, the overall experience was very frustrating and embarrassing in front of my entire party. This is not the level of hospitality or respect customers should expect when dining out. I hope you will take this complaint seriously, review how this situation was handled, and provide additional training to staff and management on how to properly address customer concerns and medical accommodations. If I could leave negative stars I would.

Went to restroom then sat by the wall near the cooks station. A middle aged nice lady came and first brought us colas, apologized for for no ice, then I just ordered my standby chicken fried steak. When it came , it seemed rounder than I remembered but I cut into it and took a bite, the texture was off so I showed my daughter, it seemed kind of pink inside, and so we cut into the other piece, and it was pink and definitely chicken. I waited til she made her round and I excused myself and showed her that I didn't think it was chicken fried steak. She looked she apologized and said she had ordered chicken fried chicken for me accidentally. She said, would you like me to change out your meat to steak I said, please. She proceeded to scrape the meat and gravy off my plate onto a small one then she wiped the edge of my plate with my napkin. She returned about 5 to 10 minutes later with a plate with steak on it and new gravy she asked me to cut into it. to see for sure if it was steak. I cut into it and all kinds of pink water came out. I said that's not blood. My daughter said no I don't think so. I think it just cooked too fast and was frozen. I ate a bite and then I was over it. She asked if I wanted a box to take it with me. I said sure thinking thinking maybe in the Motel I would warm it up. She offered to take 15% off the cost of the meal which she did. When I got to the register, I handed my debit card to my daughter had to take care of it and told her to make sure to tip her. I got back to the motel, and I didn't even have anything to eat the food with if I wanted to, so I'm just letting you know I think I'm done with Denny's for a while. It was a horrible day capped off by a horrible meal. And although the lady tried to be nice, it was all a big mess.
