Casey and crew were absolutely incredible! Fun, friendly, yet utterly professional when it was called for. The staff went WAYYY above and beyond with their hospitality to ensure we had an awesome time. I spoke with Casey a few times leading up to our trip, with a few questions/concerns/requests, and he 100% made me feel like we were in the right hands, like a VIP, turns out we were indeed! She also filmed several clips of our adventure which turned out great. José, the photographer took some amazing shots of our trip. The pictures captured the thrill and excitement we all experienced going down the rapids. Brian, our guide was also amazing. He was calm, professional, guided us well and kept us safe. We took advantage of the whole experience Zephyr offers and camped the night before as well as doing the 2 day rafting experience. The King's River Base camp Zephyr has is an all inclusive experience depending on what options you choose to purchase from them. The staff cam provided everything including tents if needed so that you can focus on having fun rafting. Not only are the guides excellent at navigating the river and tailoring the experience to all levels they are amazing camp cooks too! If you have never been white water rafting before this is the perfect place to get your feet wet, and if you are experienced you will enjoy the ease of rafting with these folks! Dustin has many years experience, was personable and social, and shared a wonderful outlook on rafting and life which was really cool and perceptive . His safety talk was on point as well. Very likeable and knowledgeable, this Dustin! The facilities were good with clean wooden stalls to change clothes, port-a-potties available, wetsuits loaned to us, and plenty of parking available. We were fortunate in that another party canceled at the last minute, and instead of canceling on us for too few customers, Dustin and Zephyr management allowed us to raft anyway and we got Dustin and Erica to ourselves! Not to mention the whole Merced river to ourselves. What a day of beauty, peace, all mixed in with fun rapids! The photos were great too. The photographer followed us down the river w/ his car and took great shots all the way down! The service and rafting could not be better, with a beautiful river, climate, and great guides to lead us. We'd return in a heartbeat and will return hopefully next year. Fun for kids, but not for parents. Kiosk opens at 8am, but families are queued up before 7am to get…read morerafts or bikes. Only one person at cash register, so the line looks like it could take about an hour to pay. If you get a bike, only one person there too, so you wait another 30 minutes or so to get a bike. If you raft, you need to go 30 minutes early for safety briefing that lasts maybe 5 minutes. They tell you to stop and enjoy the beaches, but get to the raft shuttle back in two hours. We got in the water around 12:05pm and finished around 1:49pm. Then, no shuttle came to take us back until around 3:17pm. That was almost 90 minutes waiting around with kids and no water. Better bring sneakers with you and be prepared to walk back 2.5 to 3 miles to Curry Village. Don't believe Aramark if they say you can also take the free shuttle. The families left stranded by the raft shuttle waited 90 minutes for those too. Most of those were so full, they only took two of the 30 people waiting at the four mile stop, or drove past without stopping. The shuttle driver didn't have a phone or radio. Customer service from the contact us page was no help. They called back after 30 minutes, then put me on hold for another 15 minutes. The manager Skye wouldn't talk to the families who were left stranded. She sent four other people (two at the shuttle area and two in Curry Village) to talk to us, but not help us. They wrote down her email address and told us to email her.

We had a party of four first timers, My mom, myself, and my two boys (14 & 10) and we did the afternoon adventure. EVERYONE had an absolute blast. It was the highlight of our trip and one of the most fun things we have done in years. This really is an adventure. You will be bouncing all over the raft and working in sync as a team to line yourself up for the best past through wild waters. The guides are amazing at keeping everyone locked in and also sharing the beauty of the river. I cannot recommend this excursion enough! Some details on the family option: You drive in to their supervised lot, park your vehicle, and after 30 min of putting on gear and going through instructions you jump in the rafts and go down river for about 4 miles to the lake where you are picked up by a bus and brought back to the lot. The whole trip took about 2.5 hours but I would expect some variance. There were two spots in the run where you can jump in the water and swim around for a bit. One parting thought is that if you are in the area and you see the river you may think you have an idea of what it looks like, but I was truly taken aback by the beauty of the scenery from the perspective of the winding path of the river. You really do get to see a view that is just as unique and special as any park trail.

Also gave us wrong directions as we tried to get off at the halfway point & the guy told us no to keep going till the next beach area & there was none. So when we got to the next checkpoint the worker told us no we couldn't get off & that he should have let us off but that they were trying to push all the boats thru cause it was a weekday. Then there was an issue with the shuttle so we had to wait about 45 minutes. You're basically on your own trying to figure stuff out. Definitely would but. Do the same company Again as they seemed very young & they didn't seem to care.
