All the bridesmaids but one had Shawna do her hair, and Shawna ended up having to fix the maid who didn't have Shawna do it originally. The vibe went downhill when the bridesmaid whose hair Dana did required an overhaul. Dana became openly hostile and the Bride was really upset with the behavior because it made everyone feel tense and took away from the fun of the day because having to fix the hair caused us to be really late for pictures. Several of the bridesmaids commented on Dana's attitude and her lack of customer service. Shawna and Annette did a fantastic job and the results are amazing! Annette came over to the wedding venue to do touch ups for the Bridal party. The spa facility is nice, plush and comfortable but not overdone.

I would give the spa 5 stars because overall our experience there was great, they let me set up an appointment on sunday, where they are normally closed. We had Kenny and his wife do our massges and from what me and my boyfriend concluded, they were great massages and they were very professional. i dont like talking during my massages and from what my boyfriend said and what Kenny did for me they were very focused into the massage and not chatty. they both did some work with hot stones and it was a first and they were a nice surprise and felt great. the only thing i had a little issue was when i first tried scheduling the appointment, the week before coming to San Juans, the first lady i talked to wasnt the spa director but she was very nice and gave me as much information as she could until the spa director herself would be able to get in touch with me. I didnt get a call back that day so i had to call again the next day, where i couldnt get a hold of the salon after multiple calls until i left a message. the director was helpful in the information she gave me but she did seem to be rushing me trying to get my appointment down and my information, so that was little odd for me.

I had tested out several mainland spray tanning salons leading up to the wedding with mixed results, so I was nervous how it would go. But Chelsea fit us in last minute and did an outstanding job, with different levels of tan for each of our preferences, including two of my group who hadn't had a spray tan before. All weekend we couldn't stop telling each other how perfect our tans looked and how good we felt about it. If you have an island event, book with Chelsea!! Now I just need to find excuses to travel to the island to get more spray tans with her ;) (I wanted to let people know about Chelsea so much that I am adding her business to Yelp in order to do that. I had completed my trial run with another makeup artist and was so excited for my wedding. I emailed every makeup artist I could find in the area, frantically trying to find someone. Ashely saved me from despair when she messaged me back very quickly, although she was out of the country. She was responsive to emails and we quickly got the contract signed. She was unavailable, but informed me that her assistant, Megan, would be available. Megan was early for the trial and came to me at the hotel (the day before the wedding, as that's the only time I was available). She did an excellent job and was super receptive to feedback! She arrived early again the following day and set up while I was getting my hair done. She did an absolutely EXTRAORDINARY job on my makeup. She integrated all of my feedback from the trial (all personal preference, I just didn't want any eyeliner) and I felt beautiful, but still natural. The makeup stayed on all night, which was amazing! She also provided me with a cute touchup kit, Ashley had picked out a lip color for me - which was PERFECT (based on the photo I sent, which I wanted duplicated, from my previous trial run with the other makeup artist). She also included lip gloss, cotton swabs, etc. I am just so happy that things worked out the way they did so I was able to have Megan do my makeup for my wedding day. Wow. Where to start about Sarah? I did not plan originally to have my makeup done professionally…read morefor my wedding until my hair stylist suggested it on my practice session. I was planning on doing myself. I don't wear a lot of makeup anyway, I can do it myself. Yadda yadda yadda. This is one of those decisions that in hindsight I would never question again. I wasn't really interested in futzing with fake eyelashes on my big day. We paid for a good photographer and even though I have good skin, every single imperfection and discoloration and anything will show up on the high quality photos and BOY AM I GLAD I sprung for getting my makeup done. I can tell as my photographer took pictures of me before and during my makeup application and I saw flaws and spots and pinkness in my skin (around my nose etc) that I never realized was there. All of that vanished under flawless makeup Sarah applied. Sarah took my suggestions for color and ran with them. She is meticulous and has the utmost attention to detail. She does not rush. She does not over do it. In the end my makeup was FLAWLESS and added beautiful shades of color to my face without looking like I was wearing too much. I have never felt so beautiful in my life. Her application of fake lashes will put any other makeup artist's to shame! I couldn't even tell where my lashes were and where the fake lashes were upon scrutinizing in the mirror up close. They would have stayed on for DAYS. So would the rest of the makeup. She uses MAC/high quality waterproof that will not come off in rain or with the inevitable tears, etc. On a side note, she is just the type of person you'll want on your big day. You really feel like she is focusing on every detail and she is not rushing or distracted. She really makes you feel like she is dedicated to doing her best work for you and 100% focused on you. She was early to our appointment. I could go on and on. Sarah has a working relationship with Honey Salon and can do makeup in their *beautiful* space. Very convenient as I did both my practice sessions and my big day hair and makeup in the same spot. She charges a fair price - you really get what you pay for with this one. Just hire her for your event. You will not regret it.
