I tried to call to schedule an appointment and could not reach the office. They asked me a bunch of questions and was on the phone for 20 minutes only for them to transferred me to the nurse station. There is no way to even call the office without now going through Sentara. When I finally got through with the nurse they send me to the ER. My doctor would have never send me to the ER for just and UTI. They do not care about the "Personal" interaction any more. I hate this office now. I miss my doctor a lot and the small office not some robotic agency. Dr. John was a great doctor and was very personal in the past. I'm guessing the change to be Sentara was a business decision that relieves Dr. John and his previous staff of day to day issues but it's a horrible change!!! Now we can't even talk to the office. If this is now the new normal with the change to Sentara it's definitely not patient oriented or in anyone's best interest. Actively looking for another doctor.

I had to come with my grandmother for an injury, where she required stitches. It took well over an…read morehour and a half before being seen to be initially evaluated.. despite the bleeding and pain being experienced. She then had to come back due to the stitches becoming infected. Once we were being seen the second time, the doctor did NOT seem knowledgeable or professional when handling the situation. When she needed the stitches removed she had to REMIND them to cleanse/disinfect the area prior to proceeding... Specifically Dr. Tran as oversight and PA pfaff. At the second visit she was there for over 4 hours. So besides the insane wait times, the staff seems swamped. They are honestly in need of some evaluation themselves as far as this location goes, and staffing appropriately to prevent this. The only solution is more staff to accommodate seeing as this IS the one stop before more urgent places like the ER. If i could rate this place less than one star i would- Ive had my own negative experiences with this place before this was highly disappointing.

Dr. Farah has been my primary physician for about 4 years. He also answers my endless stream of questions thoughtfully, never giving me the impression that I am annoying him or taking up his precious time. He was instrumental in helping me through a very dangerous and scary period of illness. I was quickly having trouble breathing and becoming feverish. He ran tests and gave me a prescription to cure bronchitis...which it did, but I was still unable to breathe. It turns out that I had developed environmental/allergic asthma. During this scary month, I knew that I was in good hands with Dr. Farah. Furthermore, he recommended specialists who share the same characteristics. My asthma is now under control. I have recommended Dr. Farah to my husband and my close friends. He is an internist, so his specialty is adult care, not pediatrics. I took my wife here last Friday afternoon with appendix pain and she was seen and had a room right away. Its efficient in there and super clean. They then transferred her to the main hospital and she was good to go. Both this location and the other Sentara nurses both recommended to come straight here when you have a problem. The main hospital is too crammed with ambulances coming in so DON'T go there. Also if you need a main doctor check out Mt. Vernon Internal Medicine upstairs - it's a really great doctors office and they're super nice.

Fast forward, they've become a private practice and again... the mood felt shifted. Lighter and better. Very unpleasant experience. I woke up to my neighbor's moving trailer blocking my car from exiting…read moremy driveway. After finding them and begging them to move, I called to let them know what was going on and was told they would only accept me if I arrived in 4 mins. Luckily I was 3-4 mins away by that point, so I arrived and the lady told me my "appointment was already cancelled". I wish they wouldn't accept new patients if they didn't want to be understanding. I have a great deal of anxiety in dealing with doctors and I had been doing lots of positive affirmations to get myself ready for a new doctor, now I'm just going to love my life and hope for the best. I can't go through that again. Avoid!!!!!

Leslianne Grendysz is the best practitioner I have ever had. She listens to everything you say…read more and always has the right diagnosis. She is caring and compassionate too. She recently told me I should see a sleep specialist because I complained I was gaining weight and felt I never slept well, because I kept waking up. She was right on! I was diagnosed with sleep apnea with it being really bad during my REM sleep. My mammogram patients who also have her are always praising how much they love having her for their practitioner. We never never want to lose her!!!
