She tried her best to get through taking vitals and everything so the doctor could see us as soon as he was done with the several patients ahead of us. She was so kind, and that made the experience less stressful--no one wants to have a problem bad enough for an urgent care but this one was trustworthy!

Dr. Kim performed no real assessment and offered no solutions beyond a basic urinalysis. I had to ask for bloodwork, and I also had to ask for a prescription to help manage the pain I was experiencing. There was no attempt to investigate the cause of my symptoms or provide meaningful guidance. I was essentially told that if I wanted any real effort in diagnosing the issue, I should go to the ER or see my primary care physician--making the urgent care visit feel pointless. The entire interaction felt rushed and dismissive. Dr. Kim seemed impatient and irritated by my questions, and the initial consult lasted no more than three minutes before he excused himself, saying he had other things to do. I left feeling unheard, unsupported, and no closer to understanding or resolving my symptoms. This experience fell far short of what I would expect from an urgent care visit, especially when seeking help for something painful and concerning.

An X-ray was taken that same day, and I was told there were no fractures, just a simple flesh wound. I was not given any medication, no antibiotics, and not even basic instructions on how to care for the injury (despite me asking). I was simply told to go home and come back in a week. If my mother, who is a nurse, had not guided me through daily wound care, I would have been completely lost and the wound would have gotten infected. When I returned seven days later, I was suddenly told that the first X-ray had actually shown a fracture, and that antibiotics had been written in my chart but this was never communicated to me. By this point, I could not even make a fist with that finger , and only then was I referred to a hand orthopedic doctor. That referral should have been made immediately so the internal injury could be treated before the outer wound began healing. If my finger does not heal properly, I fully intend to take legal action. The level of negligence I experienced is unacceptable, and no one's health should ever be treated this carelessly.

They are a teaching practice which I appreciate even if it takes a little more time. They are extremely thorough and never rushed and I feel like I have a good rapport with my doctor. He takes me and my health concerns seriously and patiently. His students are always thoughtful as well. My husband and son also use the practice (and my daughter probably will also when she graduates from her pediatrician). Insurance billing and copay has always gone smoothly and prescriptions come through quickly or they're handed to you for you to fill as necessary. There is evidence to support that teaching practices yield better care and my experiences here back this up. A wonderful place for lifelong care.

I really really used to like them... alot. they were my childhood doctors and i was excited when…read morethey were listed on my approved doctor listing as i got older. Idont know when they decided to partner with emory but in my opinion it is a huge mistake. there is NO REASON for an appointment to take 2 hours and 15 min when i am just coming in to change to new blood pressure medications. The waiting room as like 10 min. got calld back, was told my fatness and blood pressure as usual... then i sit there... and sit there, this little twinkydink comes in and explains that he is not the doctor... ( well no duh) then proceeds to ask me a hundred questions and starts making comments for things that need to be done like tests... no sweet heart. ive had my kidney condition my whole life, I know what it is.. you obviously dont... or you wouldnt be making the assumptions you are making... then another 25 min wait for the doctor while i can hear the doc in training telling the doctor everything we just talked about right outside the door... then they both come in. and its 20 more questions.. its just akward and uncomfortable. I feel like the personal relationship you buiild with your doctor has gone out the window. and the last cpl times the nurse has called she was really rude... I think its time for a new doctor.. one that wont take half a day to refill a script...

This place is awesome…read more I've seen some 1-Star reviews for this place. They are either lying or they're the type of patients who are crazy or trying to use their doctor as a drug dealer. I brought my significant others here and the doctors here solved in 15 min what other practices had failed to figure out for 3 years for her. Every doctor her or I have seen here is TOP NOTCH! (I see Dr. Hunter). Emory has a practice of responsible prescribing, so if you're trying to get a fix, go somewhere else. If you want accurate diagnosis and solutions to your health problems that work, this is the place for you! If you read negative, bitchy reviews, don't believe them. This place is fantastic.

I needed to get a physician's assessment and TB test for my aunt with Alzheimer's as part of the…read moreregulatory requirements for getting her into assisted living. By chance, she had her annual wellness visit coming up, so I thought getting those small things done as part of the visit would be quick and easy. It was not. Despite being scheduled to see her GP, we ended up seeing a different doctor, who was reluctant to do the assessment. She eventually agreed, but would not give the paperwork to us without a power of attorney, despite the fact that my aunt was right there. She also ordered a TB test, although apparently they couldn't draw her blood or do any of her vaccines in her office for reasons. I offered to run home and get it, but she insisted that I needed to make another appointment, but did allow that I didn't need to bring my aunt back. I really needed the form, so I agreed and made an appointment in the earliest available slot, the following week. I returned as scheduled, PoA in hand, only to be told that now they couldn't give me the paperwork because my aunt wasn't present. After much arguing, they finally agreed that if I could get my aunt onto a video call they would do a tele-health appointment and restart the process from the beginning. After an hour of waiting on call with my aunt, the doctor finally showed up and we got the assessment. Shortly after this, the results for the TB test I'd taken her to the lab to get started came through. I immediately called the doctor's office and asked them to send the results to the assisted living facility. They agreed to do so. By the beginning of the next week, they had not done it. The facility called and asked for their information to see if they would have any more luck getting the paperwork from the office. They did not. At that point it had been nearly two weeks since I started the process, and the doctor's office was still stalling us at every point. I'd kept the original copy of the assessment, so all I needed was the TB test result. I decided to get it myself. Unfortunately, Emory had somehow managed to get a phone number none of us recognized as the two factor authentication on her MyChart, and even with my aunt asking personally they would not give us access. After a couple of hours of frustration, I decided it would be faster to go down to the doctor's office and request a copy in person. I was wrong. I showed up, in person, with a medical PoA and advanced directive, with mom, my aunt's emergency contact, in tow, and requested the test results. They would not give them to us. I called my aunt, and she talked to them personally. They would not give us the test results. I have never seen anything like this, a medical practitioner refusing to hand over test results despite requests from literally every single person with any kind of interest or legal standing to ask, including the patient. At this point, my mom was literally crying in their office because they would not let us get my aunt into a safer living environment. They did not care. We obviously knew she didn't have TB, because we weren't in quarantine telling CDC doctor's who we'd seen in the last week. But they wouldn't actually tell us that. Eventually, after an insane amount of time, they gave us a literally worthless, unsigned letter saying she didn't have TB, but they wouldn't give us the test results. I finally gave up and went home, and after a couple more hours of headaches managed to get into MyChart and download the results. I understand that medicine can be litigious, but there comes a point where legal protections compromise patient care. Emory Family Medicine is far past that point. I think it's fair to say that they no longer practice medicine in any meaningful form, and are now just a legal mitigation strategy firm. The level of care and concern they showed for my aunt was non-existent. They delayed a meaningful improvement in my aunt's circumstances for a ridiculous length of time for no reason except to cover their own asses. They should be ashamed to claim to be healers.
