He charged my friend TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS for the ride. I immediately called them to see of there was an error. The man on the phone said she agreed to it so I am not in the wrong at all. Abusive. Don't EVER use this cab company. Not only are they rude but they are NEVER on time. Called last week and begged them to rush because I didn't want to miss my train and they promised me they would. Got to me 20 minutes later, and I missed my train. This time around I called way in advance, saw nothing, called to see it's status and the guy rudely told me another 15 minutes and didn't care one be about customer service. After I told him I wanted to cancel he kept ignoring me saying the cab is coming. Oh and on top of that, they hire incompetent drivers that seem like they can barely even have a license. Unreliable. Almost missed a flight because they were late. I only tried to give them another chance because, as consolation, they gave me a code to use going forward for a set, discounted price. However, when I called to book, they refused to honor the price they quoted me. Okay guys, I had to move that day. Friendly's is a great taxi service in LI. I totally recommend it. The good: 1- Cab guy (Karan) came 30 mins earlier than the booking, and waited patiently for me and my children. 2- Karan, my driver, helped load everything into the Lincoln Town Car. 6 pieces of luggage, and a stroller! Wow. 3- Karan off loaded everything with a smile on his face, and carried it up the stairs on a first floor walk up! Way to go. 4- Best rate in all of Long Island. I think I speak for most commuters when I say that the single most important trait of a taxi service is their timeliness. That being said, that turned out to be anything but the case in my particular situation. I had a job interview planned in the city and needed a cab to make it to the station to make a 1:30 train to Manhattan. I called up the dispatcher and scheduled a cab for 1:05, which would both bring me to the station in what would be a less than 3 minute drive and leave me with at least 15 minutes to spare before the train arrived. Around 1:12, I'm starting to get a little worried. The dispatcher promised me a cab at 1:05, but he was approaching 8 minutes late. I call him up and he promises that the cab is only minutes away, he even tells me that he sees their car on GPS approaching my address; I believe him and hang up. Six minutes later around 1:18 or so, I'm starting to get worried because their car STILL hasn't arrived. I call the dispatcher back and he assures me all is well. At 1:23, I call him up for the third time and get the same dispatcher on the line. At this point, I inform him that it's now or never because I NEED to be on that train by 1:30. You'd expect him to say the cab is right on my doorstep right?? I'll give him some points for being honest at this point, but as if things couldn't get worse, he chooses THIS specific moment to apologize and tell me that the car that was originally sent to get me had been delayed at least 25 minutes. What happened to the car that was supposedly just blocks away from my home? At this point, I tell the dispatcher to forget it, I ended up paying a construction worker down the street 20 bucks to drive me to the train station. Despite all his best efforts and 4 times the costs of a regular taxi ride, I end up STILL missing the train AND show up half an hour late to my job interview. Around 1:55, while waiting for the next train on the LIRR, I get a call from the dispatcher; apparently my cab has arrived... I'll cut them some slack because they seem to have a decent reputation to this point and there had been inclement weather on the day of; but despite those facts, a reliable taxi service NEEDS to be true to its word. If I can get more accurate predictions from my local weather channel about what the weather's going to be next week from than from my taxi service on whether my cab will get here within the next half hour, then I believe we have a problem, a major one. If you're going to make promises to your customers, you better make damn sure they're accurate. read more

Friendlys is the worst taxi service in America. They don't know the definition of the word reservation . Please excuse my language but screw the fact that they are in Pakistan. If they know enough english to be able to ask for money and able to ask for me to sign a form giving them money, then they should understand the definition of the word reservation. They should understand that if a person makes a reservation then they should have a driver ready to pick them up at that time. Instead they make up excuses as to why they have no drivers available.now I understand why almost all of the drivers and dispatchers have left. Not to mention- I have been using this taxi service for 12 years to get to work. Friendly taxi was there when Plandome Taxi wouldn't even venture out. There was a "blizzard" in NY the day before my relatives were supposed to fly into JFK. I tried to book a taxi ahead of time but Plandome wouldn't even take my reservation till the day they arrived. So I call Plandome Taxi knowing that their plane was in the air, like they asked me and they just said they have no taxis out on the road today. I thought at least after dinner they would have some taxis available but they flat out said no to me without even hearing when my guests where arriving. In a panic I turned to yelp as I am accustomed to do while I'm home in silicon valley and I find Friendly Taxi. I called them right away with my guests' flight information. All was honky dory till I found out one of my guests planes got canceled. I called friendly right away and they greeted me with my name even before I opened my mouth (good use of modern caller ID technology I tell ya) and they proceeded to tell me that my guest's plane was canceled and asked me if they were on a different flight. Talk about reading people's minds. Thankfully my guest told me she got onto a flight be in a totally different airport. When I told them that they said NO PROBLEM! When my guests finally un-board the plane all they had to do was call friendly taxi to find out where to meet them at the terminal and that was it. SO SIMPLE and easy! I will definitely be using them again. They were so friendly and courteous and pretty reasonable. read more

I have used this service for years. I had an account with them. I don't know what happened but it went from reliable and great to awful and uncaring. My family and I were flying home and I called for a cab to pick us up. I gave them the airline, airport, flight number, and arrival time. They OKed it. When I landed, they had not contacted me so I contacted them. The person who answered said "you landed early." We landed 15 minutes early but had to get our luggage which I told him. He said it would be 30 minutes. I wasn't happy but said OK. Ten minutes later, he texted me and said we could share a cab in 20 minutes. That made no sense since that would be the same 30 minutes. I told him we were a family of four and anyway the cab was coming in the same time. He said we wouldn't fit in the shared cab. He then told me that he couldn't raise the cab I had ordered and didn't know where it was. So I said to send another one. He said he didn't have one and what did I want him to do? He was annoyed with me. I said what I wanted was the cab I ordered. He again asked me what I wanted him to do. I asked if he was telling me that there would be no cab. He got annoyed again and said there would not be one. So there we were with no way home and the guy was mad at me. I never received notice of this or I would have made other arrangements which I now had to do. As it was last minute, the cost was a lot higher than usual. I asked the dispatcher what "friendly" cab would do for me. Would it at least pay the difference? He said no and got angry with me again. He told me that they might, and emphasized "might" give me a $20 discount on my next ride. The difference was way more than the maybe $20. When I finally got angry back, he said a supervisor would get back to me and hung up. No one ever did get back. I had to call an Uber and pay through the nose. "Friendly" never called me; never apologized; never offered to make it up or even accepted responsibility. And this after years of use and an account. I get that things can go badly. But accept responsibility, and try to make it up. Instead they blamed me. I will never use them again and I will tell everyone I know that they are an uncaring and irresponsible company. I have been stood up by this company three times now. Once, no one showed and when I called back I got no answer. Another time, at 3am, and I was left stranded at the train station with a sprained ankle. LAST TIME EVER one week ago when I was told on the phone that my ride would be there in ten minutes. I waited twenty and called back, only to be told it would be another 45. They take my number "just in case" every time but NO ONE ever calls to let me know why I am being stood up. I had a long standing deal with Friendly Taxi but after years and years of using their service (most of the time), a new owner stepped in or a new manager who decided not to honor my deal nor let me know of change of fee's. I was not only charged more without being told of the charge but as they also add a tip to the driver, I want money back as I almost always tip the driver in cash and that was part of my deal. Flat fee to the airport, tip in cash (I tipped more than they tip their own drivers) but would put 0 on the tip. A call with new charge to a long standing customer would have been nice. I have used LYFT and UBER and they are cheaper and cars are cleaner. So, I guess I go back to rideshare services after 25 years of working with Friendly Taxi read more

Recently used Friendly Taxi to transport my family to Newark for an international flight. Our driver Felipe was an excellent host. He called the day before to confirm our travel plans and was very punctual about picking us up at the agreed upon time. He carefully loaded our luggage into the van and I saw that he always had such a pleasant smile on his face. We had a party of 4 passengers traveling with us. Felipe was also prompt in picking us up when we arrived back at the airport. The price was more reasonable than any of the other companies I checked with. If I could give this company zero stars, I absolutely would. Not only were they late, overbooked, rude and generally awful - they ruined an incredibly important night for a group of military families. We made a reservation for a 14 passenger van the day before the event, for transportation to and from and subsequently confirmed the times and the size of the vehicle the morning of. We planned to use this company to transport 15 family members to and from my sister's Senior Graduation Cruise from Pier 40. We left Kings Point, NY 15 minutes late. All 14 of us were waiting to be picked up when the driver called us to tell us that they were 2 minutes away... we waited another 15 minutes. Anyone familiar with the traffic getting in between LI and Manhattan, knows that those 15/20 minutes can be crucial. We barely made it to the pier in time, luckily we had budgeted more than extra time because my father is handicapped and takes a little more time to get around. Honestly, the traffic was awful (which was not their fault, of course) but they were already off to a rocky and very stressful start to the evening. We had reserved the same size van to pick us up 11:15 at the same location that we had been dropped off. My mother called the comoany to reconfirm the time and the size of the vehicle at 10pm. The man that answered the phone was extremely rude to her and demanded to know why she was calling since her reservation was already in the system. My mother explained that she just wanted to confirm that there would be a 14 person van for us at 11:15 - the man told her that her reservation was for a pick up from a different address. My mother corrected him that they needed to be picked up where they had dropped us off, per our reservation. The man subsequently hung up on her, she called them back to sort it out and he dismissed her saying that they would in fact be there per our reservation that he had in the system. We were a little concerned, mainly because it's very difficult for my father to take public transportation... which is why we had arranged for this service in the first place. 11:15 comes and goes, my mother calls, she identified herself and her reservation, they put her on hold. My father calls them while she's on hold and they inform him that they unfortunately overbooked and that we would have to wait an hour for any vehicle to pick some of our group up. What an absolute nightmare. This review is already long and exhaustive, so I won't include the details of how our group made it back out to Long Island without this company's services, but calling it a fucking pain in the ass is being polite. I'm just glad everyone made it back okay, but the entire experience was outrageous and unacceptable. Seriously, how many times did we call to confirm and remind them? What else could we have done to ensure we could have reliable transportation to and from the event? Take your business elsewhere. read more

Seems like they renovated their entire fleet! Five stars for sure! The dispatcher was professional and gave an honest and accurate estimate of the earliest available pickup time. The car was unbelievably spacious, immaculate and smelled like a new car (I think it was a new car!). My driver, Jimmy, was courteous, friendly and a very safe driver. Considering that the overall experience was comparable to an expensive, fancy, private car service, the fare was a bargain. I will definitely use Friendly taxi again and I highly recommend them. read more

I have used this service often and this service is the most used by myself and other U.S. Merchant Marine Academy midshipman due to its proximity to the Academy, however as of late I have started taking the bus. Their prices have steadily raised and they take longer to show up. I have had to wait 40 minutes numerous occasions and they did not show a couple of times. They also charge groups of us midshipman more than the normal rate for a ride to the Academy from the train station. They used to split the fair among us. They do have a number of friendly drivers that I have enjoyed talking with. A number of their taxis also are conveniently waiting at the times the train arrives. read more

Terrible car service that will be out of business very soon. Last year a car I was driving in of theirs, stalled on the Belt Parkway. We waited on the side of the road, cars whizzing past us. Called for a car from JFK to Great Neck the other day. It never showed up. When o called the dispatcher, after lying a few times, finally called the driver and found out he had stalled and the engine wouldn't go on. It's your own fault if you rely on them. Not such a reliable car service. They don't take reservations, and if for example, you need a cab to the train in 1 hour, they tell you to call back half an hour before you need to be there. When you call they tell you that you will need to wait 15-20 minutes for a cab which you will often be sharing with several other passengers. Oftentimes I just call friends until I get a ride because the friendly car service was just so unreliable. They do have pretty comfortable cars though, and the drivers are pretty decent. It's just that the operator is very bad with the management of the cabs and their timing. read more

Woman picks up saying "yo". Called to order a cab. They said it'll be 10-12 mins. I called again at 10:14. Same person says o s**t yeah 2 minutes. Get a confirmation text 2 minutes after that (clearly she forgot to put in the call). Cab comes 10 minutes after that and I miss my train. WILL BE USING GREAT NECK TAXI exclusively from here on out. Worst taxi in Great Neck! DO NOT USE THEM! They picked me up from JFK to go GN. The driver was extremely rude, he went to the wrong terminal & blamed me for not giving him the right one. I gave him the airline & the dispatcher never asked me which terminal. Only after I landeEd & waited, that I had to call to see where they were. He didn't turn on the a/c in the back, only for the front were he was seated. The dispatcher & driver didn't speak English very well either. I reserved a car for a new Board Member of my company. He needed to be taken less than 5 miles from our offices to a hotel after an extremely long day of meetings. The car was reserved more than 3 hours in advance and I received an email confirmation for a 4:45pm pick up. The last meeting ended early, so I called at 4:30 and asked if someone could send a car a few minutes early and I was told that a car would arrive in approximately 10 minutes. By 5:15pm the car never showed. When I called to complain and dispute my charges, they said that they tried calling the passenger "several times", but of course they lied. The people working in their offices can barely speak English and are very unprofessional. They have since refused to refund me for the car the never showed. read more

ZERO STARS!!! I'm forced to them 1 star. This is a taxi service that is not customer friendly at all! After struggling to get the operator to understand a simple request for a 14 passenger van, the operator quoted me a price for a 14 passenger van, charged our card and sent us a confirmation email of the charge (he initially forgot to send the email.) Then about 2-hours before the scheduled pickup they called us and said that they made a mistake on the quote and needed to add an additional 50% increase on the quote because he made a mistake. Clearly they lack customer service training. Never make a customer pay for your mistake. They cancelled their service because we would not agree to pay an increased quote price. This place is the opposite of what they're named. Friendly's is a lie. They are certainly not friendly. I called for a cab to come to my house so my girlfriend can make her train in time. We called at 2:25 and expected it to come from when the guy that was on the other line stated. He stated that he got my address, repeated it, got my cell number and set the reservation for it to come in 20-30 minutes. So me and my girlfriend expected it to come on time. We waited the time I stated and decided to give them a little after 30 minutes to come. I called after 35 minutes since there was no taxi outside or calling us. After I called back the man on the phone that spoke to me 35 minutes prior stated that I never called and didn't put my number or address in the system... I was infuriated and couldn't believe how ridiculous that was. I couldn't believe he said I never called and that there is six different people working in the office and none of them recognized my information. Please don't waste your time with this place. They didn't even apologize or try and fix the problem. This place is bogus and not great at all. Definitely wasted our time and made my girlfriend miss her train.
