While visiting the island and driving from Joyuda to Aguadilla we stopped by this location. It seems the name was updated along with the menu shown on Yelp. Staff was friendly, there was a young woman taking our orders and bringing us our food. There was only one other person eating while we were there, as it was on a Thursday morning. The tables are outside where they also have some fans to keep you cool. There was a friendly cat lounging around by the tables. When driving here, I suggest you slow down so you don't miss the parking entrance. Be on the lookout for a large wooden chair painted with the Puerto Rican flag right by the entrance. Wow. Wow. Wow. What an incredible spot this place is. I came here because of the perfect 5-star reputation and the wonderful reviews from fellow Yelpers, and yet my experience still exceeded all of already high expectations! They are located right off of route 102 (the main street in Mayaguez) and right across the street from the beach. Also, their parking lot is massive! If it wasn't for Covid, I'm sure this place would be bustling as the food, service, and the layout is absolutely perfect. I ordered the waffle sandwich. Yes, that's right... a waffle sandwich. It is essentially two sunny side up eggs, crispy bacon, lettuce and fresh cut avocado nestled in between two perfectly cooked waffles. I could literally have this every single morning. If that was the case, I'd certainly wake up each day with a gleaming smile and never have an urge to hit the snooze button again. My date ordered the pancakes, which included generous servings of fresh kiwi, bananas, strawberries and blueberries sprinkled on top. I tried a few bites and while I hate to be a broken record... Wow, wow, wow. They were some of the lightest, fluffiest and most delicious pancakes I've ever tried in my life. Each mouthful was like tasting a warm, sweet (but not too sweet) and airy cloud. Oh and also I can't forget to mention the cute birds. I'm not sure if they were blackbirds or baby crows (Hey I'm a foodie not an ornithologist!) but they were about 3 of them hanging out by us on the wooden railing. While I'm sure they were waiting for us to drop food, I like think that were simply hanging out and enjoying our company, just as I was enjoying there's. If you find yourself in Mayaguez and looking for a great outdoor breakfast or lunch spot, especially somewhere that takes health and safety as serious as they did, this is the spot for you! read more

Great place to stop and get breakfast. The waffle sandwich was delicious as were the regular waffles, the banana forester, and the house burger. Got smoothies (strawberry and peach) and the coffee which were all very yummy. We all left full and happy with the food and the service. Seating is outside but there are plenty of tables. I finally decided to eat at Friends Cafe after hearing a lot of people talk about this place. I definitely will visit again. I've gone 3 times with my husband. The first time we had the Zeta Burger and the House Burger. Both were delicious but we liked the Zeta one more. The second time we went we had the Zeta Burger again and tried the Churrasco wrap which was amazing. And the third time we ate the Churrasco wrap again and tried the chicken chorizo burger. Food is good not great, but their coffee is one of the best around the area. Definitely prices are way to high for a coffee shop and for the Puerto Rican economy, but then again their coffee will make you come back since their baristas show care in their craft which I can really appreciate. read more
