A very dear friend of mine officiated at a wedding held at Mulberry Vineyards and she invited me…read moreout to sample their current selection recently. When I arrived she and her husband were having a very genial conversation with the owner Dave at the outdoor seating area. The vineyard is clearing some land and the entrance drive, at the time of my visit, was strewn with downed timber and a large dirt parking area at the end. There is a sign on the street pointing you into the driveway. Once the introductions were over Dave told us about the vineyards he has and the one's he plans to plant. Where he gets grapes from and how he produces his wine. We walked in to the converted barn which is beautifully decorated with a large bar in the center and comfortable seating areas around the perimeter. They have a rack of bottles ready to be sold and a gift box display. The day we went there were four or five wines available. Once a type has sold out, it's done for the season so those who know and like Dave's wine know when to head over to make their purchases. Some offerings are ready in Spring while others are not available until Autumn. I ended up purchasing two bottles each of three of the available wines. The Riesling is a bit dry and not too sweet. Lovely. The Cab had a nice 'full mouth' feel to it and a clean finish. I have been disappointed by other RI wine producers and to be honest I didn't have high expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised. We also had an opportunity to meet Dave's wife and children. This is truly a family business. With each new arrival, Dave made a point to say hello, get their name, tell them his and pour them a glass. We sampled each of the available wines but others came in just to enjoy a glass. The atmosphere was such that everyone was chatty with each other even though we were strangers. It made for a very enjoyable visit. This vineyard is in the woods and the drive up is just beautiful along winding back roads. On a beautiful, sunny Saturday, it made for a very enjoyable day. If I could suggest just one thing it would be to offer a small snack. This may be a sticky wicket as they are a wine producer, not a restaurant and I'm sure that brings up a whole other set of laws. During our visit his 'intern' showed up with a spinach and pepperoni calzone which he offered all around. It was just delightful and I was very happy to have something to eat after sampling several wines. Maybe next time I'll just bring along a snack to share. I hope that's OK.

The views here were very scenic and serene. I would recommend coming here if you want to see some farm life. If you have kids who love animals, I'd highly recommend this place! They have a lot of staff walking around guiding people around the farm area. There is plenty of signage to find your way. And, there was a snack bar with a variety of food too. **November 2025: Tuesday Early Afternoon Visit**…read more For my Vermont portion of the roadtrip I really wanted to visit a maple syrup farm. I called the day before to confirm hours and inquire on potential tours and they indeed were in operation despite the cold season. We arrived around 1pm and entered the small gift shop which had their maple syrup on display in various sizes. They also sold some Vermont made Jam, homemade magnets and some other souvenirs. The shopkeeper greeted us and agreed to give us a tour and educated us about the maple syrup process. She took us out back and told us and showed us the blue pipes that transport the syrup to their backhouse which then heats it up so all the liquid dissipates. At the end of the tour we got to sample both the Medium Amber and Dark Robust syrups. My friend and I definitely preferred the Medium Amber. I bought small maple leaf shaped jars as well as the maple candy to bring in my checked bag and my friend asked if they could ship his gallon to California. This maple syrup has a more molasses taste to it and I think I'm ruined on store bought generic maple syrup lol. Overall, a fun visit!

Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. Nothing tasted artificial at all. After we got our food a staff member came out with an orange wedge and suggested adding it to the butternut squash soup. I'm a bit adventurous...I tired it and it was good! There's also a few shops in the old farm. They have local jams, honey, and (right now) fall decor. If you walk toward the back there are some animals. We were told they love attention and it wasn't a lie! We pet some after lunch. Definitely a great place! We know the menu will be different but we would be back again for lunch!

This review is for a special fourth of July weekend brunch cruise on the Spirit of New Jersey…read moreleaving from Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City. This being said, my comments probably apply to many similar cruises offered by this company. The cruise was supposed to board at 10:30 am for an 11 am departure, returning at 1 pm. Boarding started maybe 10:50 am and the ship left about 20 minutes late, and still returned at 1 pm. So it was really a 1 hour and 40 minute cruise rather than a 2 hour one. The boat has two indoor, air-conditioned dining levels and an upper deck. It is random which level you are seated at, but the layout looks the same. With taxes and random fees, cost was about $350 for a family of three, and $500 for a family of four. We did not pay extra for a window table. We got a window table anyway, which was nice. There were also bottomless mimosas for the adults and orange juice for the kids. We did see the tall historic ships as advertised. We didn't see many - definitely less than 10 - but we did get pretty close to the ships and got some good pictures. The boat went around the tip of Manhattan and we saw Ellis Island, Governor's Island, and Staten Island. We spent a lot of time around the Statue of Liberty. It was a while before we got food. At the beginning of the cruise, the buffet was not ready yet so basically everyone went upstairs to the upper deck to take pictures first. When the buffet was ready there was a lot of waiting around while they called the tables up one by one. The buffet was honestly not great. The sausage was undercooked, the bacon was over-crispy, the salmon was overcooked. There was someone serving slices of beef which were somewhat dry but still the best thing there. The DJ did a commendable job acting as a tour guide but also playing every line dance that he could think of in order to convince people to get on the dance floor. I am sure nobody booked the cruise for the purposes of having a dance party, but there were definitely at least two families with kids dancing on the dance floor by the end of the cruise. Overall, decent but expensive.
