After 3 weeks I told Eric that I would just stick with small animal chiropractic. I told him that it took years to master treating small animals and I knew it would take years of practice to even modestly approach the skill level that he displayed. We have been friends ever since. The dogs are kept separated at all times, but they are given outdoor breaks frequently. If you want to pay an extra $5, the staff will walk or play with your dog. While anxious to go home, Oscar seemed pretty content when I picked him up, and he hasn't shown any sign of being hoarse or sick to his stomach (which has happened when he's gone to daycare). So I think they took good care of him. Additionally, a particularly helpful feature of Paws anc Claws is the weekend hours. You can actually pick your dog up on Sunday, unlike most kennels I've tried in Austin. This saves money and makes it easier to plan your schedule. I'd definitely use this place again.

Ben got groomed very nicely, Jerry got shaved even tho he had no mats. I came to EZ Breeze with instructions from Jerry's groomer that Jerry was not to be shaved. It ended up that I did not have to tell them & I didn't need to worry. Jerry was groom awesomely. Jerry is afraid of people, yet he felt right at home with everyone here. TSVS has performed two medial patellar luxation surgeries on Soleil, my husky. The first went fine…read morewith some minor complication where the wound didn't heal due to the surgical hardware but the second surgery performed by Dr. Franklin has resulted in significant surgical complications. After the surgery when I took her from the veterinary tech and began lifting in her car, I saw that blood was streaming down her leg and the wound was wide open and no longer sutured. Days later I was told that Soleil's skin, tissue, and bone were quickly necrotizing. My dog is now in her fourth month of recovering from the surgery, and still faces the threat of possible leg amputation. Instead of directly treating the surgical complications, Dr. Franklin delegated this work to my regular vet, who did not have direct experience in this area. Not once has Dr. Harper or Dr. Franklin reached out to me to explain what happened or to go over with me possible options for my dog's future until today after I filed an online negative review of TSVS. He didn't bother contacting me even after I asked my regular vet to speak with him months ago. Dr. Harper's cold response today was that I signed a form acknowledging that the surgery had risks. Yes, like with any veterinary procedure, an owner acknowledges risks, but at the same time, I never authorized what appears to me to be veterinary malpractice. To this day TSVS cannot explain to me what happened to her and how her health suddenly deteriorated so quickly. My regular vet at Acorn Hill stated that this negative outcome is "unprecedented," but still I have no explanation of how this happened. I now know Dr. Harper's background is actually that of an equine veterinarian, and in my opinion he should not be performing surgery on smaller animals. I don't believe either surgeon is board-certified to perform surgeries on dogs. This has been by far the worst veterinary experience I've ever had. Please stay away!
