find somewhere else as a tire shop. We had two tires go flat on the way from Chicago to Peru. It was 4pm and all near by shops closed at 5pm. I stop here with my father that has a broken leg and grandma. First worker was kind and ready to tend to us, telling us he'll be able to help! Then the owner came and made a big fuss about not having enough time and making excuses to not help us out. I would have understood if it was busy and people were being rushed out the door, no one was there.. Grandma and father both truly felt like it was an inconvenience to the owner because of the color of their skin. They felt the need to be kind due to the circumstances they were in , otherwise we would've looked for somewhere else. The first worker helped us out and set us ready to go before their closing time. The repair was quick and even let my dad stay in the car. He's the only reason for the extra star. As for the owner, you need to work on the customer service attitude. I understand not having the overwhelming-welcoming love and hugs at the door but maybe hide your prejudice a little better. There's no reason to refuse service when this is what your shop was for and we came in with kindness. read more

ok so I had an issue with my rear brakes, where the driver side braking material came off and caused my right rear wheel to lock-up. this happened at 3 am as I was trying to leave work. so, I didn't want them to tow my car because it was in a non-parking area, I spent the time sitting on the cold ground, ass cold, leg asleep, to get the right wheel fixed enough so it could be moved. I bought, 1 hub/drum, (didn't need, so returned it) 1 wheel cylinder, (of which I forgot to put on) brake shoes, and a hardware kit. also rented a puller to take the hub/drum off. so got everything done on the right side, (except the wheel cylinder) and decided to call it a day. took the car home a few days later. then it snowed over night. so I decided I didn't want to freeze while trying to do the other side. so I took it into friermoods in peru, IN. I dropped it off so they could start on it first thing the next morning. provided all the parts they need to use, and for some reason the mechanic had to cut the hub/drum's off, they charged me for 2 hub/drum's and for a second wheel cylinder. all of which I did not ask them to replace, nor did they inform before hand that they were going to do so. a phone call for permission would have been nice. so they charged me for repair's and parts that I didn't want. so now i'm screwed over for rent. because I had to pay $302, when what I needed to have done should've only cost labor about $100. they have confirmed every rumor and story that I have heard about the peru friermood. they have lost my business forever. read more
