I've been in Lawton a couple of years and it took me a while to find someone that I trusted to do my hair but even longer to find somebody that was good and knew what they were doing. I'm so happy that I found this place though. I go to McKenzie Pugh and she is AMAZING! She is so sweet and never makes you feel uncomfortable either. I absolutely loved how she did my hair also. This hair salon has a big city attitude with a small town feel. Marina is amazing with hair. I only would go to Aveda salons before my friends referred her to me. She never fails me when it comes to my high expectations and pickiness. I am a blonde and walk out with exactly what I want. Her prices are great as well. I went for a calm & relaxing experience but didn't get that. The stylists talked and laughed so LOUD it gave me a headache. If I spend my hard earned money I expect a nice, calm and enjoyable time not my stylist discussing things with the other stylists in such a loud way. I had to get my hair cut in a bad way. I decided to go to Fringe because I had heard good things about it before. Someone greeted me as soon as I walked in the door and I was able to get in quickly, even as a walkin. I had no idea how I wanted to cut my hair but the girl knew exactly what to do. She asked a few simple questions and I came out with a great haircut and very healthy looking hair. All the women that work here are very friendly. Fringe salon is absolutely awesome! Jaci is my stylist and she's great!! She listens to what you want and delivers every time. I also like the look & feel of the salon, especially for Lawton. They also offer the cutest home decor & clothes for women and children!! They also offer a great selection of styling products & styling tools. I've been super happy every time!! FYI: You generally pay your stylist directly, and some don't have a credit card reader, so you'll need to bring cash or check. I have been going to Fringe for a few years now. I have always been pleased with the salon, but I was recently there and disgusted with the condition. It was physically dirty. I watched a stylist cut 3 different people's hair without sweeping. There were balls of hair and garbage under the chairs you sit under the dryers. A stylist dropped foils and rubber gloves on the floor and just left them there. Stylists were using brushes that were full of hair. I know the stylist rent their chairs, but if stylists aren't responsible for cleaning up, the salon should consider hiring someone to clean throughout the day. read more

I am new to the area and saw that this salon had pretty good reviews on Yelp so I decided to give it a try. I called ahead to make an appointment and the women I talked to was very helpful. I did have a little trouble finding the place, but when I called the women I talked to was very nice and gave me directions. When I arrived it was a large, modern salon. It appeared clean and stylish. My stylist was Heather. She was friendly and did a great job. I didn't have a picture but told her about the hair cut I was wanting. I was soooo scared to try a new hairdresser. After moving here 5 months ago I knew it was time to try something. My hair was dingy, grown out and gray so I scoured FB and Yelp for reviews and thought I'd give Fringe a try. Amy took my phone call and fit me in within 2 days. I LOVE MY NEW HAIR!!!! It looks natural, not super processed and not brassy at all which has been a problem in the past. While I still love my hairdresser in CA, I'm so glad I found Amy here in OK. Go see Amy! I needed a trim and I heard good things about this place form a friend. I got a stylist named Bridgette. My appt was at 5:15pm I got in the chair by 5:45pm. Ok, I get it there could be a wait at salons but seems like they need to make better time management... I have very long, straight hair and just wanted a couple inches off and my layers touched up. I wanted to keep my hair long. I figured that it was just a standard cut, I didn't ask for something crazy different from what I already had, so I wasn't worried. After all, they are licensed cosmetologists... right? She finished up and gave me the hand mirror to look at the back of my hair. I was baffled when I saw a chunk of my hair missing from the right side of my hair. (It was a good 4 inch chunk.) I point out the chunk missing, and she says that the other side is the same, it's just the layer. So I say, Uhmmm no the whole bottom is cut off on just that section. I don't know if she was trying to play dumb or something but it was blatantly visible. So I asked her if there is anything she can do to try to make it even so the sides could match. She said she would try to shorten and round the other side to match the rights side.(After she said she didn't see the chunk missing) I also noticed that the layers were super disconnected and just uneven all around. I've never had anyone in my life mess up such an easy cut so badly. When I pointed out the uneven blunt layers and uneven bangs, she gives me an attitude and says give me a minute ok? Let me fix the back first. So she keeps chopping away and my hair is getting shorter and shorter. I was a second away of telling her to just stop cutting because she was just butchering my hair and I was losing so much more hair. I didn't want to make matters worse, so I just let her finish. She asked me how is it now? I told her its fine, paid the 35 dollars +tip and left. The next day I went to another salon and got my hair fixed. To even out the length of my hair from the chunk that was missing I lost a total of about 6 inches off my length. I was irate. I know hair grows back, but why do we pay good money for a professional to give us a hair do that we do not want? It took me years to get my hair to the length I wanted and now it's gone after 30 minutes. I'm not knocking down this whole salon, I'm pretty sure there are good stylists in there since there are like 20 booths. But I must've gotten the rotten apple. Just because you've been doing hair for 10+ years doesn't mean anything folks! Cosmetologists and hair stylists should have to retest for their licenses every 5 years or so! (Not just written exams either!) I'm usually not that picky, I just want an even hair cut! Is that too much to ask for? read more

This place is poorly operated with their schedule. It is not worth the risk of your time because I made I reservation for my wife and she showed up and was told her stylist forgot something at home and would be back in 30 minutes. After 30 minutes had passed she was not helped and was told that her stylist would be there in 15 minutes. Her stylist never showed. I believe the stylist's name was Alex. Great salon! All the girls are friendly. Caitlin does my hair and I love her! She is so sweet, always on time and always returns my phone calls. She stays busy though, takes 2 weeks to get an appt with her but is worth it. She's very good at matching blondes to my skin tone and does my highlights very close to my scalp so no weird streaks around my face when I pull my hair back. The back is wayyy to short and in the front I have on both sides 2 strings of hair hanging down. Can't even do a pony tail to hide it. Don't ways your time and money there!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place (and Candace too). I just moved to Lawton from out of state, I have always lived in a big city so I was scared to get a hair cut/color in Lawton. My friend told me about Fringe Salon and even though I was hesitant I went. It was random that Candace was my stylist but she is mine for good. I showed her some pictures and I feel like I got exactly what I was looking for. My friends said "Wow", "gorgeous" and "looking good." (no not because they are my friends)! Worst experience I went for a Brazilian blow out last week, my hair is usually wavy, asian hair. Very disappointed with the job Initially i was told it would be 150 and they charged me 200. The stylist looks like she is too stingy, when using shampoo on my hair, she is struggling to get the last drops of shampoo out of the shampoo bottle by beating it constantly, i want to tell her why dont you open a new bottle. I doubt if she applied that blowout to my hair Other thing is she is too harsh on my hair, constant pulling and hurting, she even burned my skin while doing flat iron Finally after the blowout my hair was super straight as she spend 30 minutes styling my hair. I was told it would stay like that for next 12 weeks. 4 days later i took a shower and used the recommended shampoo, my hair went back to its usual texture. I am having this done to attend a wedding, the purpose is not achieved Another worst thing is she did my eyebrows, she waxed the lower brow and told she is done. I ashed her, are u going to do the upper brow or not. She asked me do you want the upper brow to be done, i have never see any stylist ask that question to me Overall very bad experience and i wouldnt go to this Salon again. Do NOT go here for highlights. A simple highlight turned into fried bangs & multiple trips to try to correct the odd yellow color that it turned out to be. Not to mention my roots weren't even touched where my natural part is. It looked like 2 weeks of grow out followed by yellow then a tiny bit blonde & fried at the bottom. Some parts were a shade of yellow, brassy orange & even grey where she attempted to tone it. Highlights shouldn't be this hard! I have never had this problem before. Now, my hair is seriosuly damaged on top and the tips are beyond fried around my bang area. Please- if you love your hair- save your time & money and go somewhere else. read more

The owner of this salon has a small town mentality and poor customer service. They don't care if they misled you and doop you into buying expensive products. Be sure that you are aware of their return policy, which isn't posted anywhere. I was told by the owner when buying the product that I could return or exchange it. When I brought the $76 product back a couple of days later, she denied that she ever told me that I could return it and that I could only have in store credit for it. I told her I was leaving town the next day and would not be able to get a haircut later and am allergic to most of the hair products and would like my money back since I was led to believe that I could return the product in the first place. The owner basically was argumentative and said she didn't have time to argue and needed to leave because her husband was getting off of work at 3pm. Then she proceeded to say that she wasn't going to give any store credit at all and how would I like that. It appears she makes her policy up as she goes. Since its a small town and small business minded I guess they get away with ripping people off. They don't even give a receipt for things you purchase and don't have a return policy written anywhere. So I ended up having to pick out $76 worth of junk from their store that I probably won't be able to use. The hairstylists are good but keep in mind the small town mentality...texting while they're doing your hair and stopping to chat with coworkers while you're sitting there waiting on them to finish cutting your hair. Expect to schedule at least an hour for a simple hair cut. Very unprofessional business and have never experienced something like this before. read more

hubs went in here and got a haircut ...not so good!! if you want a good haircut this is not the place ..i had to clip on it once he got home and will have to do some more at a later date so it will have a shape and he can grow it back out. he asked for a trim and got scalped.. it looked like an old lady haircut on my hubs..not a good look ... he does not like at all and even said "should i go back and have her fix it?" uhh no ..if the stylist can't get it right the first time and hacks you up like that what will be left if she tries to fix it ...i am a haidresser and unfortunately cannot cut his hair at this time so he took a chance with this place ..dont do it!!!! consultation stylists!!!!! a client will be more appreciative if you are honest and just say i dont know how to do it ,than if you hack their hair up!!!! i would NOT reccommend this hack shop. When I first visited Lawton, before my husband and I were stationed here, I went to Lime Lizard Salon. The girl there did great with my cut, but the lowlights didn't turn out and it took 3 hours! So I was nervous about going to any other salon in Lawton. After much contemplation I went to Fringe. I called on a Saturday morning and got an appointment with Bridget the same day. I had to wait about 15 minutes after my appointment time, but I was sort of expecting that since Saturdays are pretty busy days for salons. Bridget did amazing with my cut. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and it came out great. The only reason I'm giving the salon 4 our of 5 is because a dry cut cost $30. That seems a bit high for nothing other than a cut and a straighten. Also, when I walked in I was standing at the desk for a little while before anyone greeted me. And when I was greeted it was by a stylist doing hair instead of a receptionist...which just seemed strange. But otherwise, I would definitely go again. read more

This was my first time ever using this place. I used Mckenzie and she was fabulous. I heard about her work from one of my best friends so I knew she was good and seen what she was capable of. I was nervous because I was a few minutes later than expected but she was super sweet and understanding the entire time. I had showed up with a terribly messed up ombre which wasn't blended at all and the color wasn't taken to the roots and on top of it all my bottom color wasn't blonde but a brassy gold mixed with yellow and orange. I had got the previous ombre a few days before coming in and I let her know I didn't want to fry my hair so we used an olaplex treatment on my hair as well and it was softer than I ever had. She fixed my ombre right up and I was so pleased with the outcome. She was friendly and understood exactly what I wanted on my hair. I've been to a lot of stylist and it's hard to impress me but she did an amazing job. She was so good I even booked her for my wedding coming up in 6 months. Very unprofessional. They were talking to the customers about drama they had like I don't want to know none of that stuff. I had McKenzie I heard good reviews about her so that's why I picked her. worst mistake of my life. First of all I wanted was a grey ombré and she couldn't achieve that . Second of all It came out two colors grey and brown grey (while in the process of bleaching the bleach was burning my skin because it was dripping on my shoulder)Third of all she gave me tons of knots that she herself couldn't take off . Fourth of all I wanted a haircut(layers and some bangs) I said that from the beginning all she did was cut it straight on the bottom and cut the Random pieces of the back of my hair and I'm guessing she didn't notice that I noticed . My hair is my everything I can't believe I trusted someone like that to do my hair . So back to the knots, she couldn't take them out so she curled my hair over at thinking again that I wouldn't notice . And I have some parts on my hair that you could tell it looks straight from the bleach like no blending to it. Also I overheard them talking bad about their clients knowing that there's customers still around them . I don't know who's lying about all these good reviews the only good thing about that place was entrance . That's gonna be the first and last time I'm going there. Wish you guys the best. My 16-year old daughter needed a haircut and we are very perticuliar about the styling and cut of our hair (this is after several horrible haircuts from "pros"). I called 7/25/13 and made an appointment for her at 530, which is close to their closing time. We arrived with a few minutes to spare before the appointment time. The appointment was made with LuAnn. Now, when I first saw her, I have to say, I was not impressed, I usually have a rule of thumb that if the hairdresser's hair is awful - run for the hills. Well, was I ever wrong! She has over 30+ years of experience and knows what she is doing! My daughter asked for a multi-layered look with the shortest layer about chin/should length going down at least 6 more inches. LuAnn not only did an excellent job on her hair, but she shaped up my hair which I had simply given up on getting a good cut and style. I was impressed over and beyond what we both received for cuts. Would I recommend Fringe Salon to others? Yes, most definitely! The cuts cost me $50 (both) and I have no problem with that price as the "pros" who had done my hair in the past were well over that combined price and let me tell you, they literally could not cut a straight line and my A-line bob - well, it is even, smooth, and past my expectations. I will never let my "look at their hair" idea ever sway me again. read more

And I was charged for it not the entire amount but still I paid an arm amd a leg the day before I shouldn't have to pay for them to fix what they messed up...if I am paying 100 dollars for my hair I expect to get what I asked for... Well after another three hours of attempting to get it fixed I was charged another thirty dollars and I still don't have the hair I wanted...... I have never been there before so I just made an appt for anyone when I arrived my stylist didn't even introduce herself by name I guessed her name based on ther certificate at her station only to find out the next day that was not her name she was just using someone else's station.....
