We're already looking at our Fall & Summer schedules to see how quickly we can book another trip. The cabins are immaculate and well stocked. The beds are all incredibly comfortable...even the pull out sofa is a memory foam mattress!! The grounds are fantastic including privacy, shade, firepits/grills, and swings on each cabin. Then there's the pool+pavilion area that was just put in. Once that area is fully done it will be even more magical. When considering places to stay in Concan, I HIGHLY recommend Hunters Ridge Cabins.

I dropped my pillow on the floor and when I picked it up it had a lot of hair on it, was totally disgusting. Also, the living room seating is futons...and they were terribly uncomfortable to sit in. I think it should be posted VERY PROMINENTLY that WIFI is not accessible except for the store/office area. I was completely unable to make or receive any phone calls and it was pretty damaging to my business. The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful.

We stayed 5 days in April, 2024 for the solar eclipse. Campgrounds were spacious with a hugh area…read morefor baseball, or Frisbee or flying kites. We did not use the bathrooms as the RV sites were full-hookup. Very nice covered rec area, bbq and kitchen. Tenting had no water or elec on site but it was available. Reservations were easy to make, on line, and very accurate. Several times before our arrival, we received emails with more information and welcoming. When we checked in, our first impression was the friendly, family atmosphere. This relationship lasted our entire stay. After the totality (eclipse), we were all invited to share snacks and (non- alcoholic) drinks in the rec area. This generosity was evident all thru our stay. On the last day, the water main broke. When we asked about it, we were told it might be 15-20 min before it was fixed. (It was less than 10) The river area is just as gorgeous and wonderful as the pictures. We kayaked and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The only negative was a lack of "polish" which more expensive places may have. This did not, in any way, spoil the time we were here. We will be back and highly recommend staying here for anyone else.

We stayed here last year in our RV and had a fabulous time. Great hosts who were relaxing, well…read moremaintained area. This year ... not so much. They now have this thing - self-check in. What? Why do you not want to greet your guests when they arrive? Instead you send a text the day of check-in that gives them directions on how to check themselves in? Why? Oh, and let's not forget, most roads leading into this place have no cell service, so I'm not sure how you're supposed to get this instructional text. If you don't get the text, you drive around and around like we did, until you finally park and go up to the "check-in" building (what do you know!), where they chastise you for not receiving an instructional text that you can't receive because of no cell service in the canyons! Oh, and one more thing for the RVers ... there is a tree on the exit road that should have been either cut back or cut down (hence the "no maintenance") that tore a hole in my RV roof. I understand that this place says "stay at your own risk" or some such noise and can't be held responsible, but to knowingly have trees and branches that can damage people's property just by driving through and trying to exit is not indicative of appreciating their customers to say the least. Will we be back? Not a chance.

My partner and I went and brought four friends and there was plenty of space for all of us. Upon checking in, the woman that runs the place was more than eager to tell us anything we wanted to know about Concan, Garner State Park, and the surrounding towns, such as Leakey. Very friendly and personable staff. At the cabins we stayed at we could not have been more than a couple hundred feet from the Frio River, very beautiful scenery. There is a fire pit outdoors, but having a grill outside your cabin is hit or miss - we didn't have one, but our neighbors did. If you're betting on having one, call ahead to confirm first. The outdoor rules are a little strict (no music, no parking on grass, etc.) I was also confused as to why there was a $30 cleaning fee in addition to your reservations fee because you make your own beds, wash all your dishes, and take out your trash before you leave. Not sure what the cleaning fee was for aside from cleaning the floors. Aside from that, we had a really great experience. The location was idyllic, everyone we met was extremely friendly and helpful, and we had a blast. We'd love to come back.

We were there too early for pecan trees to be blooming but there were many of them so later in the Spring or Summer will be beautiful. Great host, Carlos, who served us local smoked sausage on tortillas -yum. He's also a great photographer and lives on site. They own Rock Island which includes quite a long stretch of the riverside and is popular for day use but not directly in the Campground so it's quiet and peaceful. Facilities at Rock Island were included In site fees so we could enjoy the area at our leisure. Thanks for the great time and we will stop back by when we next come through the area

Access to spring fed clear water Frio river doesn't get any better. This ranks with one of the…read moremost relaxing experiences I've had. The waters were flowing crystal clear. I highly recommend it. The attendant was very friendly and very helpful in showing the place. It's a small family ran place. This is one of those places you return to year after year. Once the word gets out, it will be hard to get a spot. One of the best in Texas.

We've stayed here a few times and it is an overall nice experience, but there are some things with…read morethe cabins that need to be addressed. 1. The keypads to enter get so hot and it is difficult to enter your code mid-day. You have to stand there for a while and wait for it to recognize what number you tapped because of the delay. Not too fun when you have kids and everyone's fingertips are burning when they try to enter the code. 2. I don't believe the cabins are cleaned thoroughly between users. When you leave you have to gather dirty linens together, take out trash, and sweep. I think that's the extent to the cleaning done, with new linens and paper products being added. On our most recent trip I brought counter wipes and wiped both bathroom countertops, and the kitchen counters, and the wipes had dust/dirt all over them. 3. Mysterious stains on our washcloths 4. I don't think the floors are mopped between users, we had an unknown substance on our bathroom floor, and we walked around in socks that turned totally brown. 5. Bring pillows if you come! Each bed comes with 2 flat pillows. The beds are very firm, too. So if you like a softer bed and bigger pillows, accommodate for that. 6. If you want to use your patio you have to clean it. Chances are it'll be COVERED in bird poop. It would be nice if the cleaning person/crew gave everything a good wash out there before the next users came. 7. If you swim in the river there's no where to put your wet items. We wanted to hang them on the patio furniture, but again- everything is covered with bird poop. We didn't want to make creamy bird doo on our swim tops. 8. The entire place is sand and rock. To enter your cabin is a small door mat, and when you step inside your cabin you may or may not have another door mat. Unless you lay a towel down inside and have your family wipe their feet off, dirt will be everywhere. Overall we had a good time as a family. But, as a family with many young kids we bring lots of gear and are ready to just relax when we get there after the long drive. It's unfortunate at the amount of dirt and dust and bird poop. I'd like to just be able to let my kids play without having to spend so much of my own vacation cleaning before we settle in, and also cleaning when we're ready to leave like an Air Bnb makes you do.

Nice pavilion with speakers for music, clean new ranch Art Deco bathhouses...nice roads (not caliche) and pads with white rock. Many shade trees. List of all restaurants, shopping and groceries at Mercantile. Fabulous time! Annually they have a true Crawfish Boil! We will definitely be back with all our friends
