I was referred to and advised that Collin County ENT would take Tri-Care. Truth is that they do take Tri-Care and it is in network, but only as a secondary insurance, not a primary insurance (According to the receptionist that I spoke to it is office dependent, so they can make their own rules). So, what do veterans do when they do not have additional insurance? I think this is a very poor stance when your duties are to help. You only help when it benefits you as the Doctor. What a work-around to allow this organization to charge more for service. I know that doctors who support military veterans take more of a loss. It's a given but when you say you do but there's a catch, you are just spitting in the face of those who served to allow you to skate around the issue of possibly taking less money for the same payment. This is just so frustrating to know that I pay a lot for my military "Tri-Care Prime" insurance. More than most who may be transiting through this office (if they pay anything at all) but only to be told your second rate. Pathetic! I'm sure you have the ability to find my name. If your smart enough you will have my contact details and you can contact me. However, I may put you at the bottom of the list to return your call.

I spent close to 30 minutes pre-filling out docs to be prepared the day of the appointment. I showed up early an after check in waited in the lobby for 45 minutes. I even checked because 6 people that came in after me we sent back. A couple completed their visit and left before I was sent back. After I was sent back I was informed that it would be another 20-30 minutes before I saw the doctor. At this point I elected to get up and leave. I was asked if I wanted to call back to reschedule to which I declined. They obviously have too many patients if the wait times are this lengthy. I'm sure from the other review that they are fine doctors especially considering the patient load but to have this experience is rude and dis-courteous. I wouldn't dream of showing up to any appointment late like this.

I flew back to dfw to talk to some specialists and Dr Huang treated me with plain disrespect, completely dismissing my chronic health issues because my 'sinuses and throat look completely fine'. she then recommended me to get a CT scan the following day knowing I don't have health insurance. she also told me that rinsing my nose with saline and water in a netti pot/ infant ear cleaner was incorrect, what??? she was completely off putting, rude, and did not listen to a word I was saying.

Unfortunately, my hearing aids failed me a few weeks ago and I brought it to your office. The receptionists (apologize if I used wrong term) were great, easy-going, professional and told me to leave my old one with them. They left me message that my new hearing aids were ready, but I only picked it up on Monday as we were on vacation. When I got home, I found it almost impossible for a neophyte to put it together. I made an appointment with Dr. Rinker to solicit his assistance. When I got there early today, one of the receptionists came out to help me set it up. There were some communication issues with my iPhone, and she took it and worked on it. While waiting for my hearing aids, I noticed the other receptionist came out and sat down with a hard of hearing patient to complete some questionnaire. She was great, as she worked through the questions with caring patience. My receptionist came back with my hearing aids and told me that it's all fixed now. I did not need to see Dr. Rinker, so I could leave. What I am REALLY impressed with is the cheerful attitude of your receptionists and Dr. Rinker; you are very fortunate to have these people work in your office and I am sure other patients will know the same service that comes with it. Please convey my congratulations and personal thanks to the three of them. Regards, Jack Miao

Since most of the issues are conditions I just have to live with, I have in recent years treated myself with OTC remedies and such. But the issues finally piled up to the point that I needed to see an ENT. My previous ENT, who was wonderful, had become so busy, I would't be able to get in to see him for almost three months. So I have begun looking for someone with a more open schedule. I read about Dr. Wyatt and saw good things written about him, so I checked with my PCP and he referred me to him, got me in in about two weeks and today was my big day. I filled out the paperwork in about 25 minutes, which was the most detailed I remember ever seeing, and went to the office , arriving about 15 minutes early. Upon checking in, I was given two additional forms by the receptionist, which had to do with several unscheduled procedures that might have to be performed during any given visit if the doctor considered them medically necessary. I was instructed to authorize the doctor to perform these procedures before I had even met him. When I asked the receptionist if that was their usual protocol, she said, I'm sorry, but you were here just fifteen minutes before your appointment. We don't have time for questions like this right now. We will have to reschedule or cancel your appointment if you want discussions about things like that. I was taken aback, but I really wanted to be seen, so I took a little bit different line of questioning and said, "Well, could you at least give me a ballpark figure about what these procedures might cost me (after Medicare and BC/BS)? I don't feel comfortable authorizing charges for unknown procedures when the staff cannot even estimate what the charges might be. It seemed like I was walking in to a used car dealership and asked to sign a sales contract for an unknown car at an unknown sales price with undetermined terms. I could go on, but I won't. And neither will I return to his office.

I've had hearing problems since the 6th grade, but I've always refused to wear a hearing aid because I was too embarrased to go out in public wearing it at such a young age. This was worst experience that I have had with a doctor in awhile. I will never see Dr. Mehendale…read moreagain. He doesn't listen to your needs. I have a situation where I cannot breathe out of one side of the nose and my hearing is comprised at times. I was looking for a permanent solution to my issue and wanted to get my hearing checked. His assistant comes in and has me sign some paperwork without fully explaining what the procedure was and states that the form is if the doctor needs to bill your insurance for any reason. Before I saw the doctor, I had to fill out a real long questionnaire asking about my history and give my insurance. The doctor comes in and asks may he look inside my nose. I said okay. He uses some long instrument looks in my nose for less than 1 minute. I come to find out that is called a nasal Endoscopy when I get my nearly $250. Dr. Mehendale decides he wants to treat me for sinusitis and put me on meds. Mind you, I have been treated for sinusitis countless times by doctors with no success. I didn't want drugs. I wanted a permanent solution and my hearing addressed. He tells that we will do that next time. The appointment with just him lasted about 5 minutes because in my estimation this doctor is only interested in billing as many patients as he can in an hour. The minute you get a bill, his company will send you 4 reminders before the 30 day billing cycle if up. This billing and check in office looks like a car dealership with numerous stations waiting to check you in, bill you, and check you out. I have nothing good to say about this establishment. There disclosure form states that this establishment does not verify benefits at the time of service. How sloppy is set when you set an appointment at least a month in advance. I would not recommend this doctor's office to a man of the street. I can honestly say that I have never experienced anything like this before. I am extremely dissatisfied with this practice. Word to the wise, do not just look at the google reviews. You should always look at the Yelp reviews as they are always more accurate in my opinion. If I could give a zero score to this office, I would.
