However, when the bill arrived, an additional charge was made for a visit to the Urgent Care facility which is inside the entrance from the parking lot to the Emergency Room. No actual medical service was asked for and none was given. When we disputed the charge, and pointed out that we would have had no reason to visit a second urgent care facility, particularly since Froedtert is not an "in-network" urgent care covered by our insurance. Froedtert was adamant in demanding payment, ignoring the fact that my wife was never taken into a private room (required for privacy at urgent care facilities) and not examined at all. This led me to submit a complaint to the State of Wisconsin Consumer Protection Agency. The actual service was fine -- but the billing was false and Froedtert subsequently informed us that the demand would be turned over to a collection agency if I refused to pay.

I was sent to the Breast Care Center at…read more8800 W Doyne Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53226 in December of 2025 for a mammogram (that I did not request in the first place, but my PCP -also Froedtert- refused to schedule requested & clinically relevant ultrasound). I was given no prior notice of any type of risks involved with the procedure- though upon telling the technician I bruise easily, that yea, I would leave with bruising. Though the technician "communicated" with me during placement for imaging it was STRICTLY centered around how to stand or move. She never once asked during placement of my body or the paddles if what she was doing was tolerable. She never asked if she could apply additional pressure despite doing so with a pedal on every single image. She asked exactly two times of my well-being: once from behind the screen while taking the first image to which I replied that I was in pain and it hurt, and the second time she asked if was alright as I was experiencing vasovagal response and actively blacking out from the immense pain she caused me. She did not report the vasovagal response until I filed a grievance, though I asked for a copy of the report and still have not received it, so it may have never been filed at all. She, to my knowledge, has lied outright in regards to our communications about the pain she caused me during the procedure, as management followed up with me to state she did nothing wrong despite glaring evidence of failure to meet several protocols clearly outlined. She has caused me permanent disfigurement, and lasting pain to date. I was diagnosed with acute stress disorder from the ordeal and have still not fully recovered from the emotional and physical trauma caused by this breast cancer center. I requested force records with my radiography files and data on 12/9 and to date, nearly a month later, have not received them. If you value your wellbeing in any regard, stay away from this facility.

Paid my $35 copay only to be seen by an Optomotrist. My wife specifically asked for an Opthamologist and explained what was going on when she made the appt. The Optomotrist told me it was not a stye but rather a chilazion (which is a stye away from the eyelash) but I should come back to see an Opthomologist. She also told me to stop the stye drops and warm compresses as they do no good with chilazions. They have one that specializes in eyelid issues. Made appt to come back on Jan 7th as he was off through the holidays. Went back on Jan 7, paid my copay again, that is now $50 as of the 1st. He called it a stye. When I told him what I was told by his office in Dec he said they are the same thing. Asked if I was doind warm compresses, told him his office told me to stop. He said he is a big believer in warm compresses and should be doing that. Told him it has been 2 months now, he said he could drain it, but that is difficult and painful. He also said he could inject it with some meds that might help, but they don't have any right now. The third option is warm compresses. I asked what he recommended and he said they are all about 50 % effective so it really doesn't matter. Needless to say, I left without any real conclusions. Never go back there again!!!

I see Dr. Rajurkar, who is excellent in terms of skill, training, expertise, bedside manner and all things you need in a specialist. I have great confidence in Rajurkar because he is clearly up on research and technique. I vetted. Not going to have just anyone poking around in my eyeballs with a laser beam. Still, it would actually be hard to find a poorly qualified ophthalmologist, they do have to graduate from medical school and successfully finish a rigorous residency. The difference in specialty medical clinics is the front line staff. Ophthalmology Associates has a mixed bag in this department. I really like the reception/front desk people at the south side location, they are excellent. The phone bank people who do the scheduling (they seem to be working from the West National number but maybe all numbers ring somewhere else for scheduling) are less than satisfactory. The physician had to reschedule, and the office has apparently never heard of email. I got an annoying letter blaming me for them not being able to reach me so I had to call back during their business hours "TO RESCHEDULE." I'm stressing this because they highlighted that we "need to reschedule (my) appointment" in the letter. Like me, they don't always answer the phone, when I was finally able to get through I got the most annoying woman. She immediately decided we were on a first name basis (though she couldn't pronounce Rohan), talked over me without listening, and scolded me for not answering my phone when they tried calling. No phone manners whatsoever. Very hypocritical. I tried to explain that during the COVID-19 shut down, many of us are working in front of computers and can't answer our phones the minute they ring, and when she demanded another number I had to explain that again. She asked again for a phone number I can be contacted at, meaning a number I will immediately answer. Hey, can I call your boss at his number and have him pick up right away? Big assumption that no patients work, or at least, patient's jobs aren't important. That's how I pay my bills and like any good ophthalmology practice, this place isn't cheap. I asked to be contacted by email, and in a condescending voice she told me that is not possible. How is that not possible? Doesn't give one much confidence in the clinic's use of the latest technology, now does it? My primary care nurse practitioner can use email and I can schedule conveniently online. It's not brain surgery. Remember the highlighted "we need to reschedule your appointment" after the "our office has attempted to contact you by phone several times" letter? I know, it's been a long rant. After all of this she tells me since they don't know when the ophthalmologist will be able to return, they can't schedule a make up appointment for me (didn't bother to ask if I needed to see anyone sooner, there are at least 6 other eye specialists there) and hey, how about leading with this lady? She made it very clear my time is just not important to her. If I recall correctly, a phrase we used to use back in the mid 20th century was, "When would be convenient to call back?" If they are going to insist on sticking with 1960s communication technology, I think they should maintain 1960s telephone manners.

Overall terrible experience. Multiple people checked in to see the same doctor (Dr. Ferguson) I was…read morescheduled to see and we all were scheduled in 15 min increments. At 15 mins past my appt a lady went up to complain she was still waiting to see our doctor and her appointment was scheduled for 30 mins ago. At 30 mins past my appt time I was called back. I was shuffled between three different people for pre appt stuff. Put back into a back waiting room twice and finally got into a room for the Dr. During this time they left the computer unlocked to my file and it was evident I could have just clicked through their systems. At 1.5 hours past my appt time the Dr. finally comes in. No apology for running behind just a simple intro and into the appointment. He restains my eyes to read pressures after the first woman I saw just did the same thing. He completes the exam. Says the internal part of my eye are fine but he doesn't know what is causing my pain. He only specializes in the internal part of the eye and he could refer me to another doc who specializes in the outside of the eye and the surrounding tissues. I asked if he could refer me to a sooner appointment with neurology than the one I had scheduled (Dec) and his response is we don't really work closely with neurology. Regarding my intense dry eye he offered some different kind of eye drops. I asked if he had any ideas of what may be causing the dry eye and he didn't even respond. I asked if he could do a referral to a rheumatologist to test for autoimmune that could cause dry eye and he again acted like i said nothing. Overall, I would absolutely never recommend this practice. Horrible scheduling and terrible patient care.
