I had to see someone who would remove the cancer then I would be put in the fall and wait for the plastic surgeon to put me back together. I had the surgeon literally scream at me. Then he told me. It was a nightmare. I ran out of there and never look back.. I called Dr. Massaro, who I knew from children's Hospital we're he worked Repairing the burned faces of children. I am cancer free for years. And I dare you to find a spot where Dr. Massaro performed surgery. I had a friend who had surgery about the same time. She was black and blue from head to nose. She was swollen, and in pain, while I had no bruising no swelling and no pain. The other rating can't possibly be right. I don't believe these ladies were RN's. Dr. Massaro is the miracle doctor. I just sent my grandson to him, who got kicked in his face with a shoes with a cleat Don't believe these people Believe the medical staff around him, watching him every day

I am perplexed by some of these reviews he is not there to be your best friend -he is there to preform a procedure and imho does that very well.

The only thing was my issue is the schedule I work until midnight so i had to schedule it out past noon in order to make to my appointments and there was a few times that had to reschedule because those appointments were so early in morning. Plus I overslept on a couple appointments which wasn't intentional but the doctor fussed at me!

STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT DOCTORS WHO PRIORITIZE YOUR CARE. If you are considering having a vitrectomy…read morefor floaters, you may want to reconsider unless debilitating. If you schedule a consultation, avoid Retina and Vitreous Consultants and especially avoid Dr. Tosi. Let me explain why. A vitrectomy is a very invasive and serious eye surgery. Retina and Vitreous Consultants make it sound like a walk in the park. I was a patient of Tosi's with devastating results that never should have taken place. I had two consultation appointments with Tosi. He said two things and two things only. 1.) There's a chance you could get a gas bubble. 2.) If you get a gas bubble, you can't fly for up to six weeks. That's it, nothing else! I told him I had occasional floaters in both eyes that were annoying. He never asked how bad they were or if they were debilitating. He failed his responsibility as a caring and reputable doctor by not sharing my risk factors. It turned out I had the top three. 1.) myopia 2.) lattice degeneration 3.) posterior vitreous detachment After the second consultation the scheduler tried to literally schedule me the next morning at 7:45. I said no I need to do some research to better understand the procedure and scheduled a week later. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to do any research and called to cancel. The receptionist transferred me to Tosi's assistant. I told her I wanted to cancel if there was any chance of me getting a gas bubble. She talked me into following through by saying she's looking at my chart and everything looked "great", which couldn't be further from the truth ignoring to inform me about the top three risk factors, all of which I had, associated with this procedure. How could Tosi and his assistant not share the risk factors with me. Isn't the whole idea of a consultation to determine risk factors? If I had known that I had even one of the three risk factors for this procedure I would have canceled. My floaters were annoying, but far far far from debilitating. I had a retinal detachment approximately six weeks after the first vitrectomy in my left eye. As a result I had a second surgery however, the damage was already done. I only found out about the risk factors after asking for my notes and doing research after the second surgery. I was absolutely stunned and couldn't believe none of this information was shared with me. I have lost all peripheral vision and with the limited field of vision I have left, anything beyond an arms length away is blurry. I can't begin to tell you the struggles I have had both physically and emotionally thinking I was going to go blind, dealing with constant pain after the first surgery and unable to do anything physically due to having a gas bubble in my eye for approximately eight months. Tosi destroyed a perfectly good eye by performing a vitrectomy that never should have taken place. This guy is like pulling teeth to get him to talk. His bedside manner is not existent because he doesn't talk. Also heard this from other employees with his firm. After learning of my risk factors after the second surgery with Tosi telling me I needed a third surgery I seeked second and third opinions with Advanced Retina and Froedert Eye Institute, both of which shared with me that they would not perform this procedure unless floaters were debilitating. Their level of transparency and sharing of information was night and day versus Retina and Vitreous Consultants. Dr. Vogel with Advanced Retina performed the third surgery, which went 100% smoother than my first two surgeries with Tosi. He and his staff shared all relevant details before and after the procedure. Had my consultations been with either Advanced Retina or Froedtert Eye Institute, they would have recommended against the procedure and I would still have what was a perfectly good eye with a few occasional floaters.
