More of a vacation rental than a B&B.
More of a retreat center than a hotel.
More peace than you can shake a rain-stick at.
I had my wedding and reception at FCL in the summer of '06. It was the perfect location and everything my wife and I wanted. We planned our big day from our current home 3,000 miles away in NYC. FCL helped us make the event special, intimate, and unique yet gave us the central location, resources, and space to create a nice hybrid between the more traditional hotel wedding and casual a backyard wedding.
The 5,000 Sq Ft Lodge sits on 10 acres of secluded peace in the middle of Key Peninsula near Gig Harbor. It used to be home of the owner/operator and still has a very homey feel with family photos and a lived in ambiance. The decor is a little county cute (frogs everywhere) and hippy-dippy but never overwhelming. The kitchen is large and was plenty big enough for us to have an army of helpers prepping for our BBQ for 75. Seven bedrooms sleep up to 25 people and a beautiful master suite with a private deck and bathroom made a perfect romantic bridal retreat. Parking wasn't a problem with space for 75 cars. A big jacuzzi, multiple fire pits, trails for exploring, yard games for the huge front yard, games, two fire places to curl up next to with book, and a gigantic back deck all provide great touches. The gardens are immaculately maintained and beautifully keeping with the semi-wildness of the grounds. They provided the perfect backdrop for our ceremony in yard next to the little orchard. The labyrinth made a fun location for the formal photos and I am sure that many happy marriages began under its arbor. The basement meeting room was fine for the after hours dancing and gave us a little peace of mind about having an outside wedding in the rainy northwest.
I can recommend this place enough. I plan on going back someday. It would be perfect for a family reunion or similar gathering too! read more
