Positives: 1. Sliding door, & latch is very sturdy and new. 2. Interior of the room is very modern, nicely decorated. 3. The view is beautiful. 4. Veranda seating. 5. Microwave, fridge & freezer in the room. 6. Temperature perfect. 7. Coat rack on the wall, as you come in. 8. Quiet. Hubby can't hear me talking when I'm inside, unless I yell! 9. Love the floors! Negatives: 1. Faucet handles needs upgrading. 2. No stopper on the sink. I use a Kleenex, to prevent anything small falling in the pipes. 3. The room is not so bright. I have to turn on the TV for additional lights, so I can see what I'm doing. I cut & sew! I need ceiling lights! 4. No EWTN TV. 5. The bathroom and the bed is not ADA Compliance. I have bursitis, so it's difficult for me to climb up the California Bed. We have that at home, but I get up on a step stool, to get in/out of bed. A little more like 4.75783256, but 5 works. What a gorgeous property, recently remodeled, nicely decorated, and super friendly (and LGBTQIA+ friendly) people. We were in room 25, with a gorgeous view of the Sound. We had two queens (haha, so very appropriate...!). The mattresses seemed new and were comfortable. The room was clean, the sheets fresh, the kitchen area clean and stocked with Keurig cups (well, that's a bit of a downer, but not their fault). The room was very nicely decorated with all kinds of quirky prints and hangings, making the room cheerful and fun. The TV was quite large (55" ?). The halls and other common areas were clean and well decorated, again cheerful and fun. The grounds include a parking area for RV's which was well organized, neat and tidy, with a couple green areas and some cabins on the North side, but that wasn't the main event... ! They have a very pretty little stream that even had a few flowers when we visited and which empties into the sound, where the estuarial mix of fresh and salt waters attracts birds (and fish? need to find out!). They have a small pebble beach with steps leading down where they said it is fine to launch a kayak or two! To the South there is a power plant outlet! My excitement might puzzle those of you who don't fish in Winter, but not only is it deep and fast running, but may be warm enough to attract fish. It, like everything else we saw about the waters, appeared clean and free of trash, as one might typically see nearby RV camping. And..., There are some lovely businesses nearby at HoodCanal. We had coffee there at a very nice little shop (HoodCanal Coffee, who'd have thunk it?) and then ventured next door to the little wine shop, which was FULL of curios, art, and so many lovely little things. The proprietress was wonderfully chatty and really helped fill us in on the area. And that leads us to the people... ! The nice lady running the hotel was out of the office (pro tip: there is a call button to the right of the office door that pages her, so just tap that), but popped up quickly. She was very friendly and, when we ran out of coffee creamer, which we mentioned in passing in the hall, she told me not to bother coming down the stairs to the office and that she would bring it right up, which she did. She also had more information on the local area that was very helpful. We were very pleasantly surprised and will certainly be back... with kayak(s)! read more

The view is stellar, the traffic noise is terrible, rv spots are very small and can be difficult to get into, depending on which spot. Sadly, we left early and requested a refund for the remaining unused days due to a staff member who was rude and hostile. I had a conversation with the Director of Hospitality for the Skokomish Tribe. I hope she takes my advice. There are 2 wonderful ladies in the front office, Kay and Teresa, they deserve a raise and big kudo's for the work they do! Would we ever stay again? I was very excited to stay at this resort. Let's start with the positives. The staff was incredibly nice, and The view was amazing. now let's get to the accommodations. The cabin looked absolutely adorable on the outside. When I got inside, the first thing I noticed was it wasn't very clean. There was stuff spilled in the refrigerator that was never wiped up. The dishwasher had dishes in it. There were a lot of cobwebs . There was a wire in the living room coming out of the wall that went to nothing. When I moved the chair to sit down at the table, the leg came off. The oven didn't work properly. I was baking something and it said to cook on 400° and halfway through I went to check it and the stuff in the oven was burnt because the thermostat isn't correct. I don't wear shoes in the house so when I came in, I immediately took off my shoes. When I sat down, I realized the bottoms of my socks were completely filthy. The couch had a hole in the cushion that looked like a burn hole. The comforters were white, but they had stains on them. I travel a lot and I've never stayed any place that was this dirty before. And don't even get me started on the traffic noise. I know that that can't be helped because of the location. But it was so loud I had to go drive to the store and buy earplugs just so I can get some rest. I don't know anybody could stay in those places and get any kind of sleep or rest with all that traffic noise. read more

First I want to start off by saying the grounds are absolutely lovely. They really take care of the grass and all of the plants. The staff is very friendly as well. I came here to get some relaxation and decompress from city life. However, i didn't realize that the whole resort is literally right next to the highway. When i say right next I mean RIGHT NEXT. After I parked my car, there was like 5 feet left behind it until the highway, and I have a small car. The traffic was nonstop and I could hear it very loudly even inside the cabin. Also the cabin was not cleaned well. The refrigerator was dirty inside, the slider had finger prints and marks on it. The couch had something spilled on it and I hole in the cushion. I do not wear shoes inside so i took them off right when i arrived. after an hour or so i sat down and the bottom of my feet were filthy because the floor was dirty. The all white comforters has spots on them. There were also dishes in the dishwasher that were not put away from previous guests. I travel a lot and i have never had this happen at any previous VRBO or Air BNB, OR any hotel I have every stayed at. If it wouldn't have been so loud and dirty i would recommend this place, but due to that i can't. I was very disappointed. read more

This is a good choice for a low cost motel on the Hood Canal. As another reviewer mentioned, our room had a "funky smell" which dissipated with fresh air. It's a little noisy with RV's on one side and highway 101 on the other side but not too bad. It's got a long list of rules and under penalty of death, don't shuck an oyster in the room. LOL Contrary to a previous review, it is not dog friendly. So how often to big trucks go roaring down the highway 30 feet from your front door? So often that after an hour, you won't even notice them. ha ha Check it out. read more

We stayed in in a king deluxe room booked through one of the 3rd party sites with a slightly better price than what they were advertising. We had a perfect view of the canal from the room but the front door was right off the highway which was a bit noisy but not distracting in April. In this area, that just seems to be the price you pay for the water view. Room was much larger then expected, came with a mini fridge, 2 sinks, balcony, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer & pull out couch. They have wi-fi, laundry facilities a clubhouse and sell fire wood and ice on-site. Downside to our stay was the shower, the drain was clogged so every shower would turn into a bath, since the office isn't manned it wasn't convenient to report it as we came in went. Since it was just a quick weekend trip, we didn't make a deal out of it. They have a posted phone number to call if you need someone. This is more motel style so no in-room services like a traditional hotel. If you need something, you'll need to track someone down. Didn't explore the grounds much but they have these super cute cabins available also, I'd love to stay in one of those the next time we make a trip to Hood Canal. This place is close to a number of beaches and not too far from Lk. Kokanee. read more

What can I say about this RV Resort, except AWESOME!! We will definitely keep this as our go-to place on the Hood Canal/Puget Sound. Pretty much every camp site faces the water. The pricing was very reasonable. The facilities were extremely clean. The grounds were impeccable. The staff was very accommodating and friendly! And on Wednesdays and Saturdays, you are allowed to dig for oysters and clams right off their Beach at low tide, with some restrictions and the proper licensing, of course. The staff also have all tools and knowledge to help you, which we needed. I would definitely stay here again, and again and again! read more

Great RV park that sits right on the beach. Easy check-in and the host was so nice. We were parked in lot 2 which is one of the only spots without a picnic table. Otherwise we have zero complaints. I would try to get lot three if you have kids because it's nice and grassy and has a fire pit and picnic table. My kids loved collecting oyster shells during low tide. Our stay in the king suite room was delightful! It was clean, cozy and the view was stunning. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere quiet and quaint. The only down fall was the highway noise. It was pretty loud but not terribly disrupting. The calmness and serenity from the waterfront made up for it but I wasn't expecting it to be literally right off the highway. I will return! We were excited to book this place bc when visiting family in Shelton, the options for lodging aren't all that great or plentiful. The total cost for 2 nights (Friday & Saturday) was just under $240. That was for a 2 queen bed room with a kitchenette & balcony. We got in late on Friday night & the 1st thing we had to do was air out the room bc it was extremely hot & stuffy & had a funky smell. No more than 5 mins later we started getting the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke wafting into our room. I stuck my head outside the sliding glass door & noticed a lady sitting on the balcony next door not more than 4ft away smoking a cigarette. I was kinda surprised to see that bc there are signs posted all over that it's a no smoking property & the email I got also stated this more than a couple of times. We left for most of the day on Saturday & again came back late to our room. Instead of walking into a room that had been tidied & with beds made, etc. we walked into our room exactly as we had left it. I was pretty dumbfounded that for the amount of money we paid that basic housekeeping wasn't included. We finally asked about the smoking issue when checking out which was the only time anyone was in the office. They said that the balconies were the only place smoking was allowed with a shrug. Seriously?? We will definitely NOT be back. read more

What a sweet, hidden gem this place is. We've come 4 times now in our new RV and every time it's been easy, clean and very relaxing. The RV spots are back in giving a beautiful view of the canal. The bathrooms have showers and towels if you need to use them. They are clean too! The concrete pads are awesome and hook ups are top notch. There isn't much at all for kids if the tide is in. My friends and I spent the night after our wine tasting at Hoodsport Winery. The waterfront is a quaint place with clean rooms and courteous staff. There are spots for RVs and cabins available, but we stayed in a suite with double beds. There is a kitchenette, but no utensils so we found that kind of silly. Overall, good experience and willing to stay here if we are in this area. read more

This is our first time here and it's very nice. A little on the pricy side, one night cost us $59 however, it covered full hookup. They have very nice and clean bathrooms with very clean showers if you choose not to shower in your rv. There is wifi, BBQ pits, a laundry room utilizing quarters if you need to wash some clothes, a community room with a tv, dvds, games and hang out area. They sell ice for $2/bag and firewood for $6/bundle. Clam and oyster digs are available during season on Wednesdays and Saturday's if you have a license. I love the front view and how close you can be right to the water and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful sounds of nature. This will definitely be a place we come back to with our family! read more

Loved this little place right off Highway 101 about 2 miles before Hoodsport. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. I stayed in room #23 which is upstairs and the view was fantastic. Upon check in I met John who was very friendly and personable. I also needed toothpaste as I had to dump mine at the SeaTac security checkpoint, it was under 2 bucks for a full tube so no insane gift shop prices. The room was extremely clean! I couldn't even find any dust, fingerprints, or water spots. The shower head was spotless, no signs of mold or dirt anywhere! The room was equipped with one king bed, mini fridge, microwave, small coffee pot, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and flat screen TV. The bed was comfortable, nice linens and extra pillows. The room had a balcony with a small table and chairs which was great for taking in the view. They have hotel rooms, cabins, and RV sites all along the water front. In the evening they had 2 firepits going where guests gathered to talk and relax. There were also a couple of docks and area to launch smaller boats. I would definitely stay here again. read more

About an hour later, I got a call from a place just up the road where we could get a place for a month. I actually booked the wrong weekend and Carol called us to see if we we're going to be late arrivals ! I had booked us 1 month too early!!! Carol fixed it and did not even charge me for my stupidity! We went RVing with a group recently and were impressed with the camp hosts, Ron & Kathy Johansen. They run a good business with manicured landscape. We found they keep the rules such as you must pick up after your dog, fires at beach only and drive slowly in the park. We were going to clean out the fire ring for our hot dog fire later in the evening and asked them for a bucket to put ashes in, and there they were, cleaning the fire pit for us!! When we wanted wood, we went to the office, purchased it and THEY delivered it for us. We would definitely refer others to stay here. Thanks for a great stay! read more
