I LOVE LOVE this place! I was searching for a place for host my bday weekend for me and 5 other girlfriends. We're CITY GIRLS from Seattle and some of them weren't open to the whole outdoors camping thing. I wasn't looking for a fancy place, just a chill, relaxing, roof over our heads, beach front place. And I was NOT dissapointed at all! Summertide isn't fancy or your 4 season hotel. Kim and her mom (the owners) we're GREAT, the nicest people and workers there. I'm planning on having my bday retreat here every year from now on. How could you not love fresh oysters and clams, and the fire pit at night. This is coming from a girl who has everything (except a man) and has nice brand name things, but doesn't need a "W Hotel" type atmosphere to have a great time. If you really don't care how the place looks and just wanna relax and get out of the city for the weekend and don't mind the LONG drive from Seattle, I really recommend this place!

Clean, comfortable and unpretentious, and WOW what a beautiful location. What it lacks in elegance, it more than makes of for in so many other ways. Bev, the owner, is such a friendly and gracious host. She made our family's stay there a vacation to remember. Sitting on the shore of Hood Canal with a beautiful view of the Olympics, it is a great place to relax, unwind, watch the tides go in and out and enjoy beautiful sunsets. After six days there, we did not want to leave. The unit we stayed in had three comfortable beds, a big dining table and living area, fully equipped kitchen and best of all, a deck right on the water with table, chairs and a gas grill. I wanted to be out there from first light until way after dark, such a peaceful spot. We also enjoyed canoeing on the canal and observing wildlife, and the community fire pit is a nice touch.

Stayed here for 2 nights in an RV spot with full hookups in what they call "the meadow" which is gravel RV pads surrounded by trees. Our space was somewhat level, not perfect but that's fine. Mostly quiet and laid back. One of the permanent residents listens to music (old rock and country, if you happen to be wondering if you'll enjoy it) that you can hear while you're outside but you probably can't hear it while you're inside your trailer. We couldn't. The owner is sweet and kind. I would say at least half of RVs here seemed like permanent residents and all were either welcoming or indifferent to our presence. We were parked next to a mobile home that someone lived in and their A/C was on most of the time. I'm pretty sure the marijuana smoke and most of the cigarette smoke we kept smelling came from that direction. It was somewhere very close by, in the park. We weren't at the trailer much but both evenings that we were we had to quickly shut things up on that side and air it out on the other because our whole trailer would quickly take on the smell of cigarettes and/or weed. Pretty much the only real downside to our stay, I'd say. Easy access to the water with a boat launch. The shoreline you can explore is only about 150 feet or so, due to no trespassing signs on each side for privately owned property, but it's a good chunk of space to hang out on. There's a neat dock you can walk out on. Lots of baby crabs and hermit crabs that my son had hours of fun catching and playing with. I'd stay here again if I were in the area. One thing I will add is that you can pull through to come in but you have to back out to leave. But it's a good sized space and we didn't have trouble backing out our 24' trailer.

The park has many permanent residents, spots for long-term stays like ours, and several pull-thrus for overnighters. Not easy to get a reservation but well worth it if you can. Price is very reasonable. The park is kept very clean, laundry facilities are wonderful and not too expensive ($1.25 per load washer and dryer), and there is a sweet little stream running through the park sided by a large grassy area that was wonderful for our dog to run and play. No one objected to him being off leash there, but he comes when he's called, so I'm not sure how people would react to a dog that isn't under control. There were some ducks in the stream and a little bridge that crosses it. We felt very safe here and had quiet neighbors. There was noise from Trosper Road, but not more than the usual two-lane road, and certainly better than freeway noise would be in some of the other parks. Fred Meyer, UPS/fax store, Albertson's, Wal-Mart, and Costco nearby, also gas and coffee shops and other smaller stores. We would love to have found a house in this area. Would definitely recommend this place for short- or long-term stays.

Microwave, fridge & freezer in the room. 6. Temperature perfect. 7. Coat rack on the wall, as you come in. 8. Quiet. Hubby can't hear me talking when I'm inside, unless I yell! 9. Love the floors! Negatives: 1. Faucet handles needs upgrading. 2. No stopper on the sink. I use a Kleenex, to prevent anything small falling in the pipes. 3. The room is not so bright. I have to turn on the TV for additional lights, so I can see what I'm doing. I cut & sew! I need ceiling lights! 4. No EWTN TV. 5. The bathroom and the bed is not ADA Compliance. I have bursitis, so it's difficult for me to climb up the California Bed. We have that at home, but I get up on a step stool, to get in/out of bed. The tub is hard to get out, specially if it's slippery.

We were in room 25, with a gorgeous view of the Sound. We had two queens (haha, so very appropriate...!). The mattresses seemed new and were comfortable. The room was clean, the sheets fresh, the kitchen area clean and stocked with Keurig cups (well, that's a bit of a downer, but not their fault). The room was very nicely decorated with all kinds of quirky prints and hangings, making the room cheerful and fun. The TV was quite large (55" ?). The halls and other common areas were clean and well decorated, again cheerful and fun. The grounds include a parking area for RV's which was well organized, neat and tidy, with a couple green areas and some cabins on the North side, but that wasn't the main event... ! They have a very pretty little stream that even had a few flowers when we visited and which empties into the sound, where the estuarial mix of fresh and salt waters attracts birds (and fish? need to find out!). They have a small pebble beach with steps leading down where they said it is fine to launch a kayak or two! To the South there is a power plant outlet! My excitement might puzzle those of you who don't fish in Winter, but not only is it deep and fast running, but may be warm enough to attract fish. It, like everything else we saw about the waters, appeared clean and free of trash, as one might typically see nearby RV camping. And..., There are some lovely businesses nearby at HoodCanal. We had coffee there at a very nice little shop (HoodCanal Coffee, who'd have thunk it?) and then ventured next door to the little wine shop, which was FULL of curios, art, and so many lovely little things. The proprietress was wonderfully chatty and really helped fill us in on the area. And that leads us to the people... ! The nice lady running the hotel was out of the office (pro tip: there is a call button to the right of the office door that pages her, so just tap that), but popped up quickly. She was very friendly and, when we ran out of coffee creamer, which we mentioned in passing in the hall, she told me not to bother coming down the stairs to the office and that she would bring it right up, which she did. She also had more information on the local area that was very helpful. We were very pleasantly surprised and will certainly be back... with kayak(s)!
