Very disappointed- showed up for a father and son night out to play pool and eat. Walked in and no one was at host stand, waited a few minutes before walking back to the pool tables. Got a table at the pool tables. Tried to get people to help me get a pool sticks and menu, they kept ignoring us, went to the bar and asked for help, she said I had to wait for a server - they never came after 15 minutes so we had to leave pissed off. Note to owner- get better staff.. I also had your menu in my AirBNB which I took out because I think you less then full restaurant is going to go out if you don't get better staff. I approve. Some of the dishes are hit or miss but I like the tacos. Good flavor; I don't drink so can't comment on the drinks. I like the ambiance some of my crew doesn't because they think its a bit dark. I have always had very nice servers so can't go wrong with this place! read more

I wasn't going to leave a review.....here goes. We decided to give Froggy's a try on Mother's Day. Big mistake, huge mistake. There were lots of people enjoying the day with their Mom's and Froggy's was no different. My son drove all the way from Austin to surprise me for the day. It was nice that we were able to get a table without a wait however as soon as we sat down the wait person - Shelby - informed us the kitchen was backed up by an hour. Oh on the plus side they offered a free basket of chips & queso while we waited. Okay no problem. We ordered drinks, because why not they have a full service bar. Drinks came and so did our free appetizer. Shelby was awesome and attentive as she had no control over the kitchen. We sat and enjoyed each others' company. Finally after 55 minutes our food arrived. My son ordered from the Brunch menu because it was Sunday and he had not eaten as of 2:00 P.M.; I ordered the Brisket burger with Cajun fries and my husband ordered naked wings, sauce on the side. My husband's food and my food was fresh, my son's food was ice cold, the cheese was not melted throughout the skillet bowl or whatever it was he ordered. Very disappointing. A long wait and cold food. I feel bad because my son paid for our meal and his was the worst one. My first Mexican Martini was beautiful, rimmed nice with Tajin, the second one was horrible with no Tajin. The kitchen needed more help during the Mother's Day rush. Tried Easter breakfast brunch. Ordered the omelette. The potatoes were dry and not flavorful at all. The omelette was bland. No salt & pepper on the table. If breakfast is going to be served, condiments should be available. My coffee was hot. When I asked for more coffee I got a new cup. Hmmm ok. This restaurant should stick to their regular menu. We go here sometimes, mostly for an old school happy hour. However, you have to know EXACTLY what is on special, and what is excluded, and they do not tell you this up front, or answer you correctly when you ask. For example, they have lots of draft beer and will tell you the happy hour special is $4 per draft, but forget to tell you it excludes certain beers...then you get the bill, point this out, and they refuse to adjust it. Had lunch with wife and sis!! We had drinks (Moscow mule and Diablo marg.), both were very good. The appetizer were well proportioned and tasty (Froggy trio)!! Lastly we had the Pablano bacon cheese sandwich, Cajun shrimp Alfredo and the fried avacado tacos, All were outstanding!! Doesn't feel very clean, the food crew seem dirty and give a care to their appearance. This place doesn't seem like they do very well even after covid. Staff seems too comfortable around here. The female host with glasses is nice and courteous and apologized after she noticed I was bothered by the screaming from the staff in the kitchen. I give this place a one star because of their greed. They lost my business before I could even get a table. I've been wanting to try the place for a while now so I figured the perfect time would be on a UFC fight night so I went in to see UFC 259. I walk in and ask for one spot at the bar in front of a TV that is showing the fights and they say it will be $10. Although I'm already kind of upset I have to pay $10 just to sit there I was like ok well do I have to pay it now or can I just add it to my tab and they respond with no cash only so I said no don't worry about it then and walked out. Tried Froggies today for the 1st time. Pretty disappointed but not surprised. I ordered the chicken fried steak with a side of grilled vegetables and a salad. The chicken fried steak was greasy and as soon as I cut into it, it completely fell apart. The meat inside separated from the crust and the meat itself was deep fried and dried out. It was just gross. The "grilled vegetables" were canned green beans and carrots. The salad was from the bag with cherry tomatoes (no effort whatsoever). The fried pickles were good but they were also so greasy. I had to smash them on a napkin to get the grease out to eat them. The cheese dip and chips were ok. So sad that this businesses in this town just continue to take shortcuts and expect to get high dollar for sub par food. The owner came over and asked what's wrong with the cfs even though the waitress had shown him the plate and it was obvious it was gross. He asked if I would like a discount and my reply was I want it off my bill! He had a bit of an attitude. He didnt have the courtesy to come to the table and talk to me. Unpleasant staff and rude owners were not a good start to our meal. There was mass confusion on where to sit people that were not there to pay for tables for the UFC fight tonight and the tension was palpable. It took the bar 20 minutes to get me my beer and service was slow overall. The food was just okay: bland and not plated well. I hope this place improves because Victoria needs more local eats instead of chains, but tonight was not it. Our once a month date night was a bust here. read more

If you are a woman and want to feel gender discrimination, this is your place. The daytime bartenders are shady and apparently still in high-school based on the treatment I received. They over-serve the bar "regulars" to the point of obvious intoxication. I stopped in for a couple drinks one afternoon and I closed my tab with a 25% tip, but one of "regulars"(a male) and I were in the middle of a conversation so I asked for one more drink which it shouldn't matter gender but apparently here it does. I look up and all the women bartenders are huddled in the corner talking. The next thing you know, the manager comes over to tell me they can't serve me anymore. The "regulars", who have had twice as much as I had and were there all day, were continuing to being served. When I asked why I was cutoff after complete embarrassment, the manager was non-responsive. I finally got one of the bartenders to explain what happened and when it was explained to me I was spoken to like a dog. She told me that they can't serve me anymore because of my "demeanor". I would be understanding if I had been loud, obnoxious, or even appeared intoxicated but I wasn't. I've never felt so embarrassed and discriminated against in my entire life. I can only assume there was a personal issue happening there. Either way, I won't be back and refuse to support a business like this. read more
