Inside view from my table by the window. Lots of local artists work on the wall to check out too.

Really warm and inviting spot as a visitor to town. The young lady who waited on us was super polite and helpful on menu questions. The omelette was SUPER good with fresh veggies and legit sausage (not some processed version). We might be heading back today for lunch so maybe a second review. Give it a try...you won't be sorry.

Here today! The Water Well Cafe was recommended by one of the player's parents, we like recommendations! When a person recommends goods, services etc that's a business owners vision and my applaud to this business owner. The Water Well Cafe is a restaurant I'm sure will be handed down to generations to come, that's how memorable our experience AND meals were. My bus load of 30 female softball winners and their parents from Beaumont bombarded the restaurant unannounced. That was no problem for The Water Well Cafe as they were excited to have us because that's what country folks do, they be excited to have company. The restaurant sits in Victoria, Tx historical downtown, I'm assuming it's historic because it was given vintage vibes. They area also consisted of other restaurants and bars which was open but not allot of people because it's a small town. I dropped my passengers off and parked my motorcoach around the corner, as I was searching for a legal spot I noticed their Police Department so I made sure I paid attention to any and all posted signs. To my surprise, someone from the restaurant took the time to find me to make sure I found a good spot a block over. I return to the restaurant to discover my group waiting on me so we could all enter together, awww. Just kidding, because we dropped by unannounced there was a short wait to put our tables together and get ready for their out of town patrons. The waitresses took our orders by tables and numbers to ensure we received the correct order, she answered all our questions about our meal choices and to keep things simple offered not to up charge on specialty sides. The kids were given a budget on their meal and would have to pay out of pocket for the overage, NO PROBLEM said the restaurant. Do y'all place your order then change a side or the entire meal itself because of someone else choice? I/we did and then waitress was patient along with answering ALL our requests. You know how restaurants will have on their menus "No Sharing" not The Water Well Cafe; the waitress recommended those that order the chicken fried steak should lol. They appreciated that because there are restaurants that are butt farts about that. What was a lot of chitter chatter prior to receiving our order went to a quiet restaurant, I want to mention OUR DRINKS NEVER GOT EMPTY! Our orders arrived hot and no one had to send their orders back for corrections. The Water Well Cafe should be if not already a Tourist Attraction, the food was some good ole country cookin'! I would undoubtedly return while passing through along my travels AND recommended to others! Here today. There tomorrow!

I don't eat down town very often due to the parking. But today I found a spot close to the Water Well and was able to stop for lunch. My amazing waitress which turn out also to be the owner was awesome. Jennifer you can tell truly loves her job. I ordered the Ribeye salad for lunch it was topped with a huge chunk of ribeye. The salad was not a bowl of wilted lettuce it was fresh greens, pepper, micro greens and was served with homemade ranch. This is a must eat.

Had breakfast with my sister and mama. Everything was good. The customer service was excellent. It's downtown in Victoria so the parking can be easy or hard depending on when you go. I enjoyed my waffles and mama really enjoyed her breakfast sandwich with the running eggs.

Great place for breakfast! Coffee was really good, chicken and waffles and pancakes were great. They have a nice selection of traditional breakfast and Spanish breakfast too. Service was great! Our server was super nice, always checking on us. A real nice change from Ihop or Dennys. We like good breakfasts and this delivers. The store is nice, clean, and has a real artisan feel to it. Being downtown Victoria adds to the feel. Try it out, you won't be disappointed, and you will NOT leave hungry!

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food in Victoria, Texas, Las Tapatias Mexican Cafe' hits…read morethe spot . I've tried a little bit of everything here. Their street tacos (both beef and pork) are solid -- and that's saying something, coming from a Bay Area native who grew up spoiled by next-level tacos. The flavors are fresh, the tortillas are on point, and it's definitely one of the better street taco spots in Victoria. But the real star for me? The taco salad. It's massive, loaded with fresh ingredients, and somehow manages to be both hearty and refreshing at the same time. I've ordered it at least four times now -- it's become my comfort meal when I don't feel like cooking or just want something satisfying and familiar. I've also had their gordita a la carte, which was simple and tasty -- but again, that taco salad keeps pulling me back. Between Las Tapatias' taco salad and my Grumpy's Meatzzeria fish plate, I'm set for my go-to comfort meals here in Victoria. If you're craving authentic Mexican comfort food with generous portions and great flavor, give Las Tapatias a try. You'll probably find your own "regular order" before long. Food rated 3 stars but our server was so nice & so helpful I gave 4 total stars!…read moreThere were four of us and we had the following : chips and loaded queso, cheese enchiladas and double rice, pork tamales, small bowl tortilla soup, and one combo beef fajita taco&chicken enchilada. We went through two bowls of homemade chips while we were waiting for our entrées . The queso was very good too. Our server advised she had seen them not to put the hot sauce and pico in the bowl of soup and it wasn't near as spicy so that is how I ordered mine. My grandson said the pork tamales were just OK, not as good as what they usually get closer to home. His friend ate maybe one enchilada in a little bit of rice, he said it was good. My soup looked really good but was super salty.-so much so that I only ate about a quarter of it. During this time our server came back-and-forth to check on us. Make sure everything was OK and refilled the boys drinks numerous times. The real problem comes when you consider the ambiance. The building was very old. The floors were very scuffed and did not look that clean the entire ceiling was those old-fashioned tiles and were stained with water and what might've been mold. The interior could've used a paint job. It was very bland looking. Overall, it didn't look the cleanest either. It's really rare that I have come across a place that was as dilapidated as this. Just be aware of this should you go. I'm hoping for their sake since they've expanded their hours to be open seven days a week that they're able to renovate the property.

This restaurant opened in November 2024. I thought since I'm in the coastal bend region of Texas,…read morewhy not try shrimp enchiladas? I'm near the gulf coast! Unfortunately, the shrimp enchiladas were terrible. They were in some sort of gloopy Big Mac sauce, and the last time I checked, I don't like my Mexican food tasting like McDonald's. They were also the lightest-ever enchiladas I've eaten. Typically there's some weight to enchiladas, but the container seemed awfully light to the point where I opened the to-go box before I left to ensure rice and beans were included. My hotel is pretty much in the same parking lot as the mall, and the meal had pretty much solidified by the time I reached my room about 5 minutes later. The rice and beans, horchata, and salsas were good though. I should forewarn one salsa was extremely spicy. It was good, but definitely more spicy than your average Mexican or TexMex restaurant. And for the record, I'm a lifelong Texan, so I've eaten at my fair share of Mexican/TexMex restaurants across the state. I would've rated two stars for the abysmal enchiladas (men I've experienced better), but lowered the rating to one star. I had an upset stomach at 1AM. This was the only food I'd eaten before bedtime. I won't return!
