I got a groupon for a color, cut and conditioning. I was told I had to pay an extra 40 for a full color and she took 10 off since I only wanted my bangs cut. This is a pic of my bangs. Found them through groupon and called to make sure I could get an appointment and they told me not to buy the groupon but they would give me the groupon price when I went in for service for of partial highlights, conditioning and cut ($60 valued at $230). First off, making an appointment was easy and partial highlights were done pretty fast. I sat under a hooded dryer for about 30 minutes for the colour/foils to set and then ushered to the sink for a rinse and hair conditioning. It was a very quick rinse and a hair mask was applied and I was left at the sink for another 15 minutes or so. Another quick rinse with cold/luke warm water and I was back in the seat. I didn't realize it until later, but either the chair was full of hair or the robe was full of hair, because I couldn't stop scratching during the whole process and afterwards. On to the cut... I asked for a layered bob (pretty standard cut) and she parted my hair to the side and started cutting away my still-wet, towel dried hair. The cut was done fairly quickly considering the length and volume of my hair. My hair was still considerably damp and again, I was ushered to sit under the hooded hair dryer. I sat there for another 15-20 minutes thinking that the hair dresser will blow dry my hair afterwards, but she didn't. After 20 minutes, my hair was still damp and she told me my appointment was over and to pay. My hair looked worse than before getting it cut since it was splaying out in all directions. I would have thought that a hair dresser would make all attempts at making their hair cut look good before the customer leaves. I came home and showered immediately to get all the bits of scratchy hair off of me and blew dry and flat ironed my hair. It didn't take more than 10 minutes to dry completely and there was a section of hair that was 2 inches longer than the rest. Had the hair dresser blew dry my hair properly, she would have noticed this and trimmed my hair accordingly, now I was stuck thinking this was the worst service ever and never going back. I can't even leave a review on groupon since they told me not to buy the groupon but pay them directly. The actual service was no more than 20-30 minutes, but I was stuck under the hooded dryer for almost an hour while the hair dresser chilled in the staff room. Even with the coupons and decent hair colour, I will never go back nor recommend them to friends. read more

Do not purchase the Groupon for a haircut and colour! It is completely misleading as they will make you pay extra for everything! It says it's worth $230 in services, but in reality it isn't even close! I paid extra for the colour, even though the Groupon does not state that it is for your roots only (this should have been covered) the stylist didn't check my hair to see if it was cut even, it's not. Quick take: my hair cut is uneven, I had to pay extra for the hair colour and she didn't blow dry or style it - that would've cost me even more! Worst salon experience ever!! Awful. Do NOT go here for laser treatments! I've had better and proper laser treatments for my armpits at Juillet Spa and brazilian at Refresh Laser (Angelo's) so I know what a good technician does. The ladies at those salons told me beforehand what I should do before my session and at the sessions they went over how the treatments worked. Maryam did none of that, when I walked in she just told me to strip and get on the bed. She very harshly shaved me with a razor over areas I had trouble with and threw the razor onto the bed by my thigh and said that I didn't do a good job (but that's why I bought laser because it's hard to do) - this felt very careless and unprofessional. In my previous experiences, when the laser techs had to touch up spots that I missed, they took their time and were careful to be gentle - as they should be! Maryam was going to laser the whole area all in one go with no rest if I hadn't stopped her and asked her for ice. She said "you want ice?" Yes of course! Why else would I ask?? When she came back with the ice bag, Maryam dumped the bag of ice onto my already sensitive and partially-lasered crotch as if it wasn't the most sensitive part of my body. I was so shocked and honestly wanted to leave but I didn't know how to end it - yeah I was scared. I wanted a Brazillian and I don't think she went over the whole area properly (especially my butt).In the moment I was kind of glad she didn't do the whole area because I was in so much pain I wanted it to stop - however, I probably wasn't getting my money's worth. Maryam did not take the time to look over her work and to see if she needed to do any touch-ups. From my previous experiences, the technicians double-checked their work and would go over areas they missed. When they were done they immediately slathered aloe vera. Maryam did not look it over or put on aloe vera for me. This session was less than 5 minutes which is way too quick, she definitely thought she was a skilled professional. Judging from other reviews where other customers have had trouble complaining - I don't even want to fight for my money back or ask for compensation for other services. I will not be returning and I hope no one goes here either. I thought the Groupon would be a good deal but this was an amazingly horrible experience. read more

I bought a groupon for this place thinking I'd give it a try. Booked an appointment.. the staff said the appointment would take about an hour (for a women's haircut and conditioning treatment). Sounded about right to me. Firstly, let me say that I REALLY wanted to love this place. Great, clean salon with friendly atmosphere. The ladies were very sweet and hospitable. The reason I'm giving a negative review is not because of them (they are very nice).. but the lack of skill. I've pretty much had the same type of hairstyle for the last 7 years so I know how it should look. After washing my hair, I explained to the stylist what I wanted (trim off an inch and layer the bottom part of my hair). Pretty standard. She BUTCHERED my layers. When she was done, she let me see the back of my hair with a mirror, and I was shocked at how uneven it was. She literally cut a chunk of hair off the top of my head and called it "layers" (looked more like a bob at the top of my head). When I made a comment, she said "oh, when you cut your hair short, that's how it'll look, but don't worry, it looks worse in the mirror and better in real life". 10 months ago, I donated 10 inches of hair.... so my hair has been short before, but even then, no stylist has ever left my hair looking so bluntly and unevenly cut. She even went on to say that my hair only appeared uneven because my hair colour was growing out. Wow. Blaming other factors. Also... my hour long haircut and conditioning treatment appointment only took this lady 20 minutes. The hair cut was so bad, I went to another salon a few days later and every stylist I encountered pretty much laughed at how bad the haircut I'd received was. It took a lot of texturizing to somewhat even out the damage that had been done. Even now, the hairstylist I went to after admitted the bottom part of my hair is so bad, I'll just have to wait for it to "grow out". It's unfortunate, because this was the first haircut I'd gotten in almost a year... and it had to go this way. Again, I really wanted to like this place, but when you give a bad haircut and have to make ridiculous excuses for it, that speaks volumes. The salon is clean and the ladies are very sweet, but the skill level is extremely sub-par and I will not be going back. read more

Bought a Groupon for 3 Brazilian waxes for $60 which is probably the cheapest one yet to be seen. I've said this before, and I'll say it again...with Groupons, you truly get what you pay for. For that reason and that reason alone, I deem the service three stars instead of two. The wax was rushed and messy - I left with a bit too much wax on my junk for comfort and a bit too much cleaning up to do once I got home. The price vs. quality of service debate is quite the conundrum but considering the sheer number of Groupons available, maybe businesses will learn that $60 for a regular price service is a teensy bit steep. read more

I bought a groupon for haircut, conditioner & partial color for $59 (value of $169).... I went to the salon and was not really impressed at all, they made me wait over 30 mins for my appointment with out even apologizing. Plus my groupon had so many limitations and extra add on charges... I paid extra for blow drying since it wasn't included and i also paid extra for a few more highlight's because my groupon included just a small section on the top of my head.. I ended up paying $70 extra!!! I'm surprised shampooing was included since it wasn't on the groupon.. I am not impressed with their high prices and would not go back or even suggest it to anyone.. My highlights turned out good but my haircut was awful and not even... I ended up going somewhere else to fix it. read more

This place was meh: I bought a social shopper coupon for a keratin treatment, and I just wasn't impressed with the experience. The stylist touched my face a couple of times when doing my hair; the water temperature used to wash my hair wasn't even lukewarm, also she got water in my ears; gave me a dressing gown with hair all over the inside, thus got all over my clothes (when I asked for another one due to the amount of hair on my clothes, she didn't bother apologizing or made any comments, or gave me another one for that matter); messed up my bangs, then telling me "it'll fix itself when I wash it and do it myself"; was quite rough when it came to straightening my hair, almost clamped my ears a couple of times. Anyway I do realize that this is a coupon so you get what you paid for, but honestly I'm so disappointed by their service, I wouldn't consider going back. Like most of the people on here, I had a groupon type thing for just a hair cut. The stylist was nice and actually did a good job cutting my hair, she did it really fast. My only issue was at the at the end of the cut she put me under the dome drier and after a few minutes said I was done. I have medium length hair so the top of my hair was less damp and the ends were wet. Really strange doing that to a customer. Anyways just because of this I won't go back here again. Today I walked in for a shampoo Blowdry, being from out of town (and a hairstylist myself) I thought a quick trip to the salon would make my trip that little more enjoyable. Sadly, the stylist I saw was quite critical of my "dry" ends and my tangly fine hair. Im a hairstylist, I know the condition of my hair sucks, but no need to comment on it when I'm here for a pick me up, not a tear me down. I called to book appointment and was told NOT to purchase Groupon as they charge the merchant too much but I was promised Groupon deal for haircut and deep conditioning. I was not impressed with the service. Due to me having gotten a discount, I was told by the stylist that she couldn't dry my hair completely nor style it because she's busy with another client and my price doesn't include styling. I understand the styling part but if my hair can't even be completely dried, that's crazy. I will not recommend this shop to anyone nor going back. Perhaps they shouldn't participate in Groupon if they can only provide such limited service. read more

Yesterday was my first visit to this salon as I'm trying to find a place close to us now that we reside in Port Moody. I was interested in starting laser hair removal treatment, but having never done it before had questions and some concerns. I was greeted by the owner who is also one of the laser technicians and she explained to me in great detail and patience all about the treatment and I went in today for my first appointment. The service was excellent, Miriam (not sure of spelling) was lovely and kept me at ease during the whole process. The entire space had such a nice warm and inviting atmosphere to it and I'm going there again next week to try out one of their stylist. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

1995 OLD laser machine as she said. Dont waist your time when so many clinics have amazing offers/new lasers that WORK! I lasered my arms & waited 4 weeks for the hair to fall off but sadly only the upper part did but not from elbow down. I PAID $85+$5 tip for 1 session for i told her, Maryam, i only need 1 session and not the deal $115/6 sessions! ON TOP- She tells me to NOT TO BUY from groupon.com so she doenst have to pay commission. I went to her store to express my concern BUT she simply REFUSED TO EVEN LOOK AT MY ARMS & said i MUST PAY to redo the area again. I am a regular satisfied customer of Fara at From Hair On. Fara has cut, colored and styled my hair for over 10 years. She has done layers, highlights and full colors on my hair. She has has seen me through growing my hair long (keeping it healthy) and cut it shorter when I was ready for shorter hair. Many people have given me positive compliments about my hair after Fara does it. She has cut my boys hair from when they were age 1 to now that they are ages 11 and 13. Fara has cut my husbands hair short and stylish for all these years too. I highly recommend her as a great hair stylist. She has been getting skincare services here for five years and said that I would be disappointed. Upon meeting the owner and esthetician I was completely comfortable and put at ease. She walked me through the process and made the entire experience great! I've now been to five sessions and my bikini hair is almost all gone!! I met with the owner who is also the esthetician and she walked me through the process and I have now after a few sessions I'm so impressed with how great it worked! I bought a groupon for deep conditioning and haircut. I booked the appointment for both myself and my tween daughter as a fun "mom & daughter" pampering hair appointment. It was a disaster. Ashley (the hairdresser with pink hair) took my daughter and gave her a two minute "deep conditioning" at the SINK - (this is supposedly a value of $30), and then proceeded to hack 4 inches of her hair off (instead of the 1.5 inches I asked for). But worse of all, when I noticed and asked her to stop, she gave me such attitude and argued that I didn't know what I was talking about!!!! There was no apology or even ATTEMPT to make us happy customers... Talk about poor service! I was so upset. The lady (Susanne) who did my hair was very nice and tried her best - but overall the experience was so horrible I will NEVER EVER GO BACK. It wasn't worth the $29 I paid for the groupon - thank goodness I didn't pay the full $70 they "CLAIM" was the value of the service we "received". read more

I went in today and purchased a Groupon beforehand, but they wouldn't accept it since I didn't show it before the hair cut/ highlight. Ok. I was fine with paying the full price but Bita, the lady who did my hair ruined it. I wanted a lighter color but she would not dye it for me. The whole time she was giving me looks of dissatisfication, and she kept pulling my hair while cutting it. I will NEVER be going BACK AGAIN. Not only do I look hideous, the service was horrible. Got poked in the back, before washing my hair twice to stop me from sitting down, she could have told me verbally. I don't even know why I had the courtesy to give her a 10 dollar tip. I was belittled, denied of proper customer service and she ruined my hair. NEVER been to such a horrible salon before. She even washed my hair with cold water... I don't even know what to say. I should have left the moment she started speaking to me in a condescending tone. The Canadian in me stayed, but I really wish I hadn't. I now have to head to a difrent salon to fix the mess she's made. Also I was charged 126 for horrible service and the partial highlight doesn't show. She LITERALLY only put 3-6 foils in.
