Me and two other girlfriends came here on a whim while we were staying a weekend in Vancouver, and this was by far the best salon experience we've had. Although two of us made appointments prior, I was so glad they could squeeze in a walk in as well. A bit cautious with going to a new salon at first, I just booked a haircut, but by the end of my appointment, I was convinced to get highlights there too before leaving! The vibe was very friendly and accommodating. With mimosas in our hand, the stylists worked quickly but diligently and the salon itself wasn't too loud nor too quiet--everything was just right. I was looking for something specific in my cut today and the one thing I'm more picky about than my food is my haircut. DAYNA delivered it beautifully and nailed what I was looking for, and more, she's so incredibly friendly, down to earth and humble that you wouldn't even guess she's a Master Stylist. But, once you see your hair you'll know....she's an absolute expert. The place is vibrant, fun, young and has great energy, and Lina and her staff are all super nice, attentive and professional. The location of the salon couldn't be any better, as it's literally right in the heart of Yaletown with all the awesome restaurants, cute shops and cozy coffee hangouts. I wanted a few foils to brighten my hair. No hair cut. The owner came over and told me I needed a full head of foils. I went ahead thinking this will cost about $150 - 200. Normally in any of the salons in Palm Springs or Kelowna a cut and full foils would cost $325 CA. The colour was good but took a long time. The bill was close to $500. I was shocked. The owner came over and gave me 10% off. The bill still came to $443 for foils with no cut. I paid but gave half the tip I would normally give. Don't be fooled by the foil fee on the site. They charge a lot more for every step, wash, blow dry etc. than any other good salon I've been happy with. I won't go back. I felt played by the owner. Another Vancouver ripoff. The colour was good but no better than my other experiences. I'm giving stars only for the colour. read more

I went for a cut and I was assured that one person was the person was the person I should see. When I got there that person greeted me at the front desk (not right away mind you) and said it was someone else and assured me she was great. So we chatted a bit about what I wanted and i showed her photos. She nodded and said she knew exactly what I wanted even though I wasn't sure she really knew. It was something a bit edgy, something different. So after a clumsy hair washing in which I felt water rolling into and past my ears and onto my face, I ended up with a cut that felt middle aged and staid. I'd rather take my chances at VCC. At least then I wouldn't feel so...robbed. It wasn't as bad as I imagined it might be. The cut came in at just under $100, just. I booked in requesting a blowout, as I explained that I have long straight hair I asked the receptionist if she thought it would hold if we got in at 4pm for the evening. She assured me they would do a great job and use products to hold the hair longer. When I arrived I was made to wait 45 minutes past when my scheduled time was. The hairstylist felt rushed and not able to handle my request... I showed her photos and communicated that I wanted a blowout... she was sloppy when washing my hair and then she basically blowdried my hair almost completely (with a regular drying technique) and hesitantly used a tiny round brush at the end to lift a tiny bit. She then gets the large curling iron and makes hesitant sloppy curls that made me look very childish. I wish I spoke up and left because it was clearly NOT a blowout but she constantly said "I know what you want" and led me to believe she would somehow lift the hair at the end. I was really not happy with the result and disappointed that they could not handle doing a blowout or booking me in properly. Very terrible experience I had, would not recommend. read more

Mediocre at best. I wanted a simple layering job, I even provided a photo and she still couldn't get it right. She layered the back of my hair nice but lest the sides long with almost no layers. O've never had this done before anywhere else. When I pointed it out she just didn't seem to get it - but she did offer to fix it. Since she didn't seem to understand what was wrong, I didn't want her hacking up my hair more. At least it still looks ok and I can grow it out. Another thing I didn't appreciate- she quickly mumbled while shampooing my hair that I needed a mask and just did it, without asking me. She literally put it on and rinsed it off right away! I had a great time at PinkLime! I get my nails done nearby in Yaletown and kept passing by the salon. It looked so cute from the outside and when I checked out the website - it was very easy for me to navigate. Booking was very quick and easy! I arrived a few minutes late to my appointment due to some transit issues - the front desk staff were very kind and gracious, they immediately offered to take my coat for me. The salon. is brightly lit without having harsh overhead lights. They had a good volume for the music and the music was a fun mix! It was hard to not want to bob my head along. There was a great energy between the employees working the floor. Maryam(my stylist) was warm and kind - gave me a lovely wash and scalp massage and then went to work on my shaggy mane! to transform it! She did a great job giving me exactly what I had asked for - thinning out the weight of my hair and giving me layers that framed my face. I was in and out in 1 hour! Which is impressive - I have fine hair but there is a LOT of it but it was no match for the skills of Maryam! I will be back - maybe for some colour! P.S. they even offered chocolate on my way out! 10/10 - will be back and highly recommend. read more

I agree the atmosphere seems like high energy, some of the stylists are great, it just poor customer service with the front staff and inconsistency experienced in my last visit. My first experience was superb. I had left a 5 start review. I now have to delete that.The second time as horrible. They up charge every service you do. You pay for wash, tone, and a blow dry even if you are already paying for color. Oh and this doesn't include the starting price of your style or whatever you booked ( color , highlights, etc ) they also didn't even highlight my hair properly, only the top of my head. Had a last minute event and they found a place to squeeze me in in less than 18hrs from the time of inquiry. As soon as I walked in this morning(and it was early for me) I was warmly greeted and informed of them brewing up a fresh pot of coffee. Never even had to ask I am very picky about my blond‍ Maryam just gets what Im going for, even if I don't articulate myself well in colorist language. She is so easy to talk to, kind and them skills though When I walk out of Pink Lime all I want to do is toss my hair around as the beautiful blond shimmers in the sun. Came here with a girlfriend to get hot stone massages. Unfortunately there was construction going on next door so it was super loud during our massage so it wasn't so peaceful but, that's ok it wasn't their fault. As the massage went on I sort of forgot about the background noise of construction men talking/making loud noises. O The room was clean but, it was sort of small and felt a bit cramped with two beds... It was my first hot stone massage and I was really excited about it. The massage was really nice the hot stones I wasn't sure how they were going to be used but, it felt really nice I loved the heat from the stones. My lady had good pressure and she was very polite. I went for a 60 min hot stone massage and there was total chaos in the salon , it was super busy and from first impression the stylists had a forced smile and seemed overworked. The Asian receptionist definitely made me feel like I was on a conveyor belt. Anyway, she let me in to a small but beautiful roman style spa section tucked away divided by a door , where I sat and she told me to get changed into a robe and provided me with a key. I got served some green tea I couldn't really taste then I met shelbie the massage therapist. She was super nice and the entire hot stone massage was amazing ..but throughout the hour I could hear footsteps, opening and closing of the door , and the commotion going on outside which destroyed the experience. :( I really wanted to just relax . Maybe Pink Lime should provide bring ear plugs to the clients? I give 3 stars because the experience was good beside from the noise, and the forced friendliness. For the groupons value it was worth it but I don't recommend paying $110 for 60 mins, for that value you could get a much better experience at shangrila spa, willow stream, spa utopia, or Thai smile wellness. read more

First time I went to the salon and met Cibeli, she understood right away what I wanted and told me the best way to fix my hair after someone else ruined it! Went for the hydronating facial with extraction, though Juillet did a much better job from the evidence (yeah, I know that's gross lol). But Joanne did a great job explaining each layer of service, ie toner, moisturizer, etc. Small room, and not a resort feel---so not much strolling around which I like haha. And when using the washroom, it faces the whole store so be careful in doing a #2 here, everyone will know and smell. Fan was a bit weak, if I recall. However, when I went in for a root TOUCH UP & colour - I specifically asked the stylist who did my hair (Burke) if a cut was included - she went up to the front desk to confirm and said yes the cut was included. As I proceeded to pay, the front desk slaps on another $85 to my bill - saying the cut was extra even though I had specifically asked before!!!!! I explained that this is not what I asked for and they wouldn't budge and insisted I pay up! Absolutely appalled by this- no way to run a business or treat a customer. Her hair looks basically the same just without the split ends. The hair dresser did not listen to her on how she wanted it trimmed either, just totally disregarded her. I've read so much about how good this salon is , so I've decided to give it a try. I live in the area and have tried many salons and so far none has exceeded my expectations. So, I decided to give it one more try at Pink Lime which I heard so much about, I walked in to talk to a stylist and to maybe make an appointment. The receptionist called the only stylist that was there cleaning the front the stations. She came over and the receptionist introduce me and her, the stylist quickly grabbed and hugged me which kind made me feel taken aback, I don't know her and she to me. She asked what I wanted done, I told her I wanted an all over dye job to darken my roots and to dye the grey hairs that's coming out. She said she could take a look and decide on a colour, I wanted a dark brown colour, which is what my hair colour is. So, I got seated in a chair, she looked at my hair and ran her fingers through my long hair, now I know there are knots in my hair, (common for long hair), well she just ran her fingers through my hair and when she hit the knots she just kept going yanking my hair. No matter what she had to get her fingers through the knots. She said no problem , lets look at some colour swatches, I was taken aback I should have walked out by then, but I was stupid and decided to go through with this stylist. We looked at the colour swatches I wanted a darker colour but she said her professional advice was to go a few shades lighter. So, since she is the trained professional I thought I better heed her advice. Well, the appointment was booked for the next day, I was hesitant to go but figured I better go or just have the grey hair. My biggest mistake ever, now that I think about it, I think she was not a professional stylist. She was hyper, which made me think she had ADHD, I was already scared and not sure if I should go through with this but it was already too late as she already has started to dye my hair. Twenty minutes later, she went to wash the dye out, she just put me in the wash area and turned on extremely hot water, without asking me if I was comfortable with the temp. it was really hot and it just shocked me. It made me jump, I had to tell her that it was too hot and it was burning me. She adjusted it, and finally that wash part was done. What was funny was that, she left the wash station not cleaned, the manager asked her if she used that station, she said yes, he said clean it up. She left me and went to clean up the wash station. Finally, it is ending she just got to blow dry my hair and I am done. But, one last thing, she took a brush from her bag that was lying on the floor, now I didn't think to much about it but it was not right I don't know if it was sterilized or not or if it was her personal brush. She used that on me and you know what ever since then I have itchy scabs on the back of my hairline right on my scalp. It is so itchy that it is scratched raw. I have been to see the Dr. and they think it was from an dirty brush or something not cleaned and was used on someone with the same problem. So beware of this and ask questions if you are unsure, I definitely will not be going back to this salon. So, I am on medication to clear this up, also I've had my hair done before at salons in Coquitlam and have never had problems with dyes, so there was never any allergic reactions to dyes. I got a shellac french Mani here by Kyle, amazing fitting me in last min to fix my broken nails. The salon is a bit chaotic but the girls up front were nice, they offered a mimosa after I arrived. The music was pretty aggressive spa music and the location felt loud but that wasn't a big deal. The gel manicure plus removal of old gel as $63 after tax. The only thing that wasn't great was I didn't get a massage after application which I thought was included in the Mani. I'd come back in the future I think but when it's not so rushed. read more

After coming here just for hair product every month or so, yesterday, I decided to try a new colour. The stylist who was ringing me up, Cebeli, was rockin' the cutest cut and colour herself, so I just went for it. Even though the salon was buzzing, they set up an appointment for later that day. Cebeli was friendly and very methodical and professional in handling what was definitely a colour challenge! I had faded elumen salon dye plus Aveda colour conditioner over that. Look up elumen online and see how tough it is to rework it; you need to be an artist who understands colour. Cebeli is that artist. She took her time and transformed my muddy rainbow of hair into vibrant tones of red. I'm super-happy with the result! Overall, I got the impression that the whole team works well together and it made the process very relaxing and fun. The owner was there, too, and was so welcoming and friendly. A 5-star salon -- reminds me of Devachon Salon, my go-to salon in NYC. read more

How does this place even get good ratings? If you want a really bad hair cut that's unfixable, this is the place to go. I had an appointment with one stylist but they gave me someone else without telling me. I didn't know I was getting someone else because it was my first time there. Everything from the shampooing to the haircut was horrendous. I don't know how a master hairstylist with that much experience can do such a horrible, unprofessional and sloppy job. I kept thinking it was going to look good in the end based on the reviews and the years of experience the stylists have, but it was actually just downhill from the first snip. If you're into bowl cuts and horrible layers, and crooked hair, they can do that for you here. Hoping to save someone from the bad experience I had. Don't do it. I've been here a couple of times, and each time it failed to impress. The first time I had a facial and the girl was rude, and the facial was nowhere near as nice as you can get elsewhere. But the worst experience I had was when I went with some girlfriends, and when some of us were done a few minutes before the others, we decided to wait for them in the lounge area. No problem, right? WRONG. Several times a member of their staff not-so-subtlely suggested we leave, even after we explained we were just waiting for our group to be done. Booked originally for 4:30 on friday, using a gift certificate from a friend. The GC was originally for a whole package and she assured me I could use it for any services amounting to the same value. Which I confirmed on the phone when booking. I booked a couples massage, upgraded them to hot stone, and took a good friend for her birthday. Later the same day I called back and had the appointment changed to 4pm, which the guy on the phone confirmed. At 3:55 I get a phone call from the salon, from a girl this time, in a snarky voice who asks if I'm still coming and my appointment was for 3:45. I tell her I'm almost there and yes we're still coming. We arrive at 4:05 (parking can be tricky) and Ms. Friendly lets me know our treatments will be cut short since we were supposed to arrive at 3:45 and "actually it's 4:07"... :| We're brought to the back, changed into robes, and brought to a tiny, but cozy room. The massages were lovely. Actually really nice. The stones could have been warmer, and left places (or bottoms of feet) which only some spa's seem to do. But it was relaxing. Afterwards the estheticians had to zip to their next appointment so we hoped into the steam room on our own and made our way back to the lockers and saw ourselves out (no big deal, that was fine). Funny that after all of that we were changed and dressed by 5:15 (should have been 5:30 since our package was 1.5hrs). We didn't have watches or a clock in the treatment room but it certainly appears our massages were cut short because of their own scheduling mistake. Back at the desk we stopped only to leave a tip for the girls who did our massage, only to be greeted by everyone's favorite queen grouch, and the young guy who made the booking mistake. When I booked I gave him the gift certificate number and he said it was great. Suddenly they couldn't find it, and SHE starts SCOWLING at us across the desk (seriously, what the hell)! I remembered the GC number and recited it three times, they finally found it and they start trying to tell me I owe them $55 more dollars for the treatment... I looked at them blankly, let them know I didn't, it was all taken care of from the gift certificate and the money on the counter was for the girls. He looks back to the screen, sees who bought the gift for me (a regular there) and all is suddenly fine, and the girl walks away suddenly. I REALLY wanted to love this place, I really did. Friends of mine come often and are close with the owners so I had high expectations. Bottom line, it was their mistake and my experience suffered. If they had called to confirm appointments (like most salons and spa's) this could have been avoided. As for the girl with the short hair, there is no excuse for an attitude like hers. read more

I came here for a pedicure with a friend. After booking the same day; a rare find. We were asked to come in later as the previous appointment was running longer than expected. A little annoying, but we were very understanding. Our nail tech was very nice and pleasant to talk to. We did not feel forced to talk, as the conversation flowed nicely. The pedicures were quite mediocre and I wish I could say differently. My soles look like they have a lot more dead skin than when I went in and it seems as though she didn't take the time to really exfoliate and file it away. read more

I was very impressed by my hairstylist she listened to my needs and took her time making sure I was happy every step of the way. It is a bit out of my way to come to Yaletown, as i live in Burnaby, but, once in a while I need to treat myself and I really feel like I'm being treated well, when I'm at this salon and spa. The cost for service is comparable to most places and the service you get is incredible. I will continue to come here, it is becoming one of my favourite Salon and Spa locations! read more

We are on vacation in Vancouver and school starts next week. My daughter, 15, was going back to school after being homeschooled for 3 years. She really wanted a cut and few highlights, a big change from her straight hair that was down to her mid-back She actually wanted her hair purple but that is another story. We walked in to the salon and Hanif gave her one of the best haircuts she's ever had. It's really grown up and sophisticated. Mariam talked her out of purple hair (thankfully!) and gave her cute highlights that really accent her face shape and color. She left feeling beautiful. While we were waiting for her color, Hanif talked me into getting my hair cut too. My hair is long with lots of layers and really wavy. It's not the easiest hair to cut but Hanif got it just right. We are still waiting on my daughter's color to process so my friend was the next Hanif's chair. She had recently moved from the Bay Area up to Seattle and gotten a cut that the stylist didn't quite get right. It's bobbed short with longer pieces in the front. Hanif got the cut right and sold her some product that would help to give volume to her hair. It's always daring to walk into a salon in a new town and change your look. If there is any place that you can do this well, it's at Pink Lime with Hanif and Mariam. They are both master stylists and colorists. read more

Had my first Pink Lime Spa experience yesterday, through a Groupon deal for a contour wrap and mini facial. From the moment I walked into Pink Lime I felt like I was on a mini vacation. Service is friendly and quick. I was seated in the mini lounge, but before I could even start looking for something to read, Nicole, my aesthetician introduced herself. I can highly recommend the contour wrap. I had my doubts about really losing inches (thought they would come back after drinking water), but it's the next day, and I still feel smaller, and incredibly clean... inside and out. What a great way to get rid of toxins! While at the Spa, I decided to upgrade the mini facial to a full one and I am glad I did. 90 minutes at the Spa really felt like a mini vacation. I walked out refreshed, rested, and with great skin tone. Another very positive point about Pink Lime is that you don't get the feeling they are trying to sell you products. Nicole informed and advised me about facial products that were good for my skin type, but left the decision up to me, whether to buy or not. So different from other places, where you get pushed into a purchase. I'm a fan, and will certainly come back to Pink Lime. read more
