My and my wife went to the George for breakfast on a whim one morning…read more I went for the large while she went for the small. We only ordered one coffee and an orange juice. It was very tasty and not too small for the money, the only change I would make would be beans on the small breakfast. The food came quickly and was hot, it all tasted delicious for a pub level of quality. The bacon was too salty for my tastes but I prefer food with less salt so it might be fine for others. The ketchup was not Heinz as well. The price was £6 for the large and £4 for the small breakfast, a good price even though it didn't include drinks. The total was under £14 Internet access is free and quick but kicks you off after 30 minutes. No signal on 3 though so you would probably miss calls if you wanted to do some work here. The decor is traditional pub and gives a warm feeling to the building. There are real fires but they were not lit when we were there, not surprising for breakfast time though. This was a return visit for us and we will visit this pub again.

It was a great British pub no TVs and a great old worldly look and feel. The food was excellent I had the steak and ale pie which was outstanding and full of meat a real cow pie aka the Dandy comic book. If you are in the general area pop in it also has a nice garden with river view

The room was a reasonably spacious, well-appointed double en-suite with interesting bits of furniture. Complimentary brownies on arrival were excellent! Good little minibar with a solid small label Champagne. The shellfish tasting menu was lovely with particular highlights being the bisque, scallop thermidore, and the lobster. From the a la carte menu we also had scallops (pork belly, cauliflower purée, lime syrup) which was also very good. Breakfast similarly perfect in the morning with fresh orange juice, poached eggs and toast. Naturally the whole experience wasn't cheap, but it was excellent value.

It would be good for the restaurant to get some of the Margaret River wines on the menu and for some of the Blue Fairy Wrens to flit about in the bushes. The latter can't happen but the former could. However, the seafood platter for two is outstanding and has to be enjoyed slowly whatever the state of the tide.
