Our guide prepped well for our ride - they asked the right questions up front to understand what type of experience we were able to handle and looking for overall, then fully delivered! The bikes were awesome - a complete setup tuned for the trails we rode. In addition to knowing about the trails (rules, etiquette, etc.), he was knowledgeable about the area in general and it was great learning more about how people enjoy the sport in the mountains (which I found interesting since I hadn't ever biked in the mountains!). We were provided with plenty of water and snacks, and a crispy malted treat at the end which was a great way to end the day. We did two back to back days of biking in the Denver area. The day we spent with Nick and Front Range Guides was much better calibre. They had great quality, full-suspension niche mountain bikes. Really enjoyed riding these bikes, felt safe on them to really test out speed and turns which makes a huge difference. I rode with Nick a couple weeks ago, and it was a fantastic experience. I was on a vacation in Denver and drove up to Ft. Collins to meet Nick, and it was totally worth the drive. He is super-communicative over email and gets a lot of details in advance to prepare for the ride. I am a strong intermediate rider and was looking for a fun challenge, and he took me on an awesome set of trails outside Ft. Collins. We rode a great mix of flowy, chunky, and technical trails, including a BIG climb and an amazing payoff; my only regret is not sessioning some of the more interesting stuff on the awesome downhill. It helped that Nick also put me on a really nice full-suspension bike. And then, fun bonus, he took and then emailed a bunch of really great pictures. Nick took my buddy and I on a half day ride last month. Both of us are Novice middle aged riders who flew into town for this. We had an absolutely amazing time on this mountain bike excursion. I'm a pretty novice rider while my friend is quite proficient. They were able to find a trail that made us both comfortable, but also challenging within our individual skill sets. I was never uncomfortable at any point of the ride. They were able to be flexible with our vacation schedule along with our location preferences. I didn't know how it would work since we didn't bring any gear with us, but Front Range Ride Guides provided everything we needed including lots of water. Everything was clean and well taken care of. I felt very comfortable. The ride itself was extremely enjoyable. We took ample breaks when necessary. Had a lot of great conversation with our guide. Nick was a great teacher for our 4 hour class. There were three of us. He taught us techniques immediately applicable to our riding as intermediates. We then practiced on switchbacks near by and gained confidence in our ability. We have since been on rides and got over new rocks and down switchbacks that weren't attainable prior to the class. With a mere two days to plan my trip to Denver (google packupgo if you love surprises), I wasn't sure where I would end up. I love mountain biking and I'd heard of a relatively new sport called fat tire biking. A quick on-line search led me to Nick at Front Range. With very little notice, he was able to schedule a private afternoon excursion! I wasn't expecting snow and arrived in Denver thoroughly underprepared. Nick replied to my e-mail promptly and assured me he had plenty of snow gear. Ten minutes early, Nick picked me up from my hotel and we were off. The drive into the mountains flew by with our easy rapport and within no time we were at the trail head. After a quick lesson on fat bike nuances and a few wardrobe additions we were off to the races! If races meant trying to see how slow we could ride without cow-tipping. I had NO idea how a heavier bike, nobbies, and 4 inches of snow could affect my speed (or lack there-of). But what we lacked in speed, we made up for in amazing scenery and what turned out to be fantastic weather. We chatted easily through the incredible forest, stopping occasionally to take pics, grab a drink, or let people pass. Only later did I realize Nick was taking pictures WHILE riding! A master multitasker indeed. It was a great workout on the way up but never steep, just a gradual climb. Nothing technical at all meaning I could focus on the important things like nature. The flowy downhill on the way back had me grinning from ear to ear. Nick made my day, and this fat bike adventure was the highlight of my trip. read more

I booked a 4 hour mountain bike skills clinic online less than 24 hours in advance. Since it was such short notice, I assumed I would have to call to confirm the reservation, but I was wrong! Nick emailed me within a few moments and we got through all the details. I am a beginner on a mountain bike and was fairly terrified of it. Nick is so thorough! He covered bike basics then we worked on skills. His communication and teaching method is awesome. When we were working on a skill, he could tell I was getting frustrated by having zero success, he changed things up, explained in another way, demonstrated again, and bam, success! I then had a chance to apply these learnings in real life. Nick gave advice as we rode along. And while I chickened out on a couple of spots, he was so supportive and I never felt guilty for not attempting something.
