I've been to 2 other physical therapists and wasn't sure it was even worth trying a third. I am so glad I went! In the hour that I was there, he asked me questions to identify what was happening, narrowed down what I could do to minimize the pain and by the end of the appointment, I could roll from my back to my side over and over - something I haven't been able to do without practically being tears since the surgery. I left in complete shock that after all this time, he was able to help me so much in one hour. I especially want to commend Dr. Peter Van Doren for extensive physical therapy rehab following my hip fracture. After release from a rehab hospital, I was marginally functional. Following Dr. Van Doren's rehab PT, I am now walking 15 miles a week, pain free. What makes Dr. Van Doren unique is, when one is unable to perform an exercise in a particular way, his extensive expertise immediately shifts to a Plan B and sometimes even a Plan C as work-arounds to achieve the desired outcome. The bottom line is he always gets results! More recently, Dr. Van Doren treated me for sciatic joint pain and also bone on bone knee pain. Following injections by my ortho Dr., and a PM&R Dr., combined with their physician-ordered PT have again restored full functionality, and I'm pain free.
