The meat was good the mashed potatoes tasted sweet though so not a fan of those. But for $26 I wasn't even complaining. Now back to these fried pickle, I text everyone I know "I just found the best fried pickles in Texas" as I scarfed them down. If you are ever passing through you must stop to grab a basket of them. My husband and I were out on a motorcycle ride on Christmas Eve and passed through Caldwell. We were excited to see something open and decided to stop at Daisy Dukes Barbecue--and I'm so glad we did. From the moment you walk in, you get that hometown, come-on-in feeling that lets you know the food is going to be good. We were starving and couldn't decide what to order, so the owner suggested a sampler. I don't know if it was an official menu item or something she just put together for us, but she absolutely loaded us up. We had brisket, sausage, fried fish, potatoes, potato salad, coleslaw, and beans--and every bit of it was amazing. We even grabbed two desserts to go. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place, and I can't believe it's been here forever and we've never stopped in before while traveling through. If you're in the area--or even if you're not--it's worth the trip. We can't wait to come back.
