They love to take from the unfortunate.. nothing but bad experiences. They make it super easy to get screwed over every way possible:) Costumer service is pretty good though. This bank is by far the most customer focused bank I've ever been to. I feel like I'm the only customer every time I come in.

I have been with EICU for over 30 yeast and have been happy with them, but not anymore. In December 2021 I made a large deposit and was told I would not be able to use it for one week. Well the week came and went and I had to call them after 10 days to finally be able to use my own money. Last week in December 2022 I made a deposit and it is still pending. It was a check I wrote from another account I have. I know that it has cleared my other bank, but EICU told me funds will not be available to me until January 17th. So I can't get the $ to use from them or from my other bank. I had a small Venmo payment go through so they put $1000 on my line of credit and charged me to do it. I also have a Visa account with them with no balance with a limit that would have covered the deposit. Just terrible business practices. I will be done with them! Also I bought a new car last summer and when I went to EICU to finance it they told me I had to go somewhere else as they didn't work with Utah dealerships. read more

They refused to count my roles of change due to their POLICY after sending me away from their smaller branch n telling me to go to the main branch. Their coin machine was down and I explained I need to deposit it now due to a bill coming through and they sent me to Albertsons to use the coin star which cost me $15 to use and I was not compensated. I asked Wellfargo if they would take coin and they said absol as long as they're rolled which is understandable. I'm not short in my account because I had to pay a fee to deposit money. I don't see the point on banking here anymore. I will be canceling my account. read more

Terrible service. I took out an auto loan through them and they sent me a notice saying that I missed my payment, but failed to tell me on the notice how I could make a payment. Their website is terrible and completely not user friendly. I tried to input my loan information but the account wouldn't register. After calling them, they stated that I couldn't make any transactions over the website, but only over their phone app. How does that make any sense?? Transactions should be able to be done both ways. Anyway, they refused to wave my late fee because it was past couple days from the due date. I decided to instead just pay the entire loan off so I wouldn't have to deal with these clowns. At least I don't have a loan through these guys anymore. read more

Worst bank EVER! You would think because they are member owned that their customer service would be better! They are rude, unwillingly to help, and their policies are beyond ridiculous. The branch in my area closed, but we were reassured that the mobile banking app would More than suffice for our needs, so we stayed with them. Bad idea! Their mobile app sucks, and there is no specific time of day when they approve their mobile deposits! It's literally when "they get to it"! Their very own words!!! And if something bad happens in your account because they didn't approve your mobile deposit in time, they wash their hands of it instantly, even if the fault was in their own system!!! So dissatisfied!!! Will be changing institutions!!! read more

The folks in the Salmon Branch work hard and deserve 4 stars. The home office in Idaho Falls, on the other hand, have messed up things on numerous occasions (billing, addresses, notifications, follow-thru) and they deserve only two stars---hence the three stars. read more

Not happy with this bank. Recently deposited a cashiers check, checked the account hours after the deposit and all looked ok. Noticed today that the account is majorly overdrafted, with no communications from the bank of why. Called today to see what happened and they were no help and said we would have to wait until the 8/2 for us to get money in our account including continuing to add overdraft fees to our account until then, and couldn't even reverse them until then even though it's available. Again not happy. read more

My girlfriend and I closed our checking account because we didn't have any use for them anymore, and low and behold they reopened the account in order to make payments for us and collect that overdraft fee. I have an auto loan here, through a car dealer. The only info. I received after the loan was funded was a letter with the payment amount and due date, and the last 4 of the account # - no full account number, and no information about how to access the account online. They managed to credit the first few payments, but the next was returned to my bank because the account number was incorrect. When I finally reached someone by phone, I was informed that I would be charged a late fee for the payment that *they* returned. Ridiculous. read more

Would give zero if I could! Got a truck loan through East Idaho Credit Union, ordered it through the dealership, hasn't been delivered yet, get a letter in the mail staying if there's no insurance on the truck, they will charge an additional $7500 to the loan. I called the insurance company they go through, insurance service center, and two separate people I spoke to stated it was fine to not have collision until the truck has been delivered. I go in today to see if everything is still good, am instructed to speak with Janice about the loan. She couldn't even be bothered to leave her office. Not only was I not important enough to speak to face to face, so a third party needed to be involved, she bluntly wrote me off saying they were going to charge me an additional $7500 on the loan, no matter what the two other people I spoke to said. I would strongly discourage anyone who is thinking of ordering a truck or car to not get a loan through East Idaho credit union, as they go against their own words, can't even give you the time of day, and write you off like you are nothing. read more

I really have not had any issues with EICU. I have been with them for 3 years. I really like that they're opening a branch in Pocatello and that they have one branch in Shelley. I used the Ammon branch a lot and I've never had issues. read more

Most worthless bank I have ever had the opportunity to bank with. I work away from town and i try to get to town on time before they close to make a car payment, they close at 5:30 i was at the door at five til and it was locked up tight with all the employees up at the counter chatting away... It's an okay bank if you live in the area. We started with them in 2016 after getting a car loan at a dealership. It was supposed to be great because they did shared branching so we could just transfer money from our normal account to theirs. We went in for the first time to make a payment and get our bank info so that we could use the shared branching in the future. They informed us that they had just quit shared branching. So for the few years we were there, we had to come in to make payments on the loan. We got a second car in 2017 and they had the best rate, so we just made two payments when we went in. Then we move to the east coast. We then had to mail them money orders for the car payments because since we didn't start a checking account with them while we were there, they can't do it over the phone. Then out of luck, I had to go back to Idaho for work and went in to start the checking account, as they said I had to be there in person to start one, and they said we both had to be there to start it. So mailing payments it was. SMH. If you live in the area, it's an okay bank. If you don't plan on staying there, DEFINITELY look into a credit union that will participate in shared branching. Their communication isn't great either. Still waiting on a call back, been a month, I don't think it's gonna happen haha. Good luck if you chose them. read more

Both myself and my other half have switched banks to ICCU. I have never been impressed with their customer service out of the Woodruff Idaho Falls location or Rexburg location. When we applied for a mortgage loan, the office manager of the Rexburg branch was a complete idiot. The third party lender that they choose to go through, Centennial Lending, is also fairly incompetent. read more

I like east Idaho cu. They have always been professional and courteous when I have had to come inside to do business. Only suggestion I have is they need to have more tellers working during peak times (lunch time and 3:30 to close). Each time I go into the 17th street office, there is one teller on the line and a line of 3-4 people waiting. I think it would be a good improvement to have more people working the line, or someone from the loan department jump on the line to help members. read more

We opened a savings and checking account with them 12 years ago. 6 years ago we moved out of the area and had no problems due to shared branching. A week ago I went into the same credit union I've been using to make deposits for six years and was notified that east Idaho credit union no longer gives them access to do shared branching. We can only access it through the shared branching ATMs. Well there aren't any in my area. From one day to the next we no longer had access to our account. When I called, they assured me I could still make deposits through the mobile app but there limit placed on it wouldn't allow us to deposit my husband's paycheck. I asked why there weren't letters or emails sent out so we could prepare for this change. They said they did. I check my back statements and emails from EICU daily and never received such notification. The teller over the phone said I was not the first customer that wasn't happy and that they had been getting phone calls all day. Today I wrote a check out of my new bank account to ensure that my east Idaho account had just enough for the last check to clear. Well the mobile deposit app is done manually by a department so if you do it over weekends or in there evening it won't go through until the next business day. My biggest problem is that none of these procedures were explained before they were offered. When you call no one can give you answers either. If you're local I'm sure you're fine. If you move away don't even think about using them. read more

I have been with this Credit Inion for 15+ years with zero problems until recently. Customer service is atrocious. Manager at the Freeman Branch is one of the least professional people I have ever encountered in customer relations. I have seen better, more professional employees at McDonald's. I have purchased 4 vehicles and have had numerous loans through them. Closing all accounts (personal and business) and moving over to Westmark. This credit union has gone seriously downhill and I'm sure I'm not the only member to go elsewhere. read more

If I could give this bank a minus one star I would.I have banked with them for 20yrs and have wanted to leave for a while but stayed since it was easier. My last experiance was the last straw. Help desk completely incompetent made me feel like it was a burden for them to give me any information and teller talked to me like I was an Idiot because I wanted her to deposite a large check. Finally spoke to a manager who didnt seem suprised at the way I was treated and also did nothing to make it right. Funny thing is I took the same check to ICCU was in and out in ten minutes they didnt make me jump thou any hoopes they we very professional and friendly. I have only been a member for 2mnth. Previously they used a Mobi Money app so you could monitor all of your transactions. If there was a purchase on your account there would be a beep and you could check to see if it was authorized. This was stopped and they continued to promise for months that they would get a new program. After I was a victim of unauthorized credit card activity, I called the branch who had no idea when and if a new program would be implement. If I go outside of my area I have to call the bank and say I am going to such and such State so they will allow charges, however someone 3000 miles away can use my debit card without authorization and make me go through all of the headache of getting a new card, notifying any company on auto pay and having to get reimbursed for the fraudulent activity. Too bad the Credit Union doesn't take it serious when criminals gain access to your account versus you as a card holder trying to use your own card. Poor procedures allowed this to happen despite the bank being given updates that were never placed into the account holders information. read more

After being a member of this credit union for 26 years, we are closing our accounts, there service has gone below sub par, the management has a "we don't care" attitude. They have lost the personal touch that kept me as a loyal member for so long. If you are looking for great service from people who care keep looking! You won't find it here! read more
