After two days riding in the Mojave, then a couple days in the cooler air of Utah and Colorado, my 2013 BMW K1600 developed a misfire. Normally BMW bike owners only take their bikes to BMW specialists. But I like to think I can size up a quality person. I reviewed the area mechanics on line, then decided to call MHGM and Trevor (the owner) came right out. Trevor impressed me as a person who has a great deal of common sense, is a hard worker, will do his homework (will study specific reference material), very conscientious, and detail oriented. (all while maintaining social distancing, after all I am a traveler) Having left Colorado weeks ago and traveled several more thousand miles,I'm happy and relieved to report that the bike is rock solid! The guy and gal in the service department spent quite a bit of time helping to walk me through answers to my questions and searching for a replacement piece. I was impressed with how much time the guy spent trying to help me identify ways to troubleshoot my ignition issue. The gal in the parts department was really helpful too, taking a break from her lunch to get me the straps I needed. You don't get service like this nowadays. I was definitely impressed. I've had service done at RMCP a couple times, one being some extensive work after dropping the…read morebike. I can't stress enough how amazing the service department is. Derrick especially helped me a lot through the process and getting the bike back in shape. The low review is mostly reflective on the up mark on part pricing specifically. Researching the prices they gave me to what is available online some of the mark-ups were over 180%. One, that kinda just sucks in general, but two, because the cost they gave me was so high for the parts I couldn't go through my insurance to repair the damages because they would've counted it as a total loss even though the bike was completely repairable and I ultimately did end up paying necessary fixes out of pocket and then bought the other parts direct that I could fix myself or bring back to the service department to help with install (such as fairings). This is not a complaint on the labor costs; those are separate and valid for employees to get paid and even slight markup on parts is expected in the industry, but up charging anything almost 200% is diabolical.

Despite this, the shop door rolled up at the exact time of my arrival and I was efficiently directed where to park. I went in, dropped off my keys, and the front desk checked that they'd be able to fit me in. I understood, due to the volume of vehicles. When he returned, he confirmed it was ok to drop off, but mentioned they may not be able to get to my service that day. Not a problem, I wasn't in any hurry, and again- could see how full up they were. Imagine my surprise when I got a call saying I was ready prior to the end of that same day! I made sure to hurry in and grab my vehicle to clear up space for their shop. The service offered at this place is appreciated. I'll be back.
