I have been a fan of Frontier Custom Cycles since late 1999 and of the original owner, Jon…read moreBeauchamp. I have recommended this business for over 20 years and spent thousands of dollars there. Never again will I recommend Frontier, quite the opposite. Take your bike anywhere else. My bike went in 19 months ago for a BAKER transmission conversion, a 2-3 day job. I had called to schedule an appointment and was told they were booked a week out and to bring it in the following week. When I brought the bike in, I was told they were a week behind. I started calling every 3-4 weeks for status updates. I left messages. No calls were returned. Seldom was the phone answered. When it was, I got updates. Eventually I was told there was a bike ahead of it on the lift awaiting parts and once it was out, I was next. After 6 months, my bike hit the lift. I find it difficult to believe the no bikes left Frontier in that 6-month time. More likely, I was not a priority. Once the bike hit the lift, the conversion to the BAKER 6-speed went very well. Jon Beauchamp did machine work on the case and the new parts about fell in. This conversion required a complete primary assembly. On the rare occasion someone would answer the phone I was told they didn't know which primary components to use, and BAKER was uncooperative and the crew at Frontier would need to experiment to determine what to use. I emailed BAKER asking which primary components to use and received a prompt response with the required information. For over a year I've been told, first, they didn't know which parts to use, and then, they were awaiting parts (oddly enough, that sounds familiar). The beginning of August (16 months in) I was told all the parts would be in by month's end and to call back then. I did and was notified that the clutch basket didn't arrive and to call back in a couple weeks. I did so and the women who answered didn't have any information and would call me back. I still patiently await her call. I have left multiple messages asking for information, no calls have been returned. I stopped by on an October Tuesday, they were closed and there was a note on the door from another customer, it was left on Monday, another day they were supposedly open. That person was requesting a status update and stated they would appreciate a call. I added to the note asking for a call, there was no response. No idea if the other customer heard from them. The next Thursday I went in and there was a couple at the counter. The owner acknowledged me and asked how I was I was. I responded that he would be letting me know. He then turned his attention fully to me, ignoring the customers already there. I asked, "Do you ever return calls, and will my bike ever be completed?" The woman at the counter said she had the same questions. There was no response to those questions. He then told me that he couldn't get the remaining parts and I should pick up the bike, track the parts myself, and then bring it back so he could install them. After 19 months...why would I bring it back? This week I picked up the bike. Initially the owner acted as though this were business as usual. While looking at a disassembled bike and a tote full of parts I pointed at missing transmission end cover. "That you'll need to get it from BAKER." The trans was completed over a year ago, why wasn't it ordered then? I pointed out that perhaps we could have gone with an internal belt primary if only he'd have picked up the phone. His response? "You're just not gonna let this go." I'm just wondering why no calls were returned. "Bullshit!" he said, "We've returned calls." It's possible they did return one or two out of the 20-30 messages I left. On one occasion a man that worked there did tell me he'd gather some information and call back. He did. The owner then told me that if I were really concerned about the bike, I'd have come in. Isn't that why we have telephones? Is this why it took 6 months to start work? I live out East and can go weeks before getting as far west as Powers. He told me I've backed him into a corner. That I was treating him poorly. I asked how he should be treated. No answer. I then asked if this treatment was common to all customers or just me? No answer. Based on the comments from the woman at the counter, I'm guessing it's the norm. He finally walked off and hid. His worker had to find out if any money was owed to anyone. I was told we were even. All parts were paid for. Apparently, he wrote off some labor, perhaps the missing parts covered the labor. No receipt, no accounting of parts (new or old), no listing of what was done, or not, to the bike. It will be left to me or another shop to sort it out. The parts were tossed into a tote. It appears that the new parts (minus the clutch basket) are there and most of the parts it went to the shop with are there. The last thing he said before he went to the office to hide? "Get your fucking shit out of my shop." Done.

I bought a new NOBO 20.3 and could not be happier with the experience. From sales, to tech, to the front counter, the entire staff was accommodating and respectful of my time. I highly recommend Pikes Peak RV over any dealer that wants to sell you something off their lot. IT WAS WORTH BUYING OUT OF STATE AND DELIVERING TO OUR DRIVEWAY.

They held their ground and knew that they had the upper hand since they had the model I was looking for, and I could not find one locally. I get that. I'm from MN and they are in CO. Buying sight unseen was difficult and stressful. I asked for a walk around video and never got one, only pictures. I wanted to have the truck camper delivered since we had an elderly dog that could not make the trip. Delivery was expensive. We agreed on a price and somehow that price went up during final invoice time. I was told the camper would be delivered on Wednesday March 11. I got a call Tuesday March 10 and was told the camper was going to arrive "early afternoon that day". I took the afternoon off work to be home when it arrived. Later that morning I was given an updated ETA of 7:30PM. Shortly after 9PM, no camper and no word from them so I reached out. I was told that the driver was "in northern Iowa and would be there in 45 minutes". I waited 1 hour and nothing, so I called again. I was told that they were a half hour away, another lie. It was almost 11PM when they finally arrived. I took delivery of a $40K camper at 11PM at night in the dark of Winter. I paid a premium price for the deliver "service".... After the next morning inspection, all looked good. I did notice that one of the dust caps was missing on one of the four electric jacks. Not a big deal, but I'm an engineer and the manufacturer of the electric jacks supplies them with dust caps for a reason. So, I went on the manufacturers web site to order a replacement. The price of one of the little dust caps was $25 including shipping. I thought before I ordered one, I will ask Pikes Peak if they have a spare. I reached out to them about the single missing cap and was told "all of our Adventurer campers on site don't have any caps, but I do have a spare set that I can send you". I thought that was an odd thing to say. So, I checked the pictures on their web site of other Adventurer campers on the lot and, sure enough, all the pictures showed the dust caps in place on the jacks. That was just weird. Two weeks later, no dust caps arrived so I reached out and was told that they were sent standard mail. No tracking and never arrived. That was weird, too. I was told that they would send another set. I'm not going to hold my breath for those to arrive.... All in all, there were a few other odd stories I could add but you get the picture. I cannot recommend this dealership and won't be going back to them in the future.
