Good ol hometown cookin. Serves breakfast all day! This must be where all the locals come to eat so it must be good. Food is as expected, which is exactly what momma would've made. Definitely stop in for a bite when in town.

Well-prepared country cooking; a warm, clean atmosphere with wall paintings; quick and friendly service.

While I was in the restroom, I noticed a kitchen person in there using the urinal. He washed his hands. That wasn't the issue. The issue was that he had his apron on, and the kitchen rag in his pocket. He left, took a left out of the bathroom and went straight back to the kitchen. I would assume having to use a urinal with an apron on or even going to the bathroom at all. You would remove your kitchen equipment before you would go. Today is 12/20/2023. Time 12:31 PM. I did call to talk to management, but didn't get an answer. Finally gave up being on hold.

I still run a lot of this area but I haven't stopped in here for quite an extended period. So many changes through the years but still good to see it going along. Back in the day it was a two-lane highway junction of highway 92 and US 218 now back in the '90s they put in a huge four-lane freeway but at least they changed with the times. Last time I stopped and here was right when covid was really ramping up and the restaurant was closed and everything else. But as I was tooling along across hy92 out of Muscatine my belly started grumbling and I thought I'm going to get a snack and I took a look inside the cafe and I thought yeah they open later on for dinner they got weird hours cuz of staffing but I said hey screw it I'm going to go saw some z's and get up and eat here. It's still the old four corners truck stop still mom and pop owned they now like to call it FOCO for four corners duh! Lol Catering still to the truck driver but also the general public they have a very decent selection of a convenience store gas propane and of course diesel pump scale showers they're older not the greatest but it is what it is. But the restaurant is still there that's a great thing they've got some different hours though because of staffing a couple of times during the week they open for breakfast through lunch but then they shut down a couple hours before dinner. Still on by the same family that owns the truck stop so therefore this review is definitely going on this Yelp page because it is not separate it's the same place. They carry RONNOCO coffee which is a nice blend around Iowa and Missouri I like it the C store pretty much does everything it needs to do. There's a big seller here they have a beer cooler and there's a smaller place because you're pretty much out in the middle of farmland and there isn't a lot of stuff around just have to travel so they do a great business of that. I pulled in had hot dog and then a Powerade orange zero sugar. one thing that made Kevin very happy my favorite Powerade zero sugars are fully stocked here they're hard to find at the Big chain truck stops but there they were orange fruit punch and grape same stuff I buy at the grocery store at home. So out to the truck I went I ate it was lights out got up about 6:30 wander down in hungry ready for some food. They have all you can eat fried Chicken on Thursday and it's pretty much kind of like off of a buffet you serve yourself you can get some slices of pizza they have a godfather's on the premises too Express and they had some mashed potatoes and some other stuff that goes with the chicken. The cans are very clean they take a lot of pride in them they even have a sign of let them know if things aren't right and they do a really good job of keeping them up. I went with the good old fashioned hamburger steak with brown gravy on top no shrooms or onions that boy did they cook it just right too man that thing was awesome did it Canadian style with some french fries and gravy didn't want any smashed taters. And then the other side was corn they gave me way too much corn I couldn't eat all of that but it was still fine. At diet Pepsi. It takes a little while for the food to come out cuz it's prepared very fresh it was a lot longer than I thought for the hamburger steak there was a pretty decent crowd inside too but nonetheless it was really really good and all in all I will stop here again I was very impressed they're doing what they can do and they're doing a good job with what they have. So I'll know the old four corners at ainsworth Iowa is still a decent place to hang your hat for a few hours.

The Saurbraten was delicious and in and of itself deserving of the full five stars. There's plenty of parking in the back and side of the restaurant, as well as an accessible entrance. Walking in you're greeted with friendly staff, the extensive gift shop and yummy smells. We were quickly seated and it was obvious this was a local favorite (had been recommended to us by several hotel staff). Everything about our meal and experience here was great and if I'm ever within an hour of this place, it's worth a detour for another meal.

I'm a sucker for their family-style meal. With fried chicken, ham with pineapple sauce and their delicious roast beef. It also features some of the best darn cottage cheese with chives you'll ever have! Amazing potatoes and gravy, salad and bread with their made in-house strawberry jam. (Don't forget to ask for sauerkraut!) Unfortunately, I was in town this past week and my table did not opt for a family-style meal. (Everyone at the table must order it...) So I tried the pork tenderloin with a house salad. The salad was sublime. They event included a huge amount of ranch! My pork tenderloin was great. A bit thicker then what I typically enjoy-- but the breading was tasty and it was cooked perfectly. The staff is pleasant. Pricing is on point. The quality of all the food items I saw at my table was great! The walleye and catfish looked fabulous. Don't forget to checkout their cute store or their patio! Ox Yoke Inn is an Amana institution and you should stop on in for a family-style meal soon!

(3 sandwich choices and 3 salad choices) Service started off good with a waitress, taking our orders and getting us drinks. Once we had placed our orders is when the problems started to happen. We brought in a group of approximately 35 to 40 people. (We had reserved a party room) Sitting at long tables with approximately with 8 people to a table. We waited and waited for our order to be taken with some tables receiving their food before we had even ordered. The waiters and waitresses slowly went from table to table taking approximately 20-30 minutes in all to take our orders. We were the last table to place our order and people were being served prior to us even ordering. We waited for over an hour and never received our food. Some people were even done at point. Needless to say, we were a little exasperated and finally asked them just to bag our food. Believe it or not, that took them another 30 minutes. In all we were there for close to two hours without being served. And when we asked our waiter, why it was taking so long he informed us that they weren't expecting our group to be so large. I think I would've preferred a simple "I'm sorry, we messed up," or even if a manager had just shown up to let us know that they had forgotten our order completely, rather than the lame excuses that they came back with. I don't know if this was just a bad day for Blackstone or if this is what can be expected from them, but our experience there was horrible. Unfortunately, as we were from out of town, we can't go back again to see if the service will be any better. I do not recommend this place. The food may be fabulous, but we'll never know. Also be forewarned if you have any complaints the management does not care.

Review Visit: August 8th, 2016…read more Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo. I like to say that bar food is the best food, so when I am out and about exploring, I try to find pubs that have good reviews to eat at. With that train of thought in mind, The Buffalo came up on my radar one day after exploring Iowa. Having an empty belly that kept reminding me to get some food, I headed over to The Buffalo to see what they offered. Upon entering, I was greeted with the usual dim-lit bar scene. Nothing was too bright but nothing was too dark. It was the right mix of each. As for the bar itself, it was your typical bar with the usual decor that you see in most bars. What was unique about this place was the massive amount of writing on the ceiling. It seemed almost every ceiling tile had something scrawled on it. There may be a story to it, but it's not found on this out-of-towner. I ordered the The Western Bacon BBQ Burger with fries. I remember being disappointed in the small size of the burger but rather enjoying the taste of it and the fries. The small size of the burger was made up by the fries and I left with a mostly full belly and a smile on my face. Within reason, I am okay with smaller sizes if the flavor/quality blows me away. At some point during my visit, I noticed they sold those gimmicky pull tab lotto tickets. Being the sucker for a cheap thrill, I bought 2 for $1 or something like that. I won something like $0.50 and bought another pull tab.. which was a non-winner. Between the unique ceiling, tasty food, usual bar environment, and friendly customer service, I would have to say you won't be buffaloed by visiting this tavern.

Great friendly local bar. They have great drink specials. The Gouda cheese curds are terrific…read more Will be back for sure.
