Our room (Cobalt) was very comfortable…read more Kimberly, new owner, was warm and welcoming, very attentive, and seemed to make each visitor's experience personal. She chatted at each table over breakfast to check-in on everyone. Breakfast was delicious and filling. Kimberly has also been trying all the local restaurants so she can give first-hand recommendations (or avoids) to guests. We provided one or two comments about our stay and she was very open to feedback. If you like animals, there are some very sweet dogs and two adorable and super friendly kittens available for pets, if you want... but they aren't around all the time, so if you aren't keen on animals, don't worry, they weren't underfoot. Seemed to be a quiet neighborhood and all the antiquing you could want is very close by.

I found the Adamstown Inn online, and it was reasonably priced, the photos didn't look like Great Aunt Gertrude's parlor, and every room had an en-suite fireplace (my one stipulation). We stayed 2 nights in the Topaz room at the Amethyst Inn. It was amazing. The Amethyst Inn is a big, old (but beautifully maintained) Victorian home, converted into the Inn. Our room was equal parts Victoriana (joie de vie wallpaper and a very ornate cast iron fireplace) and Country - beautiful antique oak furniture. The queen sized featherbed was luxurious and we slept like babies. The bathroom was updated, immaculate and the jacuzzi was amazing. Breakfast was to die for. Four courses each morning of fantastic, unique home cooked goodness. Everything was so fresh and amazing. Their coffee was great (and endless) as well! The staff was wonderful and warm, but not intrusive. They were incredibly thoughtful. Every day there was a small gift waiting for us on the bed, and when we left they gave us snacks for the road! It snowed overnight the 2nd night, and they even cleaned our car off for us before we woke up. This place is first rate, gourmet, beautifully decorated and it is a wonderful respite away from Philadelphia. We, much like The Terminator, will be back.

There's also boba, coffee, I think a Christian bakery, candy, produce, and other foods and drinks that don't perish as fast, such as pastas, and other boxed & canned goods. There is also a family restaurant, I went there and it was amazing, the breakfast is top tier, although I have no pictures. The few vendors we went to were direct and seem experienced. The whole place looks lively and like (at least) the staff actually want to be there.
