Hello all. I was recently called to Minnesota for the sake of attending a rodentology convention, and having recently been separated from my beloved mouse, Truffle (aged 5), from my heinous Aunt Tesla and her prized fleet of falcons, I resolved to take Truffle everywhere with me on the brief excursion. Strapped securely inside his viewing bubble, which is affixed to the enamorating chest of this ladies' man, Truffle and I both realized we had a marked hankering for fruit. Reviews told me that this particular establishment in St. Paul has a delightful mangonada, I figured I could acquire a slice of watermelon for Truffle, and we had a tight window of time between our waking up, my bidding my previous evening's lady date au revoir as we escorted her out of our room, and attending the 4:00 lecture on the latest developments in artificial chinchilla reproductive technology. It was a 2.5-hour excursion, but with proper utilization of hydroplaning in my rented vehicle (which mirrored the purple one in my fleet back at home in my Auburn estate), we shaved it down to 1.8 hours. Round trip, of course, and factoring in departure time, Truffle and I left and returned in time. Upon arriving, I realized this would be a convenient opportunity to practice my Spanish, a language I have not spoken in six years. With frequent use of the phrases "Mi amado ratón, Truffle," "Amplía tus horizontes musicales al escuchar The Killers," and "Oye cariño, ¿quiere escuchar un dato sobre roedores?" I left the establishment with my delicious mangonada, fresh fruit for Truffle, a few new prospective lady dates, and my own musical horizons broadened by a customer's recommendation to examine the musical stylings of James Taylor. I was not disappointed. While at the convention, I acquired a T-shirt with the official Capybara slogan, "Excellent at both diving and swimming." Upon entry, the first sight that caught my eye in this fine establishment was a mango, so I have inserted the following image, moreover a rough rendering, to better exemplify what I found so endearing about the fruit. You wanna know one of the many reasons why being Mexican is the s***!? BOTANAS!!! Snacks in English. You might be thinking " Chile on fruit? hot sauce on chips that are already spicy? " Sounds crazy but the flavors of sweet, spicy, juicy and freshness of the fruit all combine this explosion of flavors all at once. You might think i am dramatic but im not! Usually I am a big dramatic mess but not right now As many of us in the Latino community in Minnesota, everyone knows everyone, no matter where you go .yes its annoying. Well this is how i came across this place. Which by though way if your Latino , especially Mexican and you come here, you will run into someone you know ! just a fact! This place is unique not like the rest of the Mexican joints. South Side Minneapolis we all know Lake Street has many Mexican Botana places . Yes their bomb BUT I have not come across a Mexican snack shop that gives you both " quantity and quality" . I have stumbled upon Mexican snack shops that either their fruit is old and just plain nasty or bomb taste but they give you such a small portion that basically 3 bites and its gone. Fruti Landia however gives you both. I have been here so many times i cant even count. Not once have I had a problem with my order and trust me when it comes to my food and i see something, smell something or i have this feeling that my food is not right I will let you know. I dont play when it comes to my food ESPECIALLY Mexican snacks. The portions they give you is soo ridiculous there huge and for the price you pay. its a steal! Even though the name has "fruit" in it they sell more then just fruit. They have ice cream, chips, corn, juices, candy and i can go on and on. Hands down this place is #1 in my go to snack places. I will say this if you suffer from heartburn, you should first go to Walgreens and pick up some Tums before coming here! you will be spiced out , in a good way. Hands down I would recommend this place especially if you have never tried any real Mexican snack or food at that. read more

Okay, I left this restaurant super impressed. So, I originally wanted bubble tea but it was way too busy so I decided to make a drive to get some mangonada and google recommended this place so I went. It's a small little Hispanic joint located in St. Paul that has 3 restaurants inside and a Hispanic dietary and jewelry store. The sign's paint to the building is worn off though so if you drive by, look for the building that has a fruit banner. Lol. Super casual atmosphere. Family oriented for sure. It does however get pretty busy fast. Anyways, the mangonada is your typical medium size, but it's super delish! Why? It's super smooth and extra mangoey compared to others I've had that have the mango and ice taste. They drizzle the red sauce throughout the entire smoothie inside and around it. It's also topped with fresh diced mango making it even better! Soooo good! Lol. And the mango tray was bomb af!!! The portion is huge! Can probably feed 2-3! Super fresh and sweet! Perfect for me! Came in with a lot expectations because the photos seemed promising!! I ordered the scandía loca and my husband ordered the mangonada (his go-to) they said that their drinks are made fresh, didn't know powder was fresh. They didn't have enough watermelon for my scandía loca nor did they have mangos to finish it. That's why I assumed the mangonada was made from powder since the worker said they didn't have mangos. My scandía loca was quite disappointing, just watermelon chunks, cantaloupe chunks, chamoy, tajin, and peanuts. Wish it had as much candies on it as it did in the photos read more

Our first visit here was totally worth it. We got a mangonada and mangos con chamoy/chile and they were so delicious. I wish I took a pic but we were too entranced. The mangonada also came with a straw covered in chile which was delicious to nibble on as a contrast to the sweet mango. For the mango chamoy order, the chile and lime made for an addictive combo. Super refreshing on a warm day. Our wait was surprisingly long though because the place was somewhat busy, but that won't deter us from coming back. read more

I can't believe I haven't run into this place since I drive by almost every day. Its a really nice and welcoming community. The mangoneada was amazing. To die for and only $5. If you love fruit and a lil spice this is the place for you. Their menu is really diverse and I'm sure there's something on there for everyone. Also great service and quick too. read more

Got there around 820 for ceviche and a mangonada and they said they were out of mangonadas. Also another thing is I asked tosti ceviche from the bag. And she gave it to me in a little clear container. I approached her and she said I asked for a to go order which wasn't at all true. She was a bit rude. You'd think having it in the tosti bag would be to go as well. So no mangonada and then the tosticeviche was 7.50$ she wants to charge 8.15$? Cause I used a card? That isn't the issue but she should've said there was a difference fee. I never have an issue with this location but I wasn't happy today. I'm coming from Lakeville. I want my expectations read more
