A new small Mexican Market in the Neighborhood, the owners are very nice, they have different kind of Mexican food ready to serve or some a la carta, they also have some Salvadorian food like pupusas, plátanos fritos, if you want to buy some meat for your bbq this is the place you can find some Mexican cuts. They have Barbacoa de Res, Lamb, Pupusas, tacos, tamales, birria de lamb, carnitas, buche, agua de piña, orchata, etc. I know they are just starting so hopefully they can add more items in the future. I am Mexican and I love to see my people growing in business in Minnesota. Keep it up my friends...! Y muchas felicidades en su nuevo negocio..!!!

Best Mexican food around period. They always have a variety of food prepared and also cook to order the Mexican staples such as tacos, tortas, etc.

All the things to make Street Tacos from home! Great authentic Mexican food!

Got a burrito here today. Unlike the Chipotle on Robert Street this place "brought the meats"!

The prices can get high on some items, but this motivates me to buy produce that is "in season" and take advantage of their extensive bulk section. Don't forget your reusable containers for bulk staples like flour, oats, rice, beans, nuts, etc. My favorite deli item is the Florentine burger. I also really enjoy their selection of vitamins and personal care products. At checkout, you always have the option to "round up" to the nearest dollar, and your change is donated to a local organization. Last but not least: Anyone can shop at the co-op. However, you have the option to purchase a membership that has some perks. There is a one-time fee for a lifetime membership. As a member, I get coupons and special in-store deals.

I have purchased turkey a few times that has gone bad in my fridge before or immediately after the sell by date. I have a brand new fridge as well, so that can't be blamed. When you charge this much for turkey, it should at least last until the sell by date. I also don't appreciate how when you purchase a smoothie, they pour massive amounts of it down the drain when it doesn't fit into your cup. At least set those out as samples. It is extremely wasteful.

You know, I was going to give this place 4 stars because the parking sometimes sucks. But seriously. Should I really be that petty??? So I made a mental list of the pros and cons. Inexpensive flowers? Check! Decent selection of produce? Check! A frozen aisle of items that make you go hmmm? Check! Plus they do the occasional sampling of something and it usually pretty good. Also, they OWN the self branded kick ass condiment market. The fried onion in pepper oil? Wow! The elote dip for chips? Can't get that shit in my mouth fast enough! The green bottle of jalapeño cream sauce? I will drown my eggs with that stuff! Plus the people that work there are all pretty awesome while dealing with us, the general public, who are in the grand scheme of things pretty f'n irritating. Honestly there is more but you get the point. Not worth knocking a star just because parking can sometimes be difficult.

My event was in 3 days so I assumed this would work. Wrong. By the second day more than half had withered and I removed them from the bouquet, and on the third day, only one was left that resembled a garden rose, so I returned them with the receipt, but the woman at the customer help counter told me they last up to 5 days - and they can wither by the third day, which they did. No replacement was offered. I was basically SOL. She was kind and of course she said she was sorry. So was I. Here is my recommendation - As beautiful as garden roses are, do not purchase them, unless you are fine with them possibly withering on the second day. They definitely do not last 7 days or fI've days, or even three.

They typically carry one of everything, but not necessarily a lot of variety. But that's ok! I love that all the people that work there are townies, and the cashiers are generally SSP Packer High School students. I'm grateful for Knowlans for being the place I can run to quickly for that last minute ingredient or item. However, Knowlan's is rarely a place I go to when I need to do my weekly grocery shopping. The lack of variety and hit-or-miss or hard to find produce usually drives me regrettably to Cub or Rainbow.

What is also outdated is the selection. The produce section is very small and the frozen/unhealthy foods sections are very large. The deli selection is also small and overpriced, in my opinion. I live close by, so have stopped in here on numerous occasions to pick up just one thing, and they often do not have it. Today, it was pita chips. Fucking pita chips. But they had plenty of Lay's Southern Biscuits and Gravy-flavored chips (GROSS). I would rather just wait until the weekend and go into downtown St. Paul to shop at the farmer's market. While customer service here is usually friendly, speed and efficiency are not their strong points. There will be one checkout open and three or four employees just milling around, even if the line is several people long. Sell more produce and less packaged, processed crap!
