Simple, honest, and exactly what it needed to be the Fried Bread Hut was one of those moments you don't overthink. We grabbed a couple different kinds, split them up, dressed them with whatever little garnishes they had, and just sat there taking it all in. I made a point to wander the village, soak it up, and burn it into memory--because it feels like the kind of place you might only see once. It was hot brutally hot the kind that wears you down. After a long days of hike, you would kill to have a hot meal and that's when you come to the Frybread hut in the middle of nowhere. It was totally opposite to the name it has and lived up to people's reviews. We tried to have the bread next to the cafe in the village. The lady running the hut was friendly and reminded me of my mother. That's how sweet she was. My order: Sweet bread - with Nutella, powdered sugar and bananas. Indian taco - with Tomatoes, lettuce, beans, & cheddar garnish It tasted heavenly since you starve for days camping and when you get a hot food it is the best. The ingredients were fresh and the bread was not too soggy nor crispy to the core. It was perfect. I was able to look into the kitchen. The process was straigh-forward. Make a circular bread dough from the dough on the table and put the bread dough into boiling oil and take it out when it was crisp and filter out the oil and add the ingredients and toppings.This is not just about the food, it is an experience. read more

We had permits from July 3rd-6th and were really looking forward to trying the famous fry bread at the hut--especially after hearing so much about it. Unfortunately, the staff never showed up during our stay. We made multiple attempts each day, but never got the chance to try it. Havasupai itself was incredible, but we were definitely disappointed to miss out on what's become a bit of a legendary treat. read more

After a long 10 mile hike, seeing this stand was definitely worth it. They sell their special Frybread with different toppings you can add, hot dogs, and beverages like soda, gatorade, and water. One thing that you will NEED to get is their Indian Taco w/ beef. It's like a big delicious open Crunchwrap Supreme (from Taco Bell) but better on a homemade frybread. It was sooo good! It was made fresh and you can eat this right in front of a nice river located at the back of the stand. Only thing is it's CASH ONLY so don't forget to bring cash on this backpacking trip. This was such a lifesaver after the ten mile hike in. I'd taken just about all of my first day to get to camp after recording random spots in the canyon. Once I got to the camp entrance I was craving some real food vs camping food I brought with me and a cold drink. The bean and cheese fry bread + a cold Powerade was worth every dollar spent. BE SURE to bring some cash for this one. The pin is not at all accurate, refer to the attached picture. The hut is right atop the downhill path of Havasupai falls. Be warned, the constant trekking through the mile long camping area will take it out of you and the locals make their own hours :) read more

After a good 10 mile hike this place is defiantly well deserved. Unfortunately for me on my visit they weren't open, I waited 3 days before they opened and served the hikers. On the day they opened you know I was the first one in line and I had to try it all lol Once I saw the workers setting up and starting to cook I waited in the area to make sure I get my spot in line. The staff was great and very friendly (so am I) we talked about one of the ladies (worker) daughter just had a baby and for that reason they closed for a few days. Once you order they give you a ticket and will call your number when it's ready. CASH make sure you have cash because that's all they accept and make sure you also have change, they don't have change and you will either have to buy more to spend more of allow them to keep it. Food was AMAZING! I was so blown away by this delicious fry bread and couldn't get enough. I did have a few scraps of left overs so I put it on the floor and allowed the stray dogs to enjoy! read more

CASH ONLY! Only one stand was opened and they only had the regular fry bread and chili cheese hotdog left on the menu in the late afternoon. My friend and I ordered one of each to share and try both. You can top your regular fry bread with your own choice of toppings. We topped our half with peanut butter and jelly and the other half with powdered sugar. Both were good but after a 10 mile hike, I enjoyed the chili cheese hotdog more. It definitely hit the spot. read more

Walked by this food stand around 1pm on the way to the camp area and sadly no one was there. When my friends and I came back from Mooney falls around 430pm we noticed people were walking back to their campsite with frybread. That got me pretty excited so we walked immediately towards the food stand which was only 1/2 mile towards the village. Upon arrival I was bummed to see there was only frybread and the chili dog left on the menu. I really wanted the taco frybread where they have beef, lecture, tomatoes and cheese. In the end I still got the plain frybread and I do not regard it at all. I slathered some peanut butter with a drizzle of honey and it was delicious. The frybread is like a fried pita bread but fluffy like a donut. It's a bit oily but after a 10 mile hike you don't give a shit. Definitely well worth it and it was on $8. There's a bunch of other condiments like jam you and put your with frybread but pb and honey was good enough for me. I wished they were open earlier instead of just in the afternoon but it is what it is. read more

Inbetween the falls and the ranger station isthe 'Frybread hut', It's open from 10 to 5ish. They have cold sodas, hotdogs and 'Indian tacos'. Basically its fried bread with canned beans, grated cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomatoes on top ($10). They also have fry bread with honey, strawberry, nutella or powdered sugar on it ($5). CASH ONLY. This place worked out nicely for us. It was the only easy way to get a cold drink and anything other than packaged food (without a 4 mile walk to the other stores). read more

This hut is a godsend after a 10 mile trek. They specialize in "Indian" taco, a generous portion of fry bread topped with beans, cheese and lettuce. It was amazing. Along side their fry breads, they serve all sorts of drinking like chocolate milk, a welcoming beverage as the area tends to get frigid at night. read more
