Their speed and price make this office a student's dream. Offering black & white, 8.5x11 prints for 8 cents is just hard to find. I ordered three 8.5x11 prints, being 2 in B&W and 1 in full color. It was ready the same day, which is great. When I brought them home, I realized that they had all been printed in B&W, against specified in the email. It took me almost a week to convince myself to contact them via email and ask for the correct full color print to replace the wrong one (I am very non-confrontational). Since I got no answer for a day, I called in and told my story to the manager Cindy. She didn't make a big deal out of it and just transferred me to Kelly and Marie, who were responsible for the previous printing job. Kelly then answered my email asking for the file again so they could print it in color. Once again, I was very specific in the email about size, paper type, color and binding. Kelly even emailed me to make sure which pages I wanted to have printed in color, which I considered very thoughtful, since printing pages that have no color - but are in the color printed batch - would be charged the same price. When Kelly emailed me saying that the printing was done on the same day, I was happy for their thoughtful service and promptness, and thought all problems were over. When I arrived at the store, I realized they had printed ONLY the pages in color, instead of the whole file. They also used a different weight paper than they did in the first printing job ( being a heavier kind now). When I questioned that the paper seemed heavier, Marie said that the laser paper with color printing was the same price compared to their cheapest paper type in color too. Then the bill came: ONE dollar per page. I paid... And when I called the printing store across the street, they told me they charged 49 cents for 8.5x11, full color prints, on their cheapest paper. So I figured there are 2 possible options: 1- Either Fryes believes their 8.5x11, full color, cheapest paper print is worth 2x more than their competitor, or 2- They doubled the price of my service because I asked them to correct a mistake they made, and therefore qualify as a "high maintenance"client. Either way, if you want to save energy and money printing 8.5x11, in FULL COLOR on the cheapest paper available, go to The Copy Corner across the street. Or you can go to Fryes, you will sure get it fast. But it'll be either in Black & White or you'll be charged 2x the market's price. read more

I am a graphic designer here in Napa and have used Fryes Printing exclusively since 1983. They are dedicated to pleasing their clients and have never failed to to make me look good to my clients. They are meticulous in their work and have even found mistakes I have made in my files - I really appreciate that they use their common sense and ask BEFORE they print. I will never again do business with Frye's Printing, Inc. in Napa, Ca. I have a skin care business and ordered labels for my products from them in 2016. I ordered the same labels again in Oct. of 2017. Shortly after placing the new labels on my product jars, I began to notice that the ink was rubbing off. I checked with my Marketing Manager and she too was having the ink rub off labels. After several emails with Marie at Frye's Printing, she told me that the ink was rubbing off because the labels require a laminate which was not applied. Why didn't she tell me that when I ordered the labels? I wouldn't know that without being told. I checked back on my invoice from the first order and saw that the price I paid for the same labels was considerably higher. It is obvious to me that the original order did include the laminate and that's why they cost more and I had no problem with the ink rubbing off of those. With all the discussion and knowing what my labels would be used for, Marie should have ordered my labels with the laminate just as she did the first time, but just didn't. I called another printer and was told that for my needs a laminate on the labels would definitely be necessary and any reputable and knowledgeable printer would know that. Rather than apologize for her own mistake of not ordering my labels with the laminate, Marie made excuses and refused to give me my money back or to re-make my labels with the laminate at no extra charge. All Marie did offer me was to get a price quote from the printer to place an entirely new order. So, it seems that the position of Frye's Printing is that if they make a mistake it's the customers fault and they will not make it right. Now, I still have to re-order labels but it will be from another printer. Cheating customers is not a good way to do business. read more

I have a consulting business and when I have jobs for Frye's they are BIG (around 6000 pages). I used to do all my own reprographics at Kinko's before I relocated to Napa 5 years ago. Now Frye's does ALL MY WORK. They are faster, the quality better, and it is LESS expensive than me doing it myself. Not to mention the time and headaches they have saved me!! I only wish they were open on weekends, since lots of times my clients don't get their documents to me until Friday and they absolutely have to be delivered on Monday. Then I am left reacquainting myself with the idiosyncrasies of Kinko's machines. read more
