On the date of the incident, I visited this business to send a standard document envelope from Napa, California to Santa Monica, California. Instead, I was informed of the following: That USPS tracking was not available for my shipment; That I was required to use FedEx tracking instead; That the cost to ship a standard envelope would be $47. Based on my prior experience using independent mail centers in Benicia and Glen Cove, similar shipments typically cost approximately $5-$13 and include tracking as part of the service. This used to be my favorite store for shipping needs but I'll never come back. I shipped a return of an Apple product back to Apple from this store. They didn't provide me with any receipt of the package being dropped off, and when I asked they said they do not offer receipts. This was a red flag for me, in addition to the rude demeanor of the woman helping me, but I left the package anyway. I looked back after I'd walked out and noticed the package was still sitting on the counter in front of her where she had scanned it instead of placing it with the other outgoing packages. Strange, I thought. A week or so later, Apple called me saying the returned package was empty. I can't say with 100% certainty if the cold woman helping me is responsible for stealing the contents of the package, but it seems likely, and how convenient for them that they don't provide receipts. Great staff! I needed to get my fingerprints done on a time crunch, and the website my university required didn't allow same-day appointment scheduling. I called in to see if there was anything they could do about scheduling and the woman who took my call was able to do some scheduling work-arounds so I could come in and get my prints done right away! Before visiting Napa I checked out different shipping places online to ship our wine back home to Massachusetts. All American seemed to have reasonable prices and decent reviews. It was fairly close to our hotel, so I stopped in one day to get the lowdown on how to ship. They said they could pick it up at our hotel, just let them know. I wanted paperwork confirming my shipment and someone to look it over so decided to bring the wine in to ship. I picked up a form on my first visit. We had some of the wineries ship direct, but had a case worth of wine to ship. The ladies I spoke to here were very nice and helpful, and the day we brought the wine in, they had us place it in the shipper box and explained it would be picked up the following week by a third party shipper and trucked to a state that allows shipments to a regional center in a state that allows shipments to Massachusetts. UPS would then get it, email me a tracking number and it would be delivered to me. We insured the wines and the cost for shipping the case was $103. The day after they told me it would be picked up from them, I received an email letting me know it was on its way, in a temperature controlled truck, to a temperature controlled facility. A few days after that I received an email with a UPS tracking number that let me know it was in New Jersey. The next day it arrived here. I have no complaints and would definitely use them again. read more

We recently visited Napa for a tasting tour of 25 wineries. From past experience with traveling out of state when wine tasting, we knew shipping our wine was a consideration. We did some research and called All American a month ahead of time, we were pleasantly surprised when they said they would pick up our wine from our hotel the day of our check-out. WOW!!!!! They pick up at no additional cost since we were in Napa. Now that's a great service. The gal I talked to was very kind and said they will take care of it, no worries. No need to list the wine, just leave at front desk of hotel. Just call to arrange. (So okay I procrastinated and called the night before as I forgot to call earlier that day. But it was no problem. But don't recommend procrastinating) For fellow wine tasters, this is a great service as usually we have to wrap up wine tasting early the day before we depart so we have time to get all our wine boxed up and drive it over to the shipper. Not this time. We had 4 cases of wine and with a quick call to All American the day before we arranged for our wine to be picked up the next morning. We were staying at the Springhill Suites by Marriott in Napa. The staff there gave us a luggage cart and kept our wine in the back, ready for All American to pick it up early in morning. The only negative is I would have loved to have gotten a confirmation pick-up Email as soon as All American took possession of the wine, but figured the Springhill Suites would have called us if the wine wasn't picked up. When I shipped my wine off the ladies explained that it would need to sit in a warehouse over the weekend and since Napa was having extremely hot weather that weekend she suggested I ship it by a 3rd party vendor so it could sit in a refrigerated storage. The price was the same however, the 3rd party vendor added days on to our shipment. However, it worked out perfectly it took 2 weeks for me to get my box of wine. But that was perfect because I had only been home for 1 week from Cali trip, since I went to visit the bay area after Napa. Will be using this mail center again when I visit Napa/Sonoma. read more

Rude, abrupt service. One star is for the convenience and no line. As for service, if I want to be treated rudely, I'll just go to the Post Office. I needed to mail a package and buy stamps, 3 days before Christmas, so didn't want to fight the crowds. Before even saying hello to me, I was told to just drop the package in the bin. When I told her I needed to get postage for it to mail it, she told me I had to fill the form out. I figured this was not the case since I used to work for a similar mail and packaging company, but decided to humor the rude employee. After filling out the form, I patiently waited until she finished up and took the form from me. The next thing she said to me is, "For next day air, this is $39.95." This is again without saying hi or asking me anything. Once I told her I just wanted to send it US Mail, she said, "Oh. Then you didn't need this form." Long story short, even though I know these mail centers charge more than the post office, I was willing to pay more for the convenience and service. However, I will NOT be going here again, and will use the post office or the UPS Store. read more
