My experience today at the UPS store in Napa was perhaps the most appalling customer service experience in my life. I was previously treated unprofessionally by one of the employees when dropping off a UPS shipment. Again today, the same employee spoke to me in a disrespectful and condescending manner as I was dropping the packages for pickup by UPS. I am a 65 year old man and the employee is probably in his mid 20s. Inappropriate for any employee who is supposed to be representing the UPS brand to order a much older person to do something without a please. I looked at him, incredulous that he would behave so impolitely. He maintained his hostile stare so I reminded him that I was a customer, not someone who worked for him. It was at this time that the second employee, a statuesque black woman probably in her late 30s got involved. She said loudly "it' always the same s**t with you. Those packages aren't going out today. You can take them somewhere else." I again stared, incredulous. Things escalated with her telling me to "get the f**k out, bitch" and my telling her that she was a rude cow. She even advanced toward me to suggest that she was going to assault me. I took my packages back to my van and to the UPS store at the north side of town where I dropped them (in a very busy waiting area without incident.) I also took photos of both employees. Tomorrow I will be looking into who owns that UPS franchise and contacting that person as well as filing a complaint with the UPS customer care and lodging a complaint about Store #4516. Stay away if you have any sense. The inmates are running the asylum. read more

I am giving them five stars because the two younger guys behind the counter had excellent customer service. DH and I went in there to ship some stuff that we bought at Walmart and Trader Joe's back home to San Diego. We were house hunting for 10 days, and the place we were staying at didn't have pots big enough to cook rice or pasta, so I bought one at Walmart. It was a little pricey to ship this stuff home, but it was so worth it, since I didn't want to leave a brand-new stainless steel pot at an Airbnb. They were really friendly and helpful, helped me with my shipping request, and we were in and out of there in under 30 minutes. When we move up, I will likely use their services again. Picked up a wine shipment at the store because a signature was required. I received a text that the shipment had arrived. When I arrived to pickup, I was charged $10 because they received the shipment. The shipment was in their possession a half hour and charged me $10 No advance notice of a charge. Fed- ex charges nothing!!! Outrageous. read more

I would give this rating a minus 5 if I could! Avoid this UPS Store! Totally incompetent staff and unresponsive ownership. I dropped off a prepaid, extremely urgent, overnight envelope while the afternoon UPS driver was there behind the counter talking with the store employee. Upon receiving a call from my recipient on the east coast the following day looking for the envelope, I learned from the Napa UPS Hub that the driver left 15 minutes after I dropped off the envelope without the envelope. The next day, the package was still in the store, in the out basket, only to be picked up at 4:00 pm, causing a major problem with my attorney, the intended recipient. I reached out to Ajit, the owner of the store, who responded by asking for the tracking number, but did not follow up any further. It is a mystery how businesses like this remain open. read more

I dropped off an Amazon return and it was very easy to do so. There is 2 hr parking spots outside and the place was clean and spacious. The service was fast and efficient. This is the worst shipping/printing store I've ever been to. I recently did a Amazon return there. They lost it. Amazon had to get involved to get my money back. I just went yesterday. I ordered online everything appeared to be very organized with the website. It said my printing would be done the next day at 2:30 PM I went in there at 4:30 PM and the guy says that the online printing services down and he can't do anything for me. There was nothing on the website saying it was down. I got no email saying my order wasn't ready. It was horrible. After attempting to return a Amazon package and experiencing your attempt to monetize a return I went one further and walked into another UPS location and had them weigh it, tape it, hand me a receipt and say "thank you". DON'T go to this store! They completely rob you of shipping cost. And Heron the employee there is a complete liar. She pretends she's helping you and then doesn't follow up on refunds or claims after they lost my package I paid $90 to ship. If they put you on hold they won't come back FYI. She then tells me to call the UPS hub because she was too lazy to deal with the issue. UPS Hub says all claims go through the shipper. Talk about horrible customer service! This is an update to the owners response that a 6 inch piece of tape is costing his business even though he claims he updated his policies. Over a year ago this store charged me $3.99 for a 6 inch piece of tape for an Amazon return and my package was over 40 pounds and I already lugged it into the store from my car and did not want to lug it back. I had to use a dolly to get it into the store which the clerk saw me do. A 6 inch piece of tape costs like 3 cents and the labor like a 50 cents if it takes him a whole minute to put a piece of tape on which I can do in less than 10 seconds. That still doesn't justify the enormous profit of a 6 inch piece of tape. A whole roll of tape costs 7 dollars. Show the breakdown on how a 6 inch piece of tape negatively affects your business even with the all the overhead. This is not the only review that complained about this. They still get paid from Amazon. But since then I take my Amazon returns to Whole Foods and Kohl's because I am welcomed and don't feel ripped off as a customer and that's how I felt about my experience at the UPS store for this return and that is what matters. This business should be concerned about their policies and how it makes customers feel about their experience. This updated review is in response to your claim that a 6 inch piece of packing tape is costing this business and that it needs to charge to cover overhead over a year ago when your business took advantage of my situation. If you stopped charging then I guess you learned your lesson but that still doesn't make up for how your business negatively affected my UPS experience for a $3.99 6 inch piece of tape because of your advantageous policy at that time. This UPS Store is my first choice when I need to ship anything. They're knowledgeable, friendly, conveniently located, and always give me multiple shipping options so I know that I'm getting the best rate. I go to this location probably once a week. Last week, I was witness to an unreasonable customer who despite having the rules explained to him multiple times, was still quite rude to the employees. I sent a package to a business prospect that I paid $130 to have arrive in 2 days. The package did not arrive until a day later (after my meeting). In looking up the tracking history, my package did not even leave my state until 2 days later. I called the store and they abruptly advised they don't guarantee any 2 day deliveries. Why was this not represented to me and why did I pay an increased amount to have it delivered in 2 days? I called corporate and they washed their hands of it saying the issue is with the store. I sent in my employee to ship a package. He told me that 3 people were working and very distracted with a R.C. Car they had. They ended up shipping the box to me instead of where it was supposed to go. I called back the next day and asked for a refund. They gave me to the manager and it proceeded to go downhill from there. I said maybe who ever helped was distracted as my employee stated they were playing with RC cars. The manager wanted to make sure I knew my employee is a liar because he wasn't playing with the toy car he was "inspecting" it. I said that's okay I really don't care I just want a refund. He said he won't help me because I was rude. I felt like I was being pretty nice but My guess is he got pretty defensive since he was playing with toys at work. I had been using GLS, but after numerous late deliveries, including a one month MIA experience, I tried the downtown Napa UPS store. The first time was ok, but the next two were handled by a young man named Dan, who combines disrespect, indifference , incompetence and rude manners into one all inclusive package. Special thanks to THIS UPS location, which is conveniently located in downtown Napa, for having a Notary actually available on-site! I had driven to the other location on the other side of town only to find out (for the 2nd time in several months) that the Notary was not in. It's super frustrating to not be able to rely on a place to provide the services they advertise during regular business hours, thus, I was extremely happy that Ryan (the Notary) was there and helpful! He greeted me as soon as I walked in, got right to business with the notary stuff, and had me on my way in less than 5 min. There is convenient 24 min parking right outside the store, so I was literally in and out of there in no time and it was a breeze! This looks to be a smaller location, but has many of the services and a limited assortment of supplies one would expect at UPS. read more

Very bizarre. I brought a very light clothing item ( visor) and placed it in a bubble envelope to mail to Minnesota. They told me it would be $14.80 and the postal rate would be the same. This was literally a large envelope which weighed 10 ounces. I took it to the post office and it was $1.80. I've never had this experience at any other UPS store.
