One clerk in particular I called on the phone and her name is (McKenna) and I told her I wanted the old farmers almanac 2025 box calendar. When I got there, she had three different ones and I picked the one that I wanted. I posted a picture of it. The store is awesome and I always meet interesting people as I just did now, I met an artist that specializes in a number of things, but when I said cats, she gave me her card because she does portraits of pets. I am going to be doing business with her get yourself over the Books A Million, a.k.a. BAM and enjoy a cup of coffee and buy a book or read a book plenty of room to do that and meet interesting people.

We spent time perusing the stacks, where he found just what he was looking for and I rekindled my love for Mercedes Lackey and her fantasy series. I love the way a bookstore smells and BAM is no different. One thing that they have above the other retail sellers? They take used books, including school books. YES! They're a new and used seller, how's that? They also have a huge selection of comics and the like.

Not only is this place cool they have serious history in there on those shelves. They have books from the early 1900s, 1800's and I think late 1700s too if I'm not mistaken. Information regarding pricing or what was in stock was impossible to find so I had to go and check it out first hand. I was greeted upon immediately walking in. This place is way bigger than I thought it would be. I started browsing the book shelves that were in front and worked my way back towards the store. I only looked through the fiction section but noticed a huge selection of other genres like Sci Fi and Adult Romance. There was also a children's section in the back. Walking towards the front of the store, there were shelves with DVDs as well. In the middle of the store, there's a little lounge section with comfortable chairs and tables to read at. I was carrying several books so I decided to grab a shopping basket. They have the cool ones that have wheels and suitcase like handles. I finally made my way to the register and chatted with the employee. She asked if I found everything i was looking for, to which I did not. She offered to look up titles I wanted and even though they did not have any in the store, she offered to put my information in the system if those books do show up. I purchased 6 books and paid almost $20. Not horrible but I thought for sure it would be cheaper. They have a buy back program, where you receive store credits but I forgot to inquire about the details. Of course I will be back!

It's 100% volunteer, so make sure you call ahead or head there early, just in case they're not fully staffed. I have purchased a book a couple times that I needed to exchange or simply return. When I return, I am fine with a gift card VS cash back. After the 1st of the year 2026 I shopped a sizable number of books for upcoming birthdays for my young nieces and nephews. At this time, I also purchased a Calendar/datebook in the form of a book, as I always do year to year so that I have room to make notes for upcoming events, appointments, etc. This year 2026 I purchased later than normal as I typically purchase this for just myself. So, as you enter the parking lot side of the store, straight ahead as a " turn style" type of stand that had the kind of Calendar Books I always purchase. I looked at the design covers and chose one suitable to my hobby as an "avid bird, butterfly, etc" . When I got home, I opened the Calendar and it began in the middle of July. Needless to say this did not suit my needs, so, being a regular customer annually for gift giving, I simply wanted to exchange it for one that reflected the entire year of 2026. The fairly young woman at the checkout desk near the door was very quick to tell me we "cannot exchange" as she went on o say that ALL these Calendar books start in July. That if I wanted one to start in January, I needed to purchase one in 2025. Needless to say, I found this to be absurd. Nevertheless, I asked for a "store credit" since I frequently shopped there, NOTE: I would have just re-spent the credit on some something else while I was there. This girl/young woman refuse ALL options and said there was nothing that could be done about this. *So, here we are mid-July, and I now could of or can use the earlier purchased Calendar. Bottom line is, I purchased another one that suited what I needed and have just left the one from Books A Million set aside. I believe that this young woman had no idea of how to handle a simple transaction, exchange or credit, thus, losing a faithful yearly customer. My advice to shoppers is BE CAUTIOUS, their rules, their regulations can change at the drop of a hat and there was not 1 single suggestion of "I'm sorry", no empathy, no nothing. **I have not shopped in Books A Million at Lake Square Mall, Leesburg, FL ever again.
