The worst wonton soup I've ever had! Tasted like water with zero flavor; very puzzling for a dine-in lunch experience. The wontons were much smaller in comparison to other Chinese places in the area, even though I did receive four in my lunch portion. The lunch special chicken and broccoli order that I received had more white rice than the actual entrée. The sauce was sparse, but the chicken and broccoli were at least edible. The whole meal came out to $9.50, which was pretty staggering if you take into the account the overall portion and value. I was talking to another patron before I sat down and she was leaving, and she didn't have anything great to say about her own lunch experience. Chinese take out on a night I feel too lazy to cook, ugh! Tonight is one of those nights, I come here mostly for hot sour soups and their lo meins, since my daughter is a noodle fiend. The soup is made to order unlike other places that scoops it out from a pot sitting on top of a warmer all day long. Tons of chunky ingredients which you can distinguish what's actually inside. I also recommend chicken in garlic sauce, garlic shrimp, and house special fried rice. Don't have alot of seating, only 2 tables for 4. Big portions for cheap! This place is probably my favorite Chinese takeout spot. I've ordered from here endless amount of times and their delivery is always quick and attentive. All of their food has great flavor without being too oily or salty. Often times I go to takeout spots that have their food drowned in sauce but not here! I usually get their beef and broccoli or beef with eggplant in spicy garlic sauce and I usually order it with pork fried rice or spicy lo mein. Don't hesitate to try their fried chicken wings either. This is my go to takeout place. The lady who answers the phone is really nice and definitely understandable over the phone. The food is good and the price is pretty decent; since I usually call during lunch special hours. Their pan fried dumplings are a must. Those are so good and the sauce, I'm guessing vinegar, that comes with it goes perfectly with the dumplings. Minus one star as they recently added some other non fast food dishes like pad thai and walnut shrimp that I ordered and know I should not have but one stop shop was hard to resist. Solid 4.5 stars. This is the best Chinese takeout spot this side of Bay Ridge. Their food is flavorful without being too greasy. So my diet has been an epic fail and one of my biggest guilty pleasures is... take out Chinese food... I was on my way home from work and I actually saw this place and decided to look it up on yelp! I've tried almost every take-out place within a 5 mile diameter from my house. Fu Lai Kitchen definitely has to have made my top 3 in terms of take out. My wife argues that "doesn't all take out taste the same!?" -- this is hearsay! Their food was without a doubt 5/5 compared to other chinese restaurants! The price was solid and on point as well. I ordered the chicken in garlic sauce as recommended by fellow yelpers and general tso's chicken over vegetable fried rice. I substituted the egg drop soup for the egg rolls (no charge, other places charge extra). The food came within 25 minutes and came out to be around $15. They also threw in 2 sodas on the side (which we didn't ask for, but hey FREE we'll take it!) The food definitely tasted clean(er) than a lot of other places, didn't get a sense that it was loaded with MSG and salt. If take out is your thing, this place is not one to miss when browsing your menus! read more

In the endless struggle for quality Chinese Lunch delivery in our area, we ate here today. It was interesting in that the problems were completely different than the other places nearby. We chose this place despite the few reviews because it's been mentioned on Yelp or Google that the food is clean. This is a huge deal to us because our favorite local places stopped serving fresh food. We couldn't stand eating another piece of fermented broccoli or off-chicken, and began this quest. Shouldn't be hard to find a good Chinese delivery place in Brooklyn's second Chinatown, right? Order-taking over the phone went exceptionally well. She asked if I wanted the tofu steamed or fried, which pleases me. My total was $14.85, and she agreed that they'd call me upon arrival so I could come outside. (We don't live on the main floor). I stared at the phone with my $20 bill and waited. Nobody called. I saw a guy with his motorcycle helmet on come into our yard. I pulled the door open. "$19.05" He told me. I gave him the 20. I apologized for not having more, and explained that I only had $20 but had been told it was $14.85 on the phone. He muttered something and left. Oops. Why was it more than I was quoted? It looks like it should have been $16.00, but there was an upcharge for hot and sour soup that wasn't told to me. They also charge tax. If I'd known, I would have ordered less so I had more than 95 cents tip money. Sorry. We unpacked the food. All utensils were included. With Hot and sour soup, there seem to be two kinds: the dark thick broth kind with tofu in it and sliced woodear mushrooms, with or without pork in it. That's the kind we like. There's also a lighter kind that is technically both sour and hot and is called hot and sour soup, but is basically egg drop because it's mainly egg ribbons in a cornstarch broth. This was the dark broth kind, a little lighter than usual but good flavor, with crumbling french-fry chunks of a firm tofu, meat, and button mushrooms instead of woodear. Strange, but good. The lunch portions were packed. High quality rice. The vegetables and tofu was the bland kind where the chunks are large, and no flavor is added. I don't get why this dish often has white cabbage slices larger than the human tongue. But the ingredients were fresh, so I dumped a few gallons of soy sauce on it and continued. The chicken with garlic sauce was nothing like a regular garlic sauce chicken. It was a stirfry with large chunks, none of it shredded, it what did not appear to be a regular garlic sauce. My bf said it was not good. The beef with string bean looked absolutely beautiful. He took one bite of it and said it was terrible. I tasted it. The beans hadn't fully cooked through, and somebody left out the salt. It was a major bummer. I ate all of my dish, but since both of his were deemed to bland to eat, we probably won't order here again. I'm torn, though, because the ingredients really were fresh. Edit: I dropped the rating from 3 to 2 when I saw that the BF only ate 2 - 3 bites of his meal. It must have been really really bad. read more

This is by far my most favorite place to get Chinese food. The people there are so nice and have never made a mistake in my order. (I'm a picky eater I make modifications) As for the food I recommend general tsos chicken. It's so good and if you come in during lunch you can get a pretty large portion with rice and a soda for about $6. read more
