It is a chaotic mess for the volume they are trying to do. It's not about adding more manpower, it's about streamlining. Tables are sitting empty while people are on the waitlist (not due to reservations), orders are going to the wrong tables, to-go orders are in disarray and have to be re-verified on multiple orders, and it takes a long time to get some water. The Yelp waitlist is useless here - wait was supposed to be 5-10 minutes and it turned into almost 40. All this could have been avoided with more planning, better organization, and training. Great tasting din soup dumplings! I came around lunch and it was busy. Luckily the turn around time for a table isn't a long wait. Their menu is pretty unique. I tried the wontons in spicy peanut sauce. It was different because I'm use to chili wontons. The spicy peanut sauce wasn't spicy. The peanut sauce itself is pretty thick, so I would recommend dipping it in the accompanying dipping sauce to balance the flavors. I would try the spicy peanut wontons again. They provide a house sauce for dipping, make sure to ask for one small plate per person because it's so garlicky and good! Dumplings were what brought us in and though they weren't the best dumplings I've had (and I've had my fair share), they're definitely passable. Scallion pancakes were better with each bite. Mushroom bao buns were a pleasant surprise! Artistically they look great, looked to mimic like a wild mushroom but inside was sweet and juicy, the bun itself was fluffy. The chicken stir fry was the star of the show for me. We had ordered this as a table filler, but we kept going back to it between bites. We ordered two servings of the pork soup dumplings, and our whole family of five agreed they were fantastic--the broth was flavorful, the dough had the perfect thickness, and each dumpling was truly delightful. We also tried the Din Special Stir-Fry Noodles, the Chicken Stir-Fry Noodles, and the Peanut Thai Noodles. The veggie dumplings and buns are great too. The service is quick, and you have the option to order from a QR code at the table. They bring the order out as it is ready. This place rocks. I've had Din Tai Fung soup dumplings, and trust me, these are better.

My family has a Lunar New Year celebration every year, and certain cousins have been bringing Din's dumplings there for years. So this wasn't my first experience with them, but it was my first experience dining in. And it's hard to be sad when you walk in and there's an animatronic noodle pull happening in the front window. There's nothing to be sad about at Din Soup Dumplings anyway. It's clean, and bright, and the dude running things is super nice. He was attentive, joking around with tables, and generally keeping things on track. I've had many a Chinese food experience with borderline abusive service, so this was a nice change of pace. Luckily, the food is outstanding as well. We shared soup dumplings (classic pork xiao long bao) which are in the name of the shop for a reason. They are top notch, and I love that they offer two types of dumpling sauce...the super garlicky option is a winner for sure. My other favorite dish here is the scallion pancake wrap with beef. This just speaks to me on all levels, and with the hoisin, reminds me of the peking duck dinners of childhood. Delicious. We also added a variety of other dumplings (shumai, sticky rice, har gow, etc.) and a plain rice roll. All very tasty, but I think I'd skip the rice roll if I was coming. back.
