    蒜泥白肉/ Pork With Garlic Sauce
    Fennie W.

The food here was so good. If you're looking for something spicy, this will give you that for sure. My friends and I ordered the pork with garlic sauce, mapo tofu, and green pepper fish dishes. The pork with garlic sauce was absolutely delicious. This one isn't spicy so it didn't numb the mouth. The mapo tofu was also delicious and a little spicier but still not numbing the mouth. Def better to have it with rice though. The green pepper fish was mouth numbing and honestly I couldn't taste much of the flavor because the combination of spice and the hot temperature of the food was overbearing for me. So if you're like me and can tolerate some spicy but not numbing spicy then I would recommend telling them less spicy. Portions were perfect for 5 people (3 males and 2 females) as we ordered 2 of the pork with garlic sauce, 2 mapo tofus, and 1 big green pepper fish dish. We went on a Saturday at 5:30pm so it wasn't too crowded. Overall delicious and the staff were all friendly and very attentive in filling up our water for our spicy meal. (mapo tofu not shown as we were too hungry)

A great meal with excellent service. First off, the staff is super efficient and attentive. They were slammed on a Saturday but the staff was hard at work flying around. Offered suggestions when we were ordering, constantly refilling our water, and adding dishes or removing plates to create room. They even help serve the family style entrees when it arrives. Everything was delicious from the creamy, umami silken tofu with shrimp topped with salted egg yolk. It was rich and decadent and delicate all at once. The fish fillet dry pot was huge and more than enough for 3-4 to share. The sliced cold beef dish was surprisingly refreshing compared to the heat of the hot dishes. I didn't get a picture but the stir fry cabbage was delish. Perfect if you are a vegetarian.

We came as a group of 6 for dinner and wanted to try this place. We ordered quite a lot of food and they were all delicious! I think this place is good for those who can handle spice, but there are dishes that are non spicy. I would definitely come back here again some other day!

Very large portions. Would def come with friends. Boiled fish was good, spicy, and numbing. Make sure you know how to eat fish with bones. Loved the green beans. Staff was nice and gave recs about the menu

Everything was delicious. Great place for large groups too. Came in for a group of 8 on saturday lunch and was immediately seated. The only dish I did not like was the fish dry pot which had very crunchy, cartilage type fish - which is not my personal favorite. I also prefer regular mapo tofu over the egg one but it was good for try.

Food here is amazing. Full of flavor and portions are good for sharing and pairs so well with rice! My favorite was definitely the mala duck blood and the chongqing sour fish! Spice level is definitely there so be prepared with glasses of water! The spicy cold noodles with cucumber were also really good, one of the best I've had in a restaurant!

Great casual place to stop by for spicy food. This restaurant can get really busy so make sure you make a reservation as they only have a handful of tables upstairs and downstairs. We had the Dan Dan noodles, chengdu spicy wonton, hot spicy fish, and the water cooked spicy beef. The fish was nicely fried and tossed with some vegetables. The beef was really spicy and flavorful, and the portion was nicely sized. We asked for less spicy and I was shocked by how spicy the dishes were still! The Dan Dan was standard and the wontons could have used more sauce and less chili oil. Service was great and staff were great with filling the water. If you check in on Yelp you get a free dessert, a cold jelly with some nuts, seeds and raisins. It had a little medicinal taste to me, but my parents enjoyed it.

It was a very bad experience. two of which were very bad and very salty.they didn't redo it or change the dishes for us. When I arrived, I bought a single discount. I didn't eat two dishes for 100 dollars.

Mala Hot Spicy Pot Mapo Tofu Sweet and Sour Pineapple Chicken Lung Slice Dry Mix Cumin Lamb
    Amy L.

Service was attentive and the staff was wonderful! However, everything that we ordered was wayyyyy too salty except the sweet and sour chicken in a pineapple. The mala pot was way saltier than I've had in other places. The cold beef and tendon dish was also on the saltier side. The cumin lamb was pretty good but hard to taste after eating the mala pot. The mapo tofu was mid. Basically, things were so salty that you had to eat a lot of rice with it or drink a lot of fluids with it. At the end you are stuffed but not in a good satisfying way. People with high blood pressure, stay far away! That being said, even healthy people should not be eating this salty! Reply to owner: Thanks for the reply! Hopefully the food will be less salty the next time I visit as I do like being able to enjoy my food. If not, I'll make sure to let the staff know and to remake. The good thing is that I have leftovers for a week now! The flavor of each dish is so bold that I can only eat a little bit of it at a time with a lot of rice and bland vegetables.

One of the tastiest Chinese I've ever had in New York. We had a private room walk-in downstairs for a group of 9 Sunday around 5. Every dish was delicious and tasted different from each other. We started with hand-pulled dumplings. Then Mala cold noodles, recommended in the review on their door. Sour fish soup - also had glass noodles. Chicken with red peppers. King pap chicken. Mushrooms. Greens. MaPo Tofu - had an orangey flavor. Cucumber was also delicious. Not one bad dish. Over $100 bill, you get a free sake.

came back after a couple years, the food at this place is still outstanding. they have very big menu with a lot of selections, very authentic Sichuan cuisine. the spicy lamb shank is a bomb, super flavorful with two shanks fulled apart. the spicy pot fish is just alright, wish there are more fish in the pot. Service was great and the price is decent compares to the city.

Have been here many times with friends and family. Great place for a group dinner with reasonable prices and good portions. Some of my faves are the sour beef soup, griddle cabbage, and salted egg yolk tofu. Service is quick and the food comes pretty fast. If you check in on yelp, you get a free bing fen. The waiters are super nice and often give us extra portions of the bing fen.

Any non spicy/less spicy dishes to recommend?

Does the number work? Called many times no one answered.

The work number is 929-295-0128, if it doesn’t work maybe it’s because the line is busy or you can try calling 347-675-9524.

Does this place offer the dish boiled beef?

Are you talking about the 水煮牛肉? They do have it for the fish here, as for beef the only item I saw as their "Hot Spicy Beef pot" It's a dry-hot pot with thin beef slices.

I next just got a regular lychee martini, which was much less sweet & a perfect drink #2 - we started with the pork dumplings which had such a complex sauce. it looked like a basic chili oil but there was a tangy vinegar and a sweet aftertaste that balanced out the numbing spice. the dough was so chewy & thick, I loved. - the cold eggplant was very garlic forward & naturally ofc coated in spice. it's a large serving of the same vegetable but we ate every piece - we split the tofu & fish entree. this was insane, the same base and consistency as mapo tofu. incredibly rich and flavorful with light large chunks of silken tofu & battered fried soft fish. the fish absorbed so much of the sauce, which honestly I was eating by the spoonful.

Though I was surprised that the vibe of the restaurant itself seemed very curated in a way that's emblematic of the the way in which Williamsburg more broadly continues to move towards this clean/green/minimalistic aesthetic (which is enjoyable but uniform), it was still a great time filled with fun cocktails a nice variety of food. We came here at 8:30 on a Saturday night. Though it was relatively easy to book a reservation for a part of four here, it was pretty full and lively when we arrived. The space itself is quite big, with an expansive dining room full of big tables for larger parties. As I mentioned, the decor had the whole clean/green vibe that retail and restaurants alike are leaning into these days, though interestingly on the perimeter there were some fun little antique items like very old wooden furniture or saloon-esque pianos. As a party of four we were sat at a round table in one of these perimeter spaces which gave us a nice vantage point. I had heard that the cocktails here were not to be missed and I can see why. They're creative, thoughtful, and organized on the menu such that you can get a sense of the flavor profile before ordering (relative sweetness/sourness/strength) before ordering. I started with the Truemartini (Truman Vodka, Gin, Osmanthus, Fontbonne, Rockeys, Dry Vermouth, Blue Cheese Olive) which I absolutely loved. I suppose it gives dirty martini because of the blue cheese olive but it's far more complex and herbaceous than your typical martini so it's honestly in its own category. I then got the Hanami Drop (Citadelle Gin, Ovo Vodka, Jasmine, Rockey's Umeshu, Lime) which was good but because I wasn't really in the mood for a gimlet it did not hit in the way I had hoped but that is ultimately my fault and not theirs. Food-wise, there is a lot to choose from, which makes deliberation quite difficult. At least from what we ordered, it seems that the apps are smallest, the veggie/rice sides are in the middle, and not surprisingly the entrees are quite a bit bigger (and filling). Eats, below: Wood Ear Mushroom Salad (Poached and mixed with chili and lemon sauce): A Far and away the best veggie we got. The texture was perfection and the preparation itself was relatively simple in a way that really let the mushrooms sing. Cucumber Salad (Tossed in scallion & ginger sauce, sesame oil): B+ Really nice flavors, just felt the texture was very very slightly bordering on slimy (I think it was because of the way the sauce interacted with the natural wateriness of the cucumber) which I hesitate to say because I don't it to fully turn anyone off but I can't think of a more fitting way to describe it. Kung Pao Chicken (Peanuts, chili pepper and peppercorn): A Savory and delicious, didn't have all that much of this because the prawns really drew me in but this is a no-brainer and a crowd pleasure. Tea Smoked Duck (Bone-in smoked duck, hoisin sauce): A- Solid execution, nothing too memorable but still very good and a decent portion. Fei - Hong Spicy Prawn (Tiger Prawn, crispy pepper, peanut): A As I mentioned, this dish had my heart. Something about the combination of the prawn, sauce, and crispy pepper just made it feel like a texture and spice party that I absolutely loved. Glazed Eggplant: B+ Flavors were there, would've liked if there was a little more crispiness. It's a sizable portion -- significantly bigger than the cucumber and mushrooms salads (which are in the apps rather than the sides section) so keep that in mind when ordering.
