Most people get put under anesthesia for wisdom teeth removal but Dr. Lee felt best to keep me awake and ensured that the procedure would go well. In 2016 I removed 4 wisdom teeth as it was time to remove them, Dr. Lee was very good he made sure I had enough numbing injection and took great care of me during my procedure. I haven't had any issues since the removal and I am glad that I went here to get my wisdoms removed. I am glad that I was awake it made me brave and now I don't have to fear other dental work. read more

All the receptionists had attitude, my mom had a question and they started giving her attitude like she was suppose to know the information already. The first lady short brown hair kept being rude and not explaining clearly saying they don't accept our insurance although we had another insurace we wanted to ask about then she handed us off to another lady because she was tired of us. NOW this lady with white hair YELLED AT US. Straight up. We wanted to ask if our other insurance covered my appointment today and she kept saying our insurance is good but we have to pay she kept saying we have to pay, then she said she can't check if our insurance covers the appointment until we pay first seems shady. Her exact words were " NO WAY! NO WAY! I AM NOT GOING TO CHECK ANYTHING FOR YOU! NO WAY!" My mother has an accent when she speaks English so she pointed over to me and with an attitude said "you speak English right?" I ignored her racist comment. She saw that i was mad and was about to say something so she calmed down and started to act fake nice after she completely took out her anger on us. Then we tried asking the last lady and she said also with an attitude "so what are you trying to ask me" it was so uncomfortable to be there any longer so we just left. Dr.Lee was fantastic; he was friendly and honest about his suggestions regarding when and how to get my wisdom teeth removed. The procedure itself went well; he and his assistants communicated constantly. Afterwards, I had all the medication that I needed to diminish the pain. The people working at the front desk were friendly in-person. I highly recommend Carmen in particular; she was very helpful and clear. However, on the phone, they tended to speak more curtly and sometimes lacked communication between themselves. I would recommend this place. Right from the get-go, this office gets their customer service right. They were able to schedule me for a SAME day consultation and an extraction the week after. Their efficiency was much appreciated. I found their staff to be a hit or miss. Cindy, the office manager, was funny and charismatic. I "suffer" from white coat syndrome where I will fail my first blood pressure measurement without doubt...so instead of just telling me to relax, she took about 10 minutes to just talk to me about school, growing up in San Francisco, etc. The dental assistants, on the other hand, were a little terse/awkward. As for the surgeon, Dr. Lee is incredibly skilled. Opting for just local anesthesia, he was still able to make the entire procedure painless - all I felt was some heavy pressure. He even allows you to listen to your own music during the procedure to keep you relaxed. After the procedure, Dr. Lee was very detailed about the aftercare. He even took the time to call later in the afternoon to make sure everything was okay. They also schedule follow-up appointments a week and a month after the surgery to check and double check. I also appreciated the fact that they make you pick up the prescribed antibiotics and pain meds before the surgery. Though it seemed inconvenient at the time, this proved to be integral in getting me straight to rest post surgery instead of waiting in line at a pharmacy. Everyone will probably react differently to the surgery, but aside from some pain and soreness at the extraction points, I suffered no bruising or swelling....which was great! read more

Dr. Fujimoto did my wisdom teeth check-ups and was extremely friendly and helpful and Dr. Lee did the extraction itself and was really good and gave me tips to help with the process. While the receptionist Winnie was extremely nice and clear clear, the other receptionist Carmen was EXTREMELY rude and was unclear. She gave me attitude and even hung up on me. It is extremely shady and unethical how they handle their accounting system. They stated that the consultation and check up is included with insurance so asked me to pay $520 and that I would get $130 back after my insurance goes through. I actually ended up paying $30 instead of receiving that $130 back. It turns out that they lied about the consultation being charged to the insurance and that I had to pay that out of pocket because insurance doesn't cover it; it doesn't even make sense because you are not able to perform the procedure without doing the consultation. Make sure you ask about this and clarify with the practice and your insurance as they will try to steal your money. You're better off going to a transparent practice before it's too late and you have to pay $100 out of pocket for a consultation when you could've gotten it covered elsewhere. Just an FYI if you want the laughing gas, you will need to pay that out of pocket as insurance will not cover it and if you want to be put to sleep, they do not do that at this practice. read more

The doctors in this office are great but the people that work there are very rude and overzealous. I had questions on my bill as the doctor told me one thing, then the person that charges tried to charge me more and while I am trying to explain her what happened, she just tells me "I am done with you, I can't deal with you no more". I ask to talk to the supervisor who came and explain her that I was right. They fixed my bill and we called it a day. 8 months later, I received a bill from them saying that I owed them more money. That's not an issue but I needed to understand what for. So I called and that lady said very rudely that I paid 10% of my bill and that my insurance paid 70% and I have to pay the rest. They already knew my insurance was paying 70% , we all knew and when I was there the lady told me she was changing me 30% of co payment. I tried tell her that so she can clarify but instead she said listen "I think we are done here go check your credit card bill.... Those people are VERY RUDE. Was reccommend by my dentist to visit an oral surgeon. All I can say is WOW!!!! I just left 5 mins ago and super happy I came to the right place. Mr.Fujimoto literally took less than 5 mins to extract my wisdom tooth. He noticed I still had an infection so he gave me an extra shot for comfort. , I was so Freaked out before the procedure but the dental assistant made me feel at Ease!!! She was super cool and gave me discharge instructions and I was on my way out. I totally reccommend this place if you wanna do any extractions! All I can say is PAINLESS!!!! After having the run-around with my other dentist, I visited Dr. Lee to take out my wisdom tooth. Dr. Lee is an awesome oral surgeon. A friend recommended me to visit Dr. Lee and it was the best experience I have ever had. He basically told me everything I needed to know and didn't dance around the issue. Today, I got my wisdom tooth taken out and it took a matter of seconds. All it took was some local anesthesia and just a tiny bit of pressure... Honestly, I didn't even know it was out. During the whole procedure, the surgical assistant was very kind and Dr. Lee talked me through the whole process. Office staff is really a hit and miss. One is nice and very professional, while the other one didn't seem to care for my needs. :P Anyways, overall, I give this place 5 stars. I will definitely come back to get another one pulled. Edit: So I waited 2 hours for the pain medication to go away... And I feel nothing. Absolutely no pain. o_o read more

I had gotten my lower wisdom teeth out before with another dr. here in the city were I was put to sleep and I just felt like a zombie the whole day. I just had my last upper two wisdom teeth removed about 15minutes ago and here I am writing a review for Oral surgeon Lee. It was quick and painless in by 10am out by 10:25 and thats just with numbing and a lil laughing gas which I could of done without. I am afraid to go to the dentist but I felt like I was in the best hands in the whole city. The dentist attitude was like "it's a peace of cake" after all he does this all day long. Anyway, I recommend him to anyone who needs their wisdom teeth extracted. I am ready for run! read more

I have no complaints about the front office people at Dr. Lee's office. I recently saw Dr. Lee to get all 4 wisdom teeth extracted and I did the procedure with just local anesthetic, no laughing gas. The procedure took around 40 minutes and the surgery cost a little more than $100 per tooth. I went in thinking that I wouldn't need any additional painkillers but I ended up asking Lee three times for more anesthetic. I later realized that the majority of the pain came not from my gums (which were numbed) but from my jaw muscles which hurt from having to resist the pressure Lee applied to my mouth to get my teeth out. I won't lie, the procedure was painful! At some points I even felt like my jaw was breaking. However, Lee was very comforting and made sure to inform me of what was going on every step of the way and was very quick to respond when I raised my hand to signal for more painkiller. After the procedure it felt like someone had been punching me on both sides of my face for an hour. I took the prescribed painkillers for one day after surgery (after that the pain was greatly diminished even though I still couldn't quite eat without discomfort) and it took around 10 days for the swelling to completely go away. All things said, would I do the procedure with Lee again if I had to redo it? Yes. However, I would also seriously consider the laughing gas option. read more

I would give a zero star rating if I could. I was referred to this office by my dentist so I tried to scheduled an appointment for my daughter. Then few days before the appointment the office called and said they needed to reschedule. However it was at a time that I cant make it so I had to cancelled it. Then I tried to call back to reschedule a month later and the front desk lady said dr fujimoto has a very busy schedule and gave me only two dates to choose from. I said ok fine i would like to schedule the appointment then she said this is your second time booking and if you cancel again we will not take you. Is it my fault that your office changed the time for my first appointment and I am supposed to be available anytime to make it? Obviously this place does not care about their patients or my business. They only work around the doctor's schedule and expect the patient to do too. I gave up on this place at the end as customer service doesn't exists here. My dentist referred me to Dr. Lee for TMJ. I had a great experience with Dr. Lee but a terrible experience with Carmen, one of the receptionists. She was very unprofessional and rude. Winnie, on the other hand, was very helpful and kind. I will be getting my wisdom teeth extracted soon and, needless to say, will not be coming back to this office for the procedure. Trust me I have the before and after photos to prove it. They perfectly performed a difficult hospitalized surgery on me which I cannot even pronounce as it's so involved, but required very exact expertise! I know as I've considered SURGEONS for this SURGERY for a decade. While I have never had four teeth extracted, I had one. I feel that their offices' excellent assistants are all completely capable of the advice needed and the status update for a routine procedures such as tooth extractions. Had Rita or her child's other parent spoken to him before the procedure during a consultation? I'm sure that they did, and also would have let Rita or her husband into the patient room with their child had it been appropriate. If Rita Y. would have asked to speak to Dr. Lee that day after the extractions, I know he would have come out in person. Both surgeons spent much time talking to my mother when she had questions about my face-changing surgery, and even had a conference call with of all before my mother flew here to take care of me post-op. Besides, who else calls in the evening to check on their patients' recovery? Exactly. While I primarily go to Dr. Fujimoto, Dr. Lee has also seen me many times and was the assistant surgeon on my VERY complicated procedure. He performs these surgeries with Fujimoto as his assistant as well. Dr. Fujimoto is very personal, and while I do not spend much time with Dr. Lee he seems kind. My E.R. doctor is his patient and LOVES him! Whenever Fujimoto doesn't have time or is at the office farthest from me while I am having an emergency-- such as a standard post-op infection-- Dr. Lee always squeezes me into his full schedule. During my hospital stay-- Dr. Lee was the one who primarily did my rounds twice a day (before and after his normal daytime office schedule) and is a lifesaver by doing things such as bringing me some extra wax, etc. So thoughtful and considerate! (Other surgeons send interns for rounds) I've seen them for over a year now and love them, as does EVERYONE else with whom I have come into contact! Their peers in the industry respect and refer them, especially at the hospital who appear to be in awe of them. Both SURGEONS confer with your dentist, ortho, physician, etc, to make sure that the entire process runs smooth and that everyone is on the same page, which is all included in your consultation/procedure fees. Also, they run ON TIME, if even early, all of the time. What other medical office does that? The staff at both locations are very nice, so maybe the previous reviewer had someone new? Or, at the moment, maybe a staff member was just swamped with a person undergoing a more difficult procedure such as mine? Last week I called and the receptionist knew my voice on the phone as I've spent so much time there (read above review if you need more info), and at 7 weeks Post-Op from a major orthognathic surgery I definitely sound distinct. I call both offices all the time with questions like, "May I swim now?" and the messages are immediately returned. In my experience the staff at their SF and Cupertino offices are pros, only once was there a new employee who needs a little more instruction-- but she's learning fast and it didn't delay me at all. The staff has also been patient working with my many re-schedulings and have never-missed with getting my charts between the Cupertino and SF offices, which I both use depending on whether I am at work or home. That alone impresses me! For more on this office-- try looking up each surgeon on their own for both Cupertino and San Francisco. You will find they receive mostly five-star ratings, and in a time when "cosy" "hospitality" is rare-- Fujimoto and Lee are definitely above the norm where that is concerned! By far! No one else to whom I have spoken (and trust me, when a surgeon is changing your face you speak to many people about that) disagrees with me. read more

I needed low cost wisdom tooth extraction quickly because of infection, and decided to go here because of the reviews and price. They were able to see me in less than 24 hours. I saw Dr. Lee and he was awesome. He's very knowledgeable and explained the process step by step and I felt that he cared about my concerns. He also seemed very sociable, as he chatted and joked with me before going over the extraction process. The front office staff were very nice to me and helped me in the long process of paying for the procedure, because I didn't have insurance. The actual procedure was amazingly quick and painless. I brought my iPod to listen to to drown out the sound of cracking, crunching, and bone-sawing of my jaw and teeth. The thing is, I only got through one and a half songs- the surgery was barely 8 minutes long to remove my wisdom teeth! I didn't feel any discomfort, and honestly I didn't know Dr. Lee had removed the top teeth until he started to sit the chair up. Post surgery was a breeze, some slight pain and discomfort and swelling but nothing major. He called that night to make sure everything was OK, which it was. Three days after surgery I was at Giordano Bros. eating a sandwich the size of my face, and everything was perfect. I can't imagine anyone having a more pain free experience than I had because mine was so easy. This is not only a good place to go for the price, but the care and quality of the staff was amazing. I went to this place for teeth extraction about three months ago because I had to get four of my teeth(not wisdom teeth) removed for my braces. I was terrified about the idea of having four of my teeth removed, and it was a difficult decision to make to have all four of them removed on the same day, but I didn't regret having my teeth extraction done by Dr. Calvin Lee and to have it done all in one day. To be honest, I'm the kind of person who is scared of feeling painful. And I have never had any teeth extraction ever since I'm grown up, so I had no idea on whether I should go to a general dentist or to an oral surgeon for the extraction. Considering there could be infection if the extraction is not done well, after doing some researches on oral surgeon through Yelp, I had decided to schedule to have initial consultation with Dr Lee first before I make further commitment. Long story short, after the initial consultation, I immediately scheduled for the operation. On the day of operation, I was frightened and I couldn't stopped my body from shaking because I was extremely nervous(haha, how embarrassing). But the operation went fast. I had my MP3 player on, and the operation is done after the third song is done playing. There go four of my teeth were extracted!! Can you believe it!!!? There was just a bit of pain when they gave me the local anesthesia shot. I don't remember experiencing any pain during the operation. I could feel some pulling during the procedure, but it was nothing after all. During the second half of the procedure, I couldn't even tell whether the dentist was pulling out the upper left tooth or the upper right teeth because I felt numb from the local anesthesia. I could never imagine the operation being so fast and going so well. Thanks to Dr. Calvin Lee! The extration price range per tooth depends on what "type" of teeth and the level of difficulty of extraction. Four of my teeth were easy to be removed so the cost was cheaper than expected. Dr. Lee's office is not the cheapest, but I'd totally recommend Dr. Lee! I do care about the cost, but comparing the risk and pain and experience, I think it's worth to have someone like Dr. Lee to give you peace of mind. read more

Have been here 3x for teeth extractions for family members (not me personally). They're very competent oral and maxillofacial surgeons(dentists). The front office staff can be hit or miss. Some are very nice and cordial, while others are not so friendly. Dr. Jeffrey Fujimoto is very nice and primarly works out of their Cupertino, CA office. Dr. Calvin Lee works primarly at the SF office. He's not as sociable and much more business-like. At our last appt (and hopefully final), our kid got 4 teeth extracted. After the procedure, Dr. Lee didn't even come out to talk to the parents, only his assistant came out to give post-extraction instructions. You'd like to think that you're not going to be treated like a business number even 'tho it is a private business. He did redeem himself by calling later that evening after dinner to see how things were. For us, it was a matter of location and competence. Would we return, sure, just don't expect cozy small town hospitality. read more

I was referred to Dr. Lee for a wisdom tooth extraction. I HATE any dental procedures and the thought of it makes me nervous. As much as i hate going to the dentist, I couldn't have been any more satisfied with Dr. Lee. He was probably the only doctor who ever offered me a music device to listen to while he performed the procedure. It was a great distraction. He also called me to follow up on my recovery which no other doctor has done. With that said, I would definitely refer friends or family to Dr. Lee for any oral surgery needs. read more

Dr. Fujimoto is the best! As stated in reviews before, he is an oral surgeon, not a dentist-if you're looking to get you're teeth cleaned or whitened, go elsewhere. But if you have wisdom teeth that need removing, like I did, he is the one who should do it. His appointment times are reasonable- I only had to wait a week and a half to see him. Some of the more prestigious oral surgeons I called told me I would need to wait a month, and pay hundreds of dollars more than Dr. Fujimoto charged. My extractions were quick and COMPLETELY PAINLESS! I didn't even need any of the vicodin he prescribed me after the surgery, and the bleeding stopped in a few hours. Granted, my extractions were very simple, so I don't know how an impacted molar would compare, but I imagine it wouldn't be too much worse. He used just a local anesthetic, and by the time it wore off the bleeding had stopped and there was no pain, just a little soreness. The needle was also painless-I barely even felt it. And he's got a good personality too-very easygoing and jokey, makes you feel comfortable about going in. Almost no time in the waiting room for when I made an appointment, and his front staff are very courteous, if a bit more restrained personality wise than he is. My only complaint is that the first time I had my molars removed he threw away the teeth without asking me if I wanted to keep them (I did) The second time around I said I wanted to keep my teeth, and they were waiting for me at the front desk when I left. Overall, he's great, and cheaper than other surgeons. read more
