My main grievance was around their handling of a form which requires mandatory arbitration agreement. 7x7 requires this as a condition for surgery but they did not communicate this until the night before the surgery. I remember being shown this form during my initial consultation and refused to sign it. I do not remember being told this was a prerequisite for surgery. I was given a packet of documents to take home but notably the forms required for surgery were not included. Later in October I had a phone call with them to make my appointment and there was no communication about any required forms. I had no communication from them for a month until about a week before the operation when I was reminded that I needed to pick up some valium before the operation, again nothing about any forms. They did not bring this issue up again until the night before the surgery. I signed all of the forms except the arbitration agreement. They told me that it was required for surgery and then called me and said that if I did not sign the arbitration agreement that I was "cancelling" the appointment which would trigger a $500 cancellation fee. I told them that they were cancelling the appointment not me and we had an argument. After thinking about things a bit, I decided that in order to avoid a dispute over the $500 charge and move on with my life, to sign the agreement under duress. They had nearly 3 months to provide these forms and explain their policy. Instead, they waited until I was within the "cancellation penalty window" to create an ultimatum. Likewise for my initial consultation they did explain that I would include an x-ray that would not be covered by insurance but did not say that the consultation itself ($247) was not covered by insurance. That being said the extraction itself went fine, but it was basically the most routine oral surgery operation. However, based on their aggressive business practices alone I would strongly recommend finding another provider.

Mugdha Patwardhan is the only doctor in my lifetime I have ever considered reporting to the board,…read moreand I may. After seeing other reviews describing the same experience, I owe potential patients a warning. Similar to the other reviews, she was incredibly insulting and unprofessional. When I asked questions about the planned wisdom teeth extraction, she said she wouldn't explain because I wouldn't understand. She showed me plaque near my tooth, yelled at me to look close at it, and then put it back in my teeth without cleaning it off. When I tried later calling the office (not her) to ask a simple question about the radiation the CBCT scan emits (simply because I was trying to be careful since I would be doing a couple that same year) she berated me for inquiring. I tried multiple times telling her I would like to speak to a staff member, and she refused. Every time I said something she interrupted. The worst part, and a complete violation of a practice's code of conduct, is she told me she then talked negatively about me to my dental doctor, scolding me for requesting medical data from that doctor, which is a normal request and a patient's legal right. This woman seems to have issues with any question a patient asks, and of the over 100 doctors I've seen in my lifetime, is the only one who has ever said nasty things to someone they've just met. I truly wonder how many of the 5 star Google reviews are paid for, versus the extremely low overall rating on Yelp. Please considering removing this doctor from the practice and if you are a patient, please be extra careful if you decide to do a consultation here. If you have problems or questions following your wisdom tooth extraction, do think whether she will help you once operated on based on some of the experiences you read about this doctor.

I did not ask for a *same day* cleaning, I just asked to schedule *a* cleaning, so that is also a lie (screenshot of my email and their direct response attached). --- DO NOT GO HERE. I read all the reviews on this office being shady but I have Delta Dental HMO so I didn't have many options. I got x-rays done and Dr. Behradnia told me I needed a crown for an existing filling he claimed wasn't sealed. He tested that tooth and I don't have any sensitivity there, so the filling wasn't too close to the nerve. I decided to not get the crown after getting a second and third opinion, and I asked the front office if I could just get the cleaning and not the crown. THEY DENIED ME THE CLEANING BECAUSE "it is the office policy for most dentists that the patient only has one dentist diagnosing and treating their oral needs, not two or more." I consulted the former Chief of General Dentistry for 30 years at one of the top hospitals in Boston, and another dentist who graduated from BU Dental School and both of them said this response is unethical. They're withholding a CLEANING just because I don't want to go forward with a crown, which is entirely unrelated to just a normal cleaning--this place is a scam.

Recently I had to stop avoiding going and found Ocean Breeze. I never want to go to another dental practice again. Everyone in the office is genuinely kind and makes you feel comfortable from day 1. They enjoy what they do and give you that feeling of a small family that's opened their home to share their passion for helping others. If I showed up one day and Dr. P and Nissa said, "hey sit down and have a meal before we get started" it would be fitting, lol. They're awesome! Beyond being cool people, here's why I love the practice: - the office setting is comfortable and welcoming - it's easy to get in and get scheduled - my appointment time is my actual appointment time - not 45 minutes after I've arrived - they embrace technology so you get texts reminding you of your appointment - they accept Denti-Cal. You have to wait for the approval process to go through Denti-Cal itself but that's the insurance process, not the dental practice - Dr. P explains what's going on with your teeth and gums in plain English and has a great sense of humor. She also shows you pictures so you don't have to wonder if what she's recommending is legit. - my procedures have been remarkably painless. This I'm sure is a combination of Dr. P's skill and her exceptional personality (she's a great story teller so you're comfortable the whole time). - due to my previous avoidance I've had to have several procedures. My teeth look fricken awesome! I couldn't be happier. My teeth are happy and so am I, all thanks to Ocean Breeze Dentistry

The receptionist and staff are nice, welcoming, thorough with covid procedures. Julie made sure I had all the costs and insurance info I needed. There were many red flags at which point I should've just walked away but I don't know why I stayed.. I have major regrets. I was a new patient so they took new x-rays. Dr Laura noticed I had tiny cracks/holes starting to form on some of my teeth and recommended fillings. (I've never needed them and was very hesitant to agree to this but she made it seem like the cracks would get worse if I didn't deal with them now. {Spoiler, my new dentist affirmed that I did NOT need fillings, especially ones so big..} so, me being afraid/nervous and trusting her judgment, I agreed to proceed) My first visit, I did a deep cleaning and they numbed my gums. I've never had to numb my gums for a cleaning.. 2nd red flag For the fillings they had to split up into 2 sessions because the numbing would be too much in 1 session. The assistant who filled my teeth seemed like he knew what he was doing, but I quickly learned that he did not.. before he started the procedure, he told me one thing and ended up doing another. I had to ask after the session, didn't we agree to this? And he just played it off like an oops things. I emailed the front desk saying that was unacceptable. I was so in shock in the moment that I didn't say anything to him, and I needed to get back to work. Front desk replied that they would speak to him but I wouldn't know if they actually did. 3rd red flag Finally, the cost of the fillings and deep cleaning were so much. I feel like they were trying to nickel and dime me and really pressured me to do fillings when I didn't need to. Now I can't remove them. And for deep cleaning, I definitely did not need to be numbed, which seemed like an easy way for them to upcharge me. Honestly this has been on my mind for the past year but I wasn't sure if it was just me or if this is just how all dental offices are. I recently visited a new dental office and it is SO much better and exactly what you should expect from a good dentist. Please just be wary if you're visiting this office and don't be afraid to walk away like I did

I originally found Dr. Ho after a nightmare experience at other dental clinics trying to get a routine cavity filled.
