I got my routine teeth cleaning done here recently at Dream Dental. Note: they have a new temporary location until the end of November 2023 at 5617 Geary Blvd, which is where I went. I do not have any experience going to their original location on Taraval. Calling to make an appointment was quick and simple and they had plenty of times available. Their Geary office is new, spacious, and clean. It had that "new" building smell to it. I was quickly led to the back into my chair where the detail assistant took x-rays of my teeth. They projected the images on a large tv screen in front of me and then Dr. Ramirez came in to review the x-rays with me and also do a manual inspection. He then proceeded with a standard teeth cleaning. We wrapped up by allowing me a chance to ask him questions and receive aftercare advice. I believe their office provided a quality cleaning and would recommend them to anyone looking for a new dentist in the area. They also accept many forms of insurance, including Medi-Cal. read more

This office really pushes for a deep cleaning when its not necessary. They'll even call your insurance company to get it approved. Do like me and get a second opinion. My gums are perfectly fine. While some reviews may reflect Dr. Summer's care, my experience with Dr. Ramirez was very disappointing. The front desk was untrained and unhelpful--I spent two weeks in pain trying to schedule an emergency visit (covered by my insurance) only to be told last minute I'd need to pay out of pocket because the doctor was going on vacation. At my first appointment, I waited 35 minutes past my scheduled time and was met with rushed, harsh care. My second visit for a filling was no better--the flossing was aggressive and the filling itself was poorly done, leaving me in discomfort. As someone in the dental field who was also seen here as a patient, I'm truly disappointed in Dr. Ramirez's care. read more

Came here for a first time for a dental cleaning and Dr.Ramirez was very kind, gentle and very straightforward in terms of what could be better and what is needed. I soon found out from him that I had an infected root canal under my crown from my previous dentist. Dr. Ramirez was honest and told me what they could do to fix the issue and soon I got referred to Dr. Summer since she was a specialist. I can't tell you how devastated I was and angry from my previous dentist who was condesending and scammed me for several dental procedures leading up to my failed root canal. Dr. Summer was very confident and had so much patience in retreating my root canal. She answered all my concerns and was very thorough with the whole retreatment and post recovery. Dr. Summer is so kind, reassuring and I really appreciate her time and efforts in resolving my issue. Also, the receptionists are also kind as well, and the receptionist in house always welcomes me by my name when I come in, which is a bonus. The whole staff are great! Nice? yes. Gentle? sure. Critical/judgmental? Blessedly, not outwardly so... My criticism is the lame job of "cleaning" he did. I can honestly do better removing tartar with a metal tool myself. Yeah, I am aware that what he called the "cleaning" that I got was somehow DIFFERENT from the "deep cleaning" he needed explicit approval from my insurer to so much as even SCHEDULE me. Too polite to criticize him to his face, but just between u & me? Hard pass. If a fully fledged dentist doesn't know damn well that thorough tartar removal - AT LEAST ABOVE thr gum line, for heavens sake - is the very PURPOSE of a legit dental cleaning, then I wouldn't like to discover what OTHER typically "standard practices" his patients are cheated out of unless requested - for line item billing, of course. read more

Dr. Ramirez from Dream Dental is a fraud. He used my insurance to get his money for the treatment he never finished. The fillings he did are of terrible quality, and he refuses to redo or complete them because he's "uncomfortable" with me after I've confronted them about their lack of ethics and professionalism. He has zero respect for his patients and will dispose of them as soon as he's got what he wanted leaving you having to find somebody else to redo his poor job. Please stay away from Dream Dental. They will lie in your face and make you at fault. Worst experience ever. read more

Really good experience today for my children. They came in for a routine dental cleaning. Dr. Ramirez did the cleaning and is great with kids. Both of my children had a good experience and they also had x-rays and my kids were very happy. I highly recommend this place for a dentist. Next time I want to come here for my cleaning too. Dr. Ramirez is amazing! My kids had 2 visits before writing this review, I wanted to make sure it was fair & honest. My 13 year old daughter conquered her fears of the dentist today. Saw Dr. Daniel Ramirez DDS, other dentist at Dream Dental, new patient. (Change in insurance). Extraordinarily clean office, new latest equipment, efficient, pleasant manner. Very observant of all my extensive past work and pointed out progressing conditions to watch, and explained their importance. Equally professional and pleasant staff. All paperwork efficiently processed ahead of time, so checkout was a breeze and no surprise charges, despite thorough exam, cleaning and full set of X-rays. Highly satisfied. read more

Overpriced and deceptive billing practices. Went in to examine a chipped tooth and they attempted to charge me $150 with 20% insurance coverage for an 'ER visit' (which I was not informed the visit would be categorized as when I made my appointment). On top of that the most expensive filling option was chosen at $400 with 50% coverage. So for 1 chipped tooth, they wanted to charge me $300+. My previous dentist did an exam and 3 fillings (sadly I know my dentist costs...) for $150. The price discrepancy was too much and unfortunately I won't be returning. I don't leave a lot of reviews, but I am compelled to leave one for Dr. Summer (Xia). I've had a lot of dental work done in my life, but I have never, ever, met a dentist that has the skill set, compassion, and care that Dr. Summer possesses. Her practice is aptly named "dream dental." One thing I really dislike about going to other dentist' is being referred out. That won't happen with her! Dr. Summer is the only dentist I have ever found that has a complete skill set and can do virtually any procedure. Most other dentist's only do basic things like fillings and crowns, then if you need something more complex, like a root canal, dental implant, or veneer, they refer you to another dentist. Not Dr. Summer! She has an amazing and complete skill set. She does difficult extractions, root canals, implants, and veneers. Her office is equipped with all of the needed technology to get these procedures done efficiently. She is very gentle and her procedures are pain-free. It's not difficult to make appointments with her office, I've been able to get in within a few days and if the problem is urgent, she sees me the same day. If you're looking for an awesome dentist, with a great personality and a skill set far superior to virtually all other dentists, Dr. Summer is for you! read more

Outside of cleaning I had done in NYC, he's literally the only dentist I've ever known. Dr. Fong is AWESOMESAUCE. Super friendly, remembers details about you and your family, on time, and efficient. The office is always tidy, and there are a lot of magazines during the almost non-existent wait. His exam room is spotless with a ton of natural light. He also is very accommodating if you don't have insurance. The prices are very reasonable ($95 for a thorough cleaning), and he's even open on Saturdays if you're like my BFF who lives 5 hours away but is looking for an awesome dentist. *nudges her* HIGHLY recommended. read more

I went to dentist in downtown and they insisted to work on all of my teeth with pricey proposal. Then I got recommendation from our friend about Dr.Fong. I made a 1st visit and it was very great. Dr. Fong is a very nice, friendly and intelligent person. I've been going to Dr. Fong for .....I can't remember how long and I haven't been in a while but should. He is a real pro...always friendly and, like another said, doesn't try to push you into proceedures that you don't need. And he does the cleaning himself. Took two of my wisdom teeth out (as an adult) and never felt the needles and didn't feel one of the teeth and the other was just a slight tug. My old dentist as a kid pulled a coupld of baby teeth and it felt liek he was putting the needle through my skull and pulling the teeth with a Mack truck! I came here to get my teeth cleaned and a teeth cleanup today, and I remember this place all the time I come. The price is fairly decent for dentist visits. Though I'm not sure if they see people on emergency purposes. The people are nice there, and the dentists are really nice. You can have interesting discussions with them while you wait for your tests or while they are transitioning to things. They are intelligent, well-spoken, and speak in Chinese and English. The neighborhood is Sunset so parking can be difficult. But today it was easy. I had Dr. Lee help me out today with some teeth cleaning, and I ended up with a mouth rinse and a free Oral-B toothbrush. Well, "free." read more

Been seeing Dr Fong for over 20years and i never had one complaint. He is always ontime and his work is superb. The girls at the front desk are super friendly and nice. He fill your tooth knowing that there is another cavity and not tell you. He purposely drill into your healthy fillings to make more work for himself. He purposely drill into your tooth and wait for something to happen and then tell you that it can't be save by refilling again and needs a root canal and a crown costing you around $2,000. Either that you'll need a fake tooth. In any rate this guy I went to isn't satisfy by just earning your $150 for fills, he wants more. I visited other dentists and they told me the tooth can be refilled. The one I went to is Donald Lee from this FAMILY DENTISTRY. The guy is a con artist. This guy is hungry greedy and desperate. Called to make an appointment and said that the only space available is 2 months away. What a scammer pretend that he's busy. If that's the case why would he do such a thing sabotaging people's teeth to make more work for himself. Came in with just a need for a cavity fill and went out with an infection on one tooth and an drilled to one of my healthy fills. Don't be scammed and go somewhere else. He purposely create work for himself by damaging your healthy teeth and fills. I know he damaged my healthy fill while working on the tooth next to it because there wasn't a crack in my other healthy fills before. After the fill I noticed that there was a crack in my other healthy fill that wasn't there before. Charge you $45 for a visit? Who does that? I remembered I didn't have to pay that the first visit. He really needs money these days to do things like this. He also makes up charges. Once you sign the paper saying that you'll pay for all attorney fees, you can't sue him for scamming you. read more
