I came in for specific treatments and left with more damage and financial loss. 1. FAILED ROOT CANAL (Tooth #3): My insurance company refused to cover a crown for a root canal done AT THIS CLINIC because their review found the procedure was "inadequate and incomplete." Now, I have to pay for a retreatment on a tooth that was already weakened by their mistake. 2. MISDIAGNOSIS & WRONG EXTRACTION (Tooth #20 vs #19): I specifically went in to have a filling on Tooth #20 checked. I even paid $50 out-of-pocket for a 3D Scan for each tooth to ensure accuracy. Despite these advanced images and the extra cost, the student doctor dismissed my concerns, claimed #20 was "healthy," and told me the pain was coming from Tooth #19. Based on this, I had #19 extracted. The pain didn't stop. I later discovered ON MY OWN that the filling on #20 was loose and moving. They had the 3D scans, they took my money, and they still missed an obvious problem. Because of their misdiagnosis, I lost a tooth (19) and left the actual problem (20) untreated for weeks, risking another root canal. While I have had professional student doctors here in the past (like Dr. Fukawa and Dr. Perez), the current level of care and diagnosis is DANGEROUS. Students are learning, but there seems to be a serious lack of oversight when it comes to critical decisions. If you value your teeth and your time, make sure you get a second opinion before letting them drill or pull anything.

There was a wealth of much looked-for information which reaffirmed to me, this was the TEAM that I wanted to join. I attended CCF 2-day weekend training this past weekend. Celia was our Master Coach. The training was intense at times, yet, very educating. I'm certain that I have learned more in those two days, than I could have learned in the regular courses of 6-months to a year. Celia was very patient and thorough to ensure, "No student was left behind." The role-playing and additional supporting documents was very instrumental as I begin my journey as a Certified Life Coach! Celia has an upcoming event in a few days in which I will be attending. I encourage anyone who is looking for a life coach trainer to look up Celia Ward-Wallace!

Two years prior to my son being ready for preschool we began a search for the most appropriate…read moreprogram for him. During that time, we observed every type of approach imaginable. Reggio, Montessori, church-based, home-based, academic, private and public. Seriously, no rock went unturned. Walking into John Tracy was immediately impactful. The campus is secure with a gate and cameras at the opening. I can't tell you how many schools I was able to walk into off the street. The grounds are also immaculate. It is absolutely the cleanest preschool we saw. That includes the private ones priced at $25k and above. There's a real sense of pride shared by every individual in every position at JTC. I spent extensive time over the course of a few weeks speaking with and emailing the director Angie, and observing the classroom. Courtney is a wonderful teacher. She's caring and has clear, consistent boundaries for the students. The school also has a world class counselor in Mary Beth who is always available to offer strategies and support. The entire team at JTC also facilitates weekly parent classes. As an added bonus, Mt. Saint Mary's partners with the school through a grad students program throughout the year. This was important to us as it allowed for constant 1:1, often more than that, interaction for our son. Additionally, the class is always being observed either in the room, or through an attached observation area. The teachers and administrators are always on their A-game and available to parents. When it came down to choosing a program we selected JTC because of all the above and the one intangible we didn't find elsewhere. I unequivocally trust them with my child, period. Their approach to each child as an individual is anchored by relationships with the parents. They make a real attempt to include us as part of the JTC family. In all of this, I've yet to mention the fact that the school is primarily for children with cochlear implants and severe hearing loss. My son has neither of these. If he did, the program is considered as one of the best in the business. They combine best practices and developmental expectations as all of the children will be moving on to kindergarten. Some in traditional school settings, and some in mixed hearing loss/traditional programs. My son is still able to work on his own academic pace, and interact with children his own age as he would in a more traditional preschool program. These children may have hearing impairments, but are just like any other 4-year-old you encounter. We took a chance to do something a little outside the box, and I have zero regrets. Our experience at JTC will stay with our family and my son in particular for a lifetime. We are indelibly grateful to this program. I truly couldn't say enough good things about this school, staff and parents we've encountered.

Before finding our perfect school we tried a couple of other schools in the area and found out that they had a three hour nap, which was not an option for our active 3 year old boy. They have a psychologist and development specialists on site, which is very helpful. I love that they have lengthy outside play time in the shaded yard. Oh, and I forgot to mention the huge Morton bay fig tree in the front yard, which is the soul of the whole preschool. It was so great to bring my son there every day after the hustle of downtown Los Angeles. Highly recommend!
