What makes this farmers market so special is that there's truly something for everyone. Many of the produce vendors have been staples for our family for years. You can find fresh vegetables, eggs, local crawfish, chicken, meat, bread, pastries, plants, dates, flowers..you name it, and it's probably there. The vendors are always welcoming, and there's such a great sense of community. It's wonderful to see so many people coming together to support local farmers, makers, and small businesses. Whether you're shopping for groceries, grabbing a bite to eat, or just enjoying the atmosphere, it's always a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

Most of the merchants accept CREDIT CARD, making the experience smoother. There is 1 (one) coffee truck with breads if you need your caffeine fix. These are a bit drier and denser than the other tofu products. They are wide and thin...almost ribbonlike. They're a byproduct of the tofu-making process. Rather than toss them, there's a vender here that bags these irregular bits and sells them, cheap. I like them because the are a bit chewy and textured. They don't fall apart during cooking. They hold up to being sliced in shorter pieces and stir-fried. One bag is enough for several meals Many bargains can be found here if you're adventurous enough to try new-to-you fruits and veggies. I recommend making a pass-through of the whole market before making purchases. Prices can vary from vender to vender. You can save quite a bit of money getting your produce here rather than at the regular supermarket produce department. That's if you are flexible in which veggies you purchase. This place tends to have all sorts of asian veggies and only a few of the more common ones.

We met a few crafters and loved their stuff. We bought an adorable bandana, hat, and pinata plush from Xochi's Pawfections. We also bought two delicious Vietnamese coffees (one with pandan cream) from Bing Bing Shave Ice and Coffee. Finally, we met owner Krystal who makes the cutest jewelry with clay. There was plenty of room to browse and no problem finding interesting goods! Street parking can be a challenge but Sundays mean free street parking!

This farmers market happens once a week on Sunday mornings from 9am-2pm. This market is located at Carmichael Park on Grant Avenue. Generally I'd say there are about 50 or so vendors each week at the market,though I have seen that number a little higher on random weekends. Free parking at this park is pretty plentiful as Carmichael Park has many parking spaces available. These vendors are pretty good-quite similar to the vendors that I've seen at the Midtown Farmers Market-fresh fruits and veggies,a few vendors making fresh foods,like the cinnamon rolls vendor that got me to this farmers market. They have a vendor who has massage chairs setup and offers massages to customers. Another vendor I love is an Asian Bakery,selling incredible milk bread and sells these great egg salad sandos on milk bread-solid stuff. The best vendor, though,as I mentioned earlier is the cinnamon roll vendor and it's fabulous.The lines for this vendor can be pretty long and they sell out every weekend-I fully recommend them. There are many stands that serve produce, bread, flowers, honey, and much more. I love the flower booth that is comes to this farmers market every weekend. You can buy flowers by the bouquet (anywhere from $7-$30) or you can ask about bulk purchases. I also like that they have performers that play guitar, piano, sing, etc. This farmers market doesn't compare to the midtown farmers market, but a great farmers market if you're looking to simply buy produce and fresh items. There is plenty of parking. There are no food trucks or food stands with already made food. Also, no dogs allowed.

I learned about this from seeing downtownsac's posts on social media. If you love food trucks, there's a few to check out here. I want to go back to try Pinorrito (Filipino food) I loved the Vietnamese iced coffee, fried shrimp bites and egg rolls I ordered from Boba & Bites. There's plenty of farmers there from micro greens to mushrooms, you cannot go wrong. J & J Ramos Farms was there along with Toledo Farms, each stocked with fresh produce ranging from vegetables to fruits. There's also bakery items such as Faria Bakery and Rosa's Bakery. All in all, check out this farmer's market in downtown sac and follow their social media for updates. Everyone here was nice and had wonderful customer service. I loved seeing the dogs out along with people watching too. It was through there that I was able to learn that they were closed the week of July 4th.
