I started at Evolution in the Fall of 2013 with the intentions of joining the fight team. By the Summer of 2014, I had my first fight with Evolution and won unanimous. Prior to becoming a member at Evolution I had a strong background in Karate & Boxing. However, there were a lot of holes in my game that Brandon quickly fixed. He is excellent at translating information, correcting form, providing motivation, and creating a platform for individuals to grow. Not only did I win my first fight under Brandon, but by 2016 I achieved 5 championship belts and a Gold Medal for Team USA. From originally having an awkward style to becoming proficient in Muay Thai - I would say Evolution is an outstanding place to train. Whether you are training to fight, become fit, build confidence, or learn the techniques - YOU will get all of that accomplished here. The amount of work you invest in your training will reflect. I don't have anything negative to say about this gym, but a response to the reviews that are not 5 stars: 1. If it is your FIRST TIME visiting, arrive on time. 2. The gym is usually HOT when it's crowded. As a person who occasionally travels to Thailand for extensive training - I prefer training in warm facilities to prevent injuries and sweat out sodium. 3. Brandon is comical, but just like any trainer - he knows when to be serious. Training is already tough and can be intimidating to newcomers, so it's important to remember to have fun.

Its great that they offer a variety of classes from yoga to bootcamp and everything in between. I myself do the kickboxing and bootcamp 4 days a week with an occasionaly yoga class when i have time and i have seen amazing results. Leon is a great trainer and he pushes you to do your best because he wants results!! Ambria's Zogalaties class makes u sweat as well and is great for toning. I have referred many people here because i truly believe its an amazing place to work out and to make friends. its only 10 dollars a class or 100 for the month so you really cant go wrong, i would recommend this place to everyone!!

When you walk in, there is a reception area with benches and cubbies, with new bathrooms (including showers). From there you head into the main workout space, which includes about 30 heavy Smart bags, a full workout area with weights and treadmills, and a boxing ring. I took a 60-minute class and it was both great and challenging. The format included about an 8-minute warmup, ten boxing rounds, and finished with abs and stretching. The instructor was excellent, high energy, motivating, and consistently encouraging proper form. I look forward to going back. Highly recommend if you are looking for a tough, fun, and well-structured boxing workout.

Hip Fit just moved its location from the UWS to Hell's Kitchen, and the new studio is fantastic -- spacious, airy, lots of room to throw punches and practice kicks. Who would've thought that a child of then 5 would have such a rough year for their first real school experience with bullying. My son did, and it was really affecting his behavior in school and then eventually at home. I knew that he needed a positive place to release the stress a young 5 year old can feel. Within 3 months I've noticed such a big change in his behavior, he was walking around with a smile and less aggravated to attend school. He is in his 8th month this December and in first grade now and I no longer pick up an angry child from school. He is more confident, self assured and although it has gotten tougher for him he has stuck it through and made some friends he can hopefully build long lasting relationships with. What makes this place great besides the beautiful space and well kept dojo and bathrooms are the Senseis. Both Sensei Luis and Sensei Rahul are amazing with the kids. Disciple, structure and respect will be learned here and they demand it. They are serious and tough on the young ones, pushing them to their full potential. And on the other hand they are very playful and loving and give the kids a break with occasional games when they are deserving. The children really show interest to be here, they are ready in line and excited. I have seen some amazing students that they have molded in this dojo and only hope that Noel will also follow their footsteps. Glad to be apart of the BX Martial Arts family. I truly am grateful for my sons Senseis and have an immense amount of respect and love for what they do for our children. Keep it up!
